It was revealed in 2021 that Matt Gaetz sought a preemptive pardon from then-President Donald Trump, but the Florida Republican is denying that now.
I have questions. Why did it take Matt so long to deny the accusations? And Lordy, there's a tape. In 2019, when Roger Stone was preparing to go to trial, he complained to Gaetz, saying that he was being pressured by the feds to incriminate Trump. Gaetz assured Stone that "the boss" would probably pardon him.
MSNBC's Ari Melber took him to task, and he brought the receipts.

A high-ranking Air Force officer admitted last year to retaining hundreds of highly sensitive documents at his Florida home. How much information is floating around out there, anyway? Via The Daily Beast:
Some of the information was classified at the Top Secret/SCI level, and laid out, among other things, capabilities and collection methods used by the National Security Agency (NSA), according to investigators. If ever exposed, the files “could be expected to cause exceptionally grave damage to the national security of the United States,” prosecutors said in a plea agreement unsealed over the weekend and obtained by The Daily Beast.
Robert Birchum, 54, spent 32 years in the Air Force and retired as a lieutenant colonel in June 2018. During his career, Birchum served as the chief of combat intelligence for an unidentified Air Force group, and later worked with “classified intelligence information” at the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), Special Operations Command (SOCOM), and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence (ODNI), according to the plea deal, which was signed Aug. 26, 2022, but kept under wraps until now.

Florida church vows to kick out members who refuse to sign 'anti-gay pledge'

The anti-LGBT sentiment from religious conservatives has reached a new high with a Jacksonville, Florida Baptist Church making members sign an oath of confirmation in anti-LGBT relationships as part of church membership.
First Baptist Church in Jacksonville's Senior Pastor Heath Lambert has been an outspoken proponent of 'traditional' family values and now the church has given members until March 19 to sign the 'Biblical Sexuality Agreement' oath or to immediately resign their membership. Lambert says he doesn't care what members do, and that real Christians do not have a problem with it.
According to Lambert, he did not make the decision on his own — that the entire congregation wanted to move forward with the agreement.

On Tuesday's The Five, Jesse Watters, Fox News' former Bill O'Reilly flunky made believe he is a historian when it comes to the AP African-American studies course that Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis has rejected.
"It's a very good course. Three-quarters of it is very rigorous and very good and this is very high-level stuff." Watters said. As if he's an expert on the topic.
"And then you get to about 1960 in here and it's all activism. It's all ideology. It's no history. A good chunk is really good stuff, and then it goes into white supremacy, patriarchy, abolish the prisons, overthrow capitalism, queer theory, intersectionality. And you're like, "Woah, we were going pretty good here!" And then boom, it hits you with all that stuff," he whined.

In fact, the news anchor went a step further insisting McCarthy had earned “another entry in the record books for the strangest and most stupidly phrased things said."
During his recent segment of "The Last Word" on Monday, January 23, O'Donnell slammed McCarthy describing him as possibly "the weakest and least smart man to ever serve as speaker of the House."

Fiscal conservatives have long sought a balanced budget, but a recent analysis by the Committee for a Responsible Federal Budget shows that's impossible without cutting Medicare and Social Security -- which would be deeply unpopular with voters, reported Axios.

Jimmy Failla host of FOX Across America told Fox and Friends that Microsoft is recruiting kids playing Xbox to become climate change activists by updating their software.
Microsoft recently announced that Xbox will automatically update to the Shutdown (energy saving) power option. This one-time update to power settings will reduce power consumption while the console is off, so right-wing MAGA heads exploded.
As I predicted, Fox News jumped into the fray this morning and one of their hosts came up with a new grooming conspiracy theory against the kids.

Utah's GOP AG leads continued attack against 'woke' investment firms

The Republican party is continuing its attack on what they feel are 'woke' investment and consulting firms that have Environment, Social and Governance (ESG) policies, as the Attorney General for the state of Utah has now filed a letter on behalf of over 20 states to challenge two major investment proxy firms that have staunch ESG policies.
Recently Utah Attorney General Sean Reyes sent the letter to Institutional Shareholder Services (ISS) and Glass, Lewis & Company with an allegation that the firms allegedly violated their contract and legal obligations by dismissing proposals and other investment opportunities that did not sufficiently speak to ESG goals.
ISS prides itself on its ESG solutions to "enable investors to develop and integrate responsible investing policies and practices, engage on responsible investment issues, and monitor portfolio company practices through screening solutions."
