Vice President Mike Pence re-upped the notion shared by both the Trump administration and its allies that Democrats are weaponizing coronavirus fears to make the President look bad during Sunday morning TV news appearances.
On CNN Sunday morning, Pence defended Donald Trump Jr.s remark that Democrats want Americans to die from coronavirus in an effort to slam the President.
But responding to the kind of things that have been hurled is understandable, Pence said. But what the Presidents charged us to do in my conversation with Speaker Pelosi, with Senator Schumer, my conversations with Republican and Democratic governors is to set the politics aside on this and to work the problem.

Democrats pivoting to new line of attack on Trump after GOP-controlled Senate blocked ouster: report
Published 6 mins ago on March 1, 2020
By Tom Boggioni
Accepting that the GOP-controlled Senate will never agree to oust Donald Trump from the Oval Office no matter what articles of impeachment are presented to the Republican members, Democrats are refocusing their efforts to go after the president in an election year by bringing Trumps refusal to admit foreign interference in the election to the forefront.
According to Politico, Democratic leadership is frustrated by the fact that Republicans have embraced Trump despite obvious evidence of corruption, so they are pivoting to new lines of attack that dont include impeachment.
There is nothing that Donald Trump can do that would cause [Senate Republicans] to convict him of high crimes and misdemeanors, said House Judiciary Committee lawmaker Jamie Raskin (D-MD), admitted. So that has caused everybody in the House to take a deep breath and figure out what our next steps are. That leaves us legislative and political answers.
According to the report, In other words, the end of the impeachment process has become the advent of a new, narrower focus on what Democrats say is a crucial theme revealed by their efforts: Trumps indifference to, or even encouragement of, foreign interference in the 2020 election. Its a throughline, they say, of Trumps behavior toward Russia, his treatment of Ukraine and his public comments on whether he would reject foreign help in future elections.

President's power to can independent agency heads faces test
By JESSICA GRESKO

WASHINGTON (AP) The Supreme Court is about to tell President Donald Trump whether he has more power to use a favorite phrase: Youre fired.
A case being argued at the high court on Tuesday could threaten the structure of agencies that form an enormous swath of the federal government. It has to do with whether a president can fire the heads of independent agencies for any reason.
The case the justices are hearing involves the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, the agency Congress created in response to the 2008 financial crisis. It was the brainchild of Massachusetts senator and Democratic presidential candidate Elizabeth Warren.
Experts say a decision could ultimately affect not only the CFPB but also how easily the president can fire a host of other independent agency heads, including leaders of the Federal Reserve, Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, Federal Trade Commission, Federal Communications Commission, Securities and Exchange Commission and Social Security Administration.

With this right wing libertarian Robert federalist majority court .....................one just has to look at what they and how they ruled on union representation..........................because if he gets this ruling, if people think social security administration has issues now, then it will become the whipping boy as being not doing there job and ...........................especially if you have one Ginni Thomas in the back ground............. .
I do not trust the majority in the Roberts Court, his track record is really questionable....................
Sanders raised stout $46.5M in February; Warren got $29M
By WILL WEISSERT

VIRGINIA BEACH, Va. (AP) Bernie Sanders presidential campaign said Sunday that it raised more than $46.5 million in February, a show of financial strength after the Vermont senator finished a distant second behind Joe Biden in South Carolinas primary.
Fellow progressive Elizabeth Warren announced a short time later collecting a respectable $29 million last month, as she copes with a weaker South Carolina showing.
Sanders team said it was making television ad buys in nine more states: Idaho, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri and Washington, which vote on March 10, and Arizona, Florida, Illinois and Ohio, which vote a week later. The campaign said it is currently on the air in 12 out of the 14 states that are voting on Super Tuesday, in two days.
The senators multi-generational, multiracial working class coalition keeps fueling his campaign for transformational change a few bucks at a time, Sanders campaign manager Faiz Shakir said in a statement. He said that, of the more than 2 million donations received this month, more than 1.4 million were from voters in Super Tuesday states.

US advisory warns Americans not travel to 2 Italian regions
By COLLEEN BARRY
MILAN (AP) A new U.S. government advisory on Sunday urged Americans not to travel to two Italian regions hardest hit by a new virus, raising the level of warning for the Lombard and Veneto regions to the highest level.
The advisory cited quarantines set up in 10 Lombard towns and one in Veneto, with a combined population of 50,000 people, as well as the the level of community transmission of the virus.?
It follows an earlier warning late Friday to avoid non-essential travel to all of Italy, where more than 1,100 cases were confirmed through Saturday along with 29 deaths.
Tourism officials have cited the previous warning covering all of Italy as potentially calamitous to the industry, which represents 13% of gross domestic product in a country famed for its world-class museums, archaeological sites, art cities and natural beauty.

Friendly kissing poses European dilemma as virus spreads
By COLLEEN BARRY
MILAN (AP) When French President Emmanuel Macron leaned in to give Premier Giuseppe Conte the Italian double-cheek kiss not once, but on two separate occasions, during a Franco-Italian summit in Naples this week, it was much more than a greeting.
It was a signal to citizens not to fear their neighbors as a new virus from China spreads, with Italy established as Europes hotspot.
Friendly kissing in the time of coronavirus has become a fresh dilemma, especially in effusive southern Europe, with perhaps the power to reshape customs. But even more-reserved northerners are grappling with whether to forgo the hallowed handshake.
The governments special commissioner for coronavirus, Angelo Borrelli, has suggested that Italians demonstrative nature could be contributing to the virus spread, with more than 1,100 people testing positive and 29 deaths, almost all in the countrys north.

The Dow just lost 12% in one week. Here's why and what likely happens next

The Dow and S&P 500 each dropped 12% and 11% for the week, respectively, marking their worst weekly performance since the financial crisis.
Wall Streets historic shake-up came as worries grew over the coronavirus impact on the global economy and corporate profits.
The U.S. stock market suffered a historic pullback this week as the coronavirus spread outside of China, spooking investors and traders out of equities.
The Dow Jones Industrial Average and S&P 500 each dropped 12% and 11% for the week, respectively, marking their worst weekly performance since the financial crisis. The 30-stock Dow posted its biggest one-day points loss ever on Thursday. It also tumbled deep into correction territory, down more than 10% from a record high, along with the S&P 500 and Nasdaq Composite.
Wall Streets historic shake-up came as worries grew over the coronavirus impact on the global economy and corporate profits. The number of new cases in China kept rising this week, while the number of people contracting the virus spiked in South Korea and Italy. This led a slew of companies to issue warnings about their earnings. It also dampened the market outlook for investors worried it could become widespread in the U.S. soon.
When people dont know how to quantify things, which is really where were at right now, the first reaction in the market is to sell first and figure things out a bit later, said JJ Kinahan, chief market strategist at TD Ameritrade.

U.S. stock market heads for its worst week since 2008
The breadth and intensity of this weeks coronavirus-fueled selloff in U.S. stocks has some analysts scratching their heads.
Thomas Lee, founder of Fundstrat Global Advisors, may be one of the few to acknowledge that something isnt right with a market that was just enjoying a record close days ago.
This is not normal, and the market is clearly indicating to us a change, Lee said in a research report on Friday.
Lee said the oddities playing out in the market, including two and potentially three days of 1,000-point drops in the same week for the Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA, -1.39% , signifies four things (though his tongue may be planted firmly in his cheek on the last item):
A significant change in economic fundamentals
A significant increase in risk to the fundamentals
The markets financial plumbing is breaking down
A meteor or alien invasion to end global existence has been spotted but its arrival is unknown (or a virus pandemic)

Azar Ordered Probe Of Coronavirus Whistleblower Claim, 'Will Never Tolerate' Retaliation
By Matt Shuham

February 28, 2020 4:48 p.m.
Health Secretary Alex Azar said Friday that he had ordered a probe into a whistleblowers claims that federal officials sent to repatriate Americans from coronavirus-striken Wuhan, China were not given protective gear or prepared to follow safety protocols.
The whistleblower also alleged they were reassigned after raising concerns about the situation. Azar said he wouldnt tolerate retaliation.
I have ordered an immediate, full investigation, Azar said in an interview on Fox News. What matters to us? First, our employees must be protected. Second, they must follow all isolation and quarantine protocols. Third, we must have a full investigation to learn if theres any truth to these allegations. And fourth, we will never tolerate any form of retaliation against a whistleblower.
The remarks were in stark contrast to Azars testimony Thursday night after Rep. Jimmy Gomez (D-CA) asked Azar about safety protocols. Gomez appeared to draw questions from the whistleblowers complaint, which hadnt yet been reported publicly.
Gomez asked the Department of Health and Human Services secretary, whos also leading the White Houses coronavirus task force under Vice President Mike Pence, Do you think breaking basic protocols and exposing untrained human service employees to the coronavirus before allowing them to be dispersed around the country could have endangered the employees and other Americans?
