Murkowski backs repealing ObamaCare mandate in boost to tax reform

Sen. Lisa Murkowski (R-Alaska) said Tuesday that she supports repealing ObamaCare's individual mandate, in what appeared to be a significant boost to the GOP tax bill that includes mandate repeal.

Murkowski, a key moderate swing vote, wrote in the Fairbanks Daily News-Miner that she supports giving people additional freedom by repealing the mandate, which requires people to have insurance or pay a fine.

"Repealing the individual mandate simply restores to people the freedom to choose," Murkowski wrote. "Nothing else about the structure of the ACA would be changed."

She contrasted the provision with GOP ObamaCare repeal bills earlier this year, which she said went too far by restructuring Medicaid and making other changes.

She has no fucking principles...................none, then she does and says this BS..........

"She said she worried that insurance is not affordable for some people and they are being fined for going without coverage by the mandate."

So if you gut the mandate there Murksowski, what do you think the premiums are going to do, go fucking down-----your a malignant narcissistic sociopath just like the orange hair buffoon in the WH, your just as dangerous has he is---------------look in the mirror there Murkowski, take a hard look at being a "death panel, for greed------FU

You fucking tax cut does not give enough money back to pay for the premiums if you make less than $75,000, your math does not work, and your CBO score said that 13 million human beings are going to be affected

Meet Milo Yiannopouloss newest business partner: Stripe

Source: Think Progress

On Monday, the BBC ran a feature on John Collison, the “youngest self-made billionaire” in the world. The 27-year-old, along with his brother, founded a company called Stripe in 2011, which would help companies and individuals process payments online.

The current valuation for Stripe, based out of San Francisco, runs over $9 billion, with Collison now estimated to be with some $1.1 billion himself.

And it would appear that some of those funds come from helping disgraced provocateur Milo Yiannopoulos make money.

Earlier this month, following ThinkProgress’s reporting, Yiannopoulos parted ways with Shopify, a Canadian company that had prior provided Yiannopoulos with a means of monetizing the latest white nationalist memes — even though Yiannopoulos had collaborated with white supremacists and was fired from Breitbart for his seeming willingness to condone pedophilia.

White House Makes Reporters Give Thanks Before Asking Briefing Questions

Source: Talking Points Memo

By ESME CRIBB Published NOVEMBER 20, 2017 3:41 PM

White House press secretary Sarah Huckabee Sanders on Monday told reporters that before they could ask her a question, they would have to list things for which they are thankful.

“This will be our last press briefing before the Thanksgiving holiday in this room,” Sanders said at the start of the daily briefing. “So I want to share a few things that I’m thankful for and I think it would be nice for you guys to do so as well before asking your questions.”

Sanders said it is “no secret” that she is “clearly very thankful” for the White House press corps, as well as her family, faith, first responders, members of the U.S. military and “the incredible privilege of serving this president and the American people.”

“So this is how it’s going to work today, since I’m here and I get to call on you,” she said. “If you want to ask a question, I think it’s only fair, since I’ve shared what I’m thankful for, that you start off with what you’re thankful for. So anybody want to be first on what they’re thankful for?”

Sanders called on American Urban Radio Networks reporter April Ryan first.

“I’m thankful for life. I’m thankful for my children. I’m thankful for 20 years in this job,” Ryan said. “I’m thankful to be able to talk to and question you every single day.”

“I feel the gratefulness there,” Sanders replied.

“Now my question,” Ryan pressed on. “I hope you felt the passion of my thankfulness.”

That's like sticking someone in the eye, probably went over Huckabee's head...................

Trumps racist rants follow a pattern. Even his supporters are tired of it.

Over the weekend, President Donald Trump tapped out a series of angry Twitter posts attacking black athletes and celebrities. If that sounds familiar, that’s because it is. The president has gone after LeBron James, Stephen Curry, Jemele Hill, and countless others — all in the past few months.

Notice something? There’s no mistaking the fact that the subject of Trump’s ire are all prominent African Americans. It’s no coincidence that Trump makes a sport of attacking black celebrities, especially those who have been outspoken against his policies or behavior in office.

But others have noticed this disturbing trend as well; in fact, there’s emerging evidence that the attacks are turning off the people they’re designed to rally to Trump’s side — his white, conservative base.

On Sunday, the president expressed his frustration with LaVar Ball, who told ESPN in a Friday interview that Trump didn’t do much to secure the release of his son LiAngelo from Chinese authorities following the younger Ball’s arrest on shoplifting charges earlier this month. The prickly president lashed out, saying in a tweet, “I should have left them in jail!”

Congress still hasnt renewed CHIP funding, 9 million children could soon lose health coverage

Source: Think Progress

It has been 51 days since Congress allowed the Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) to expire. Since then, states have been grappling with the reality that nine million children may soon lose critical health care coverage.

While CHIP has historically received support from lawmakers on both sides of the aisle, this year, Congress has allowed disagreements over the Affordable Care Act (ACA) to take precedence over reauthorizing funding for the program. Things are now especially dire for Arizona, the District of Columbia, Minnesota, and North Carolina — all of which are expected to run out of CHIP funds by next month. Thirty-one states will likely exhaust their funding by March 2018.

“We’re in an unprecedented situation,” Joan Alker, executive director of Georgetown University’s Center for Children and Families, told ThinkProgress. Referring to Congress’ delay in funding the program, Alker said, “We’ve never seen anything like this happen before.”

Mnuchin: 'I don't know' if individual tax cuts will extend beyond 2025

Source: The Hill

Treasury Secretary Steve Mnuchin said Sunday that permanent corporate tax cuts are necessary to spur economic growth before making individual tax cuts permanent.

Host Chris Wallace challenged Mnuchin, saying he doesn’t know what factors will be at play in 2025 or whether Congress would extend the tax cuts at that point.

“I don’t know that. Maybe I’ll be working for President Pence at the time, but I don’t know that," Mnuchin said on "Fox News Sunday." "We’ll know by then whether this creates growth or not. If it does, we’ll have an incredible economy… if it doesn’t, Congress will deal with it at the time."

A modified version of the Senate tax bill released last week shows that while a corporate tax cut would be permanent, individual tax cuts would expire in 2025.

So the supporter of the sexual predator, the same man that went to the treasury to see his signature on the new bills, and having himself sitting behind closed doors with both the senate and house republican fascist has “NO CLUE" if the "individual tax breaks extends past 2025.

Then why are you there, if you have "NO CLUE"

Resign, quit

Have "I don’t know that" my ass

New ad encourages Collins to vote no on tax bill

Source: NBC

WASHINGTON — A liberal group has launched a seven-figure ad campaign to encourage Republicans to vote against the Senate's tax bill.

First up: Sen. Susan Collins of Maine, who has said that she has deep concerns about the Senate version of the bill, which would slash the corporate tax rate, make temporary changes to individual tax rates, eliminate a series of deductions for individuals and businesses, and end the Obamacare mandate that imposes a fine on people who don't buy health insurance.

The group, Not One Penny, began airing its first ad in Maine on Saturday.

The group, which plans to run similar spots in a set of states it hasn't yet identified, has committed to fighting any legislation that cuts taxes for the wealthiest Americans. Both the House-passed version of the tax bill and a Senate companion approved by the Finance Committee would do so.

How Apple Takes A Bite Out Of All Of Us

It is difficult to name a company with a better popular image than Apple.

Stockholders love the strength of the company; it annually tops lists for best-run and most profitable, customers line up days or more ahead of time for product releases and distributors, code writers and feeder industries all heap praise on the technical giant. Steve Jobs, long dead, is still revered as a Silicon Valley pioneer.

And yet.

Apple stows a quarter of a trillion dollars a year offshore on the United Kingdom’s Isle of Jersey, where Apple pays no taxes.

That little factoid makes me wonder about corporate behavior, the attack on government-paid social services and those Congressional talks about tax “reform,” a phrase known to the rest of us as tax cuts for corporations and giveaways for the wealthy. It’s a program that a new analysis from the nonpartisan Tax Policy Center will cost $7 trillion over the next 20 years, with individual taxpayers called on to provide much of the difference. The entire package is expected to cost an estimated $5.6 trillion over the next 20 years—an amount that economists say would be hard to offset through economic growth alone.
