Trump team quietly ships kids to tent cities so they can't run away

By Bernie Dennler III - October 1, 2018

Children are being rounded up in the dead of night and sent to a huge Texas tent city, where they have no access to education and few legal protections.

Hundreds of unaccompanied minors have been ripped from well-regulated shelters in the dead of night and dumped into a mostly unregulated desert tent city, according to a new report by The New York Times.

Thanks to the Trump administration’s cruel immigration policies, the population of unaccompanied minor children being detained by the U.S. has skyrocketed fivefold since last year. To accommodate this surge, children are being moved out of licensed shelters and into a large desert encampment in Tornillo, Texas.

At the licensed shelters, which are monitored by state welfare agencies, kids received schooling and even regular legal assistance. But those basic services get stripped away from the children who are moved to Tornillo.

Understandably, many children don’t want to be put in that position. That’s why they are being smuggled away in the dead of night, shelter workers told the Times — to prevent escape attempts.

Trump Cabinet secretary logged 290 hours of mysterious 'private' time

By Eric Boehlert - October 1, 2018

Elaine Chao has taken the equivalent of weeks of vacation in 'private' meetings.

Trump’s Secretary of Transportation Elaine Chao has already put in nearly 300 hours of “private” time while serving as a Cabinet member.

The highly unusual practice raises all sorts of questions about how Chao is spending her time as a taxpayer-paid public official.

“In total, Chao clocked more than 290 hours of appointments labeled private — the equivalent of about seven weeks’ vacation — during her first 14 months in President Donald Trump’s Cabinet, based on a review of documents provided under the Freedom of Information Act,” Politico reports.

There’s a suspicion that Chao just isn’t work that hard, as she constantly fills up her Friday afternoon schedules with “private time” meetings. Either that or Chao and her office are purposefully trying to hide from the public what she’s doing as secretary of transportation.

California enacts strongest net neutrality protections in the country as Trump administration files

Gov. Jerry Brown has restored net neutrality rules in California that were repealed under the Trump administration, setting up a legal battle with the federal government over whether states can prevent companies from blocking access to the internet.

The ambitious new law, which was signed by Brown late Sunday and takes effect Jan. 1, prohibits broadband and wireless companies from blocking, throttling or otherwise hindering access to internet content, and from favoring some websites over others by charging for faster speeds. It prompted a quick and aggressive response from Trump administration officials, who have sued to block the regulations.

“Under the Constitution, states do not regulate interstate commerce — the federal government does,” Atty. Gen. Jeff Sessions said in a statement issued Sunday. “Once again the California legislature has enacted an extreme and illegal state law attempting to frustrate federal policy.”

Ajit Pai, the Trump-appointed chairman of the Federal Communications Commission who over nine months worked to shelve the federal net neutrality regulations, said he was pleased with the lawsuit, pointing to a federal courts appellate ruling that he said found “state regulation of information services is preempted by federal law.”

Hey Sessions, your ilk doesn't like the Constitution remember, after all you did lie in front of a confirmation hearing, and just for historical reference maybe you should read Nancy Macleans book: Democracy in Chains
THE DEEP HISTORY OF THE RADICAL RIGHT’S STEALTH PLAN FOR AMERICA

Because your ilk have been following James Buchanan model since he created it with his libertarian policies, that states rights over ride federal rights....................
