"Christian" pastor cancels Autism Awareness Week because he says it is "demonic."

The day before Easter, Pastor Matt Baker of the Trinity Christian Academy in Lake Worth, Florida, emailed the school community to inform them that he was canceling Autism Awareness Week because “the teachings and actions of my Jesus are fully able to do all that this program intends to achieve and so much more.”
“Anything that teaches our children to have their identity in anything other than Christ is idolatry and demonic,” he declared, as first reported by WPTV.

Cindy McCain says her organization can feed 1.1 million people in Gaza, but Israel is hindering their efforts.

Cindy McCain, representing the World Food Program, says the organization has enough food to feed 1.1 million people in Gaza for 3 months, but Israel is only allowing a trickle to enter. Innocents are literally starving

“We’re literally on the brink of going over the edge — over the cliff — with famine and not being able to recover from it,” McCain said in an interview on CNN’s “State of the Union” with Jake Tapper.
The remarks come as the situation in Gaza continues to grow more dire. Last month, the WFP published a report saying famine “is imminent in the northern part of the Gaza Strip.”

The Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) report, published last month, found about half the population in Gaza, about 1.1 million people, have exhausted all of their food supplies and are facing “catastrophic hunger” and starvation.

On Sunday, McCain stressed the importance of the border crossings, saying the WFP has food for 1.1 million people for three months amassed on the border and just needs to be let into the Gaza Strip.

McCain was unable to say specifically whether reports that Israel was withdrawing some troops from southern Gaza would make it easier to deliver aid to people who need it.

Just a reminder to donate to Florida's future leaders.

Florida is in play this year. Abortion access and recreational marijuana are on the ballot. Two important issues that will bring out the youth vote in November. I made my donation through Actblue.

Disney's Bob Iger has won the long proxy battle against Nelson Peltz.

Source: Business Insider

Disney CEO Bob Iger has officially prevailed in his battle against activist investor Nelson Peltz.

At Disney's annual meeting Wednesday, shareholders voted to keep Iger and Disney management's board instead of choosing to swap in two new members nominated by Peltz's investment firm Trian Partners: Peltz, himself, and former Disney CFO Jay Rosulo.

Disney's slate won by "a substantial margin," Horacio Gutierrez, Disney's senior executive VP, said. The final tally will be available in the coming days, the company said, but CNBC reported that Disney director Maria Elena Lagomasino — who Peltz had wanted to oust — got 63% of votes, while Peltz received 31%.

Oh, this is a good read about "protest voting" or not voting because, you know, Biden's not their perfect candidate.

From 2020, but absolutely tells it like it is.

Short walks down long piers.

As you jog down the pier, early in the morning, you see someone in the water, flailing to stay afloat. They’re drowning and there’s nobody around but you. Fortunately, there’s a floatation device—aptly called a lifesaver—nearby, attached to a rope on a reel. All you have to do is trigger the control to lower it into the water and rescue them.

Do you pull the lever to save them or do you walk away?

Many pages have been filled by philosophers debating scenarios akin to this one, but sophisticated analysis is wasted on so simple a case. It’s open and shut. Whether they arrive at the obvious conclusion through tedious reasoning from first principles about deontology, virtues, the veil of ignorance, utilitarianism, or some other idea, no system of ethics deserving of the name will contradict what common sense and empathy make plain: You have a moral obligation to save the person who’s drowning.

There are people who would deny this. Some are simply evil; there’s not much to say about them. Others are evil in more complicated ways, such as by insisting that you can never have a positive obligation to do anything without explicit prior agreement. This is nonsense in general, but it’s bigger nonsense in specific because we’re not saying you should risk your life by jumping in the water; all you have to do is pull a lever. How hard is that?

It is literally the least you could do as a decent human being.

But other than that, Mrs. Lincoln, how was the play?

Fact: Donald Trump is an incompetent, bigoted, corrupt traitor.

There are actually people who would deny this. Perhaps they don’t consider his mishandling of COVID-19 to be gross incompetence. Perhaps they don’t recognize the bigotry of calling Mexicans rapists. Perhaps they don’t see the corruption in funneling taxpayer money into his golf courses. Perhaps they don’t acknowledge the treason in seeking foreign aid to win re-election. Perhaps they’re oblivious to all the many examples of these failings, not to mention others.

My company uses a floppy disk symbol to save your work.

Isn't that cute? Does anyone under the age of 25 even know what a floppy disk is? Maybe they teach about it in history class. 😆 🤣

Nearly 30% of Gen Z women identify as LGBTQ, Gallup survey finds.

Women ages 18 to 26 were more than twice as likely to identify as LGBTQ than their millennial counterparts, the survey found.

The percentage of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer adults in the U.S. continues to increase, reaching an all-time high of 7.6% in 2023, according to a new Gallup report. Broken down by gender, the survey of 12,000 people 18 and older across the country found that women were nearly twice as likely as men to identify as LGBTQ.

“Almost 30% of Gen Z women identify as LGBTQ+, most as bisexual,” Jeffrey Jones, a senior editor at Gallup, told NBC News. “That’s where a lot of the growth seems to be happening.”

This is the first year Gallup has laid out its annual LGBTQ identification report in a way that breaks down each generation by gender. Looking at all generations, 8.5% of women and 4.7% of men identified as LGBTQ, the survey found. The survey reported margins of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points among LGBTQ respondents.
