Other than being just an all around swell human being, he is trying to help me discharge my student loans from the 80's!! I have been struggling for DECADES to pay off my original $17,000 student loans. (For a BS that never got me a job. Child Development.) Those loans, through default penalties and interest accruing, snowballed to almost $200,000!!! I don't make much money, have no retirement other than SS and I was never going to be able to really retire. Now, I have a chance to enjoy some golden years without being a greeter at wallyworld.

THANK YOU, PRESIDENT BIDEN!! Even if it fails, he tried. He cares. I love him.

So, my original loans were for approximately $20,000 when I graduated back in 1990. Due to defaulting twice, getting back into repayment on the IBR plan with penalties and interest, my loans ballooned to almost $200,000!! I am getting close to retirement, but can't because you still have to pay it back even if on SS.

Holy cow! It is sooooo good.

I started my starter a few weeks ago with all purpose flour. It bubbled but did not rise. I read that was because the wild yeasts hadn't enriched the starter and that rye flour would help. I bought some rye flour from the local health food store and within 2 days, it was bubbling and rising. I couldn't wait on a trditional sourdough without using yeast, so this loaf was made with some yeast. Real sourdough without yeast in the mixture takes 24 to 36 hours from start to finish. It is so worth the several weeks wait for my starter. Crunchy crust, smooth crumb and a wonderfully sour taste.

My next loaf will be the traditional way, without yeast.

Oh, I can't wait to hear what they have to say!!
