Trump links to his own Social Media Director Dan Scavino!

Shades of "John Miller" and "John Bannon?" Feeding his own narrative. Two-bit huckster - simply disgusting.

Clemson #1, Alabama #5 in polls - defies all logic!

Clemson has a loss to an unranked 4-8 team.

Alabama has an away loss to a 9-2 #6 team (which is now ranked ahead of Alabama with 2 losses? ).

We'll see if the Playoff Selection Committee brings some mental consistency to this insanity.

If the record doesn't count, why play all those games?

The one saving grace - any of the top 4 teams lose, Alabama would bump up into the Final Four. Logically, that is.

Anthony Bourdain Cooked Thanksgiving Dinner for a Powerful Trio of Harvey Weinstein Accusers

Rose McGowan, Annabella Sciorra and Bourdain’s girlfriend Asia Argento gathered for “meeting of the minds”

Tonight, Bourdain's CNN show Parts Unknown Southern Italy: The Heel of the Boot features Asia Argento and Francis Ford Coppola.

From The Wrap, by Matt Donnelly

High-profile Harvey Weinstein rape accusers Rose McGowan, Annabella Sciorra and Asia Argento spent their Thanksgiving holiday together in a “meeting of the minds” catered by world-renowned chef Anthony Bourdain.

Bourdain, Argento’s boyfriend and host of the popular food and travel series “Parts Unknown,” documented the experience via Twitter on Saturday.

“It was an honor to cook for this meeting of the minds,” Bourdain captioned a photo of Argento, McGowan and Sciorra, three women among roughly 80 who have accused the disgraced movie mogul of harrowing acts of sexual assault.

*****

Accounts from the three actresses represent some of the most serious and criminal acts Weinstein stands accused of since two exposes imploded his professional and person life in October. His consistent position on the matter has been that “any allegations of non-consensual sex are unequivocally denied.”

The tragedy of evangelicals putting their faith in political kings

86% of Alabamians are Christian. Do the math. We need, at the very least, some of them!

Source: AL.com, by Cameron Smith

*****

The Jewish people wanted a warrior king to throw off the Roman oppression. Jesus taught love for enemies and intercessory prayer for those who persecuted his followers. Rather than taking up arms against the Romans, Jesus bore the shame of the cross willingly. Needless to say, he was a disappointment to those who prioritized political liberation over redemption for their souls.

I understand why the Israelites, contemporaries of Jesus, and today's evangelical voters are tempted by bold, aggressive politicians pledging to fight their battles. We're afraid of what tomorrow might hold. We see our culture and world changing right before our eyes. Finding a politician to fight for us is a much easier path than the radical, sacrificial love depicted in the gospel.

*****

What are we going to do to help the sick? The fatherless? The prisoner? Shouting about protecting our values is a poor substitute for our lives serving as the proof of our convictions.

Better political warriors won't fix this political mess we're in. It will simply make for more enemies. We must be vigilant in guarding against politicians who do violence to the very gospel we claim. If we do not, we risk reducing our voices to a loud chorus of banging gongs and clanging symbols.

Trump's friends schedule fake events at failing Mar-a-Lago to make him feel better

Mar-a-Lago members can't even talk their friends into being seen at the club, so Trump allies are filling the empty space.

Source: Caroline Orr

*****

Mar-a-Lago was once considered the place to be in the Palm Beach social scene. However, since Trump took office, the ritzy resort has suffered a serious blow to its reputation due to its association with the embarrassment named Trump.

In August, at least 16 charities pulled their events from Mar-a-Lago after Trump blamed the violence in Charlottesville on “both sides” and referred to white supremacists as “very fine people.”

*****

Among those slated to host events at Trump’s resort in the near future are televangelist Pat Robertson — head of the Christian Broadcasting Network and a steadfast Trump supporter — along with the Trumpettes, a pro-Trump fan club comprised of wealthy older women.

The event hosted by the Christian Broadcasting Network will be its first at Mar-a-Lago, and according to Newsweek, Robertson scheduled the gala “just so it could take place there.”

Another group of Trump supporters called The Young Republican National Federation hosted its first event at Mar-a-Lago just last week. The gala featured “a speech from singer and Trump cheerleader Joy Villa, who celebrated conspiracy theorist and Sandy Hook-denier Alex Jones,” Newsweek reported.

For God and country: What do the US military think of Christians...

the Bible and America's 'moral decline'?

Source: Christian News, by Joseph Hartropp

A new survey has polled the views of American military members on Christian faith and the Bible. Most military members have a 'very positive' view of believers, and say that American morality is in decline, while nearly half believe Bible doesn't have enough influence on society.

The study by Barna Group, released this month, explores the attitudes of US military personnel, past and present, and their perspectives on contemporary religion.

*****

*****

Among those who are either 'friendly' or 'neutral' towards the Bible, most (86 per cent) believe that American morality is in decline. Such a view is most common amongst those who are retired or have been discharged from the military (91 per cent) or those who are 'born-again' Christians (92 per cent).

Many also believe the Bible could be part of the solution. A little less than half (46 per cent) of service men and women said the Bible has too little influence in US society – though 22 per cent said the Bible has 'too much' influence, and 33 per cent said its influence was 'just right'.

Trump expected to travel to Mar-a-Lago for Thanksgiving

Asian vacation over - now South Florida! And WE pay for it!

Source: The Hill, by Max Greenwood

Plans appear to be underway for President Trump to spend Thanksgiving at his Mar-a-Lago estate in Florida.

The Federal Aviation Administration issued a "VIP Movement Notification" for Palm Beach, Fla., Tuesday night, flagging dates between Nov. 21 and 26 for flight restrictions.

*****

Trump has frequently traveled to his own properties since taking office in January. Early on, he frequented Mar-a-Lago, but eventually began traveling to his golf club in Bedminster, N.J., after the Florida estate closed for the summer.

According to a New York Times tally, Trump has spent 25 days of his presidency at Mar-a-Lago, where he has hosted world leaders, including Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe and Chinese President Xi Jinping.

NFL's Thursday Night Football looked like a video game. Plenty of fans didn't like it.

I caught an ESPN college football game stream with no commentary as the overhead camera roamed around the field from one play to the next. I had never seen a football game from this perspective - and I thought it was revolutionary!

Source: WaPo by Travis M. Andrews

NFL fans and commentators were again divided on Thursday night, only this time it wasn’t about players kneeling during the national anthem. It was over a camera angle.

Thursday Night Football’s matchup between the Tennessee Titans and the Pittsburgh Steelers looked an awful lot like a video game. That’s because the broadcast’s primary angle was from SkyCam, a moving camera attached to wires that hangs about 15 feet over the field. The fact that it looked like a video game was part of the appeal for the NFL.

*****

True to form, NFL fans sounded off on Twitter. Reactions were mixed and, this being football, pretty fiery.

One fan called it “wonderful” and requested the NFL keep SkyCam “as the primary view for all broadcasts forever.” Another said the angle was “a nice touch to see how plays develop.” Another said: “I need skycam in all sports. This would be great for NBA games, too.”

*****

The fans who hated it, though, really hated it.

One said the SkyCam will “get me to stop watching football. Make camera angles great again!” Another tweeted to NBC, “enough with the overhead camera. We get it, you’re edgy. Go back to the camera that shows the whole field.” A third called it “beyond lame,” adding, “Please just stop. If I wanted views like this I’d play Madden 14.”

Our view: Roy Moore grossly unfit for office

By AL.com Editorial Board

Roy Moore simply cannot be a U.S. Senator. Even if his party and many of its adherents still think it possible, it is unthinkable -- for his state, and his country.

*****

In our view, Moore has already revealed himself as grossly unfit to be a U.S. Senator before these revelations.

He has been twice-removed from statewide office for his defiance of the law. His views on women's rights, same-sex marriage and religious freedom no longer reflect the majority of Alabamians. And they are incompatible with the governance of this country. He has said that the murderous 9/11 attacks on America and the tragic school shooting in Newtown, Connecticut may have been God's will because America had sinned.

Investigations into Moore's nonprofit the Foundation of Moral Law, have revealed a man who champions himself above all else. Above Alabamians. And, yes, above God. Moore has used his platform to personally enrich himself and his family and to pursue his own, radical agenda.

*****

It's time that he and his party read the writing on the wall: His candidacy is over. His true character has been revealed. It's time for the GOP to remove its official support.

And since he and his party can't assure it, the voters of Alabama must.
