yallerdawg's Journal"Families Belong Together" - Montgomery AL
We gathered in 'Real Feel' 100° from 10-11AM at the Court Square Fountain at the green space marking Rosa Park's bus ride.
As we listened to the immigrant stories today, we were reminded of the families that were destroyed right here at the foot of the state capital.
Sometimes, it sure seems like "Same as it ever was."

Tim Tebow makes Double-A All-Star Game
File this under "Somebody Up there Likes Me."Source: Sportsnaut, by Matt Johnson
The 30-year-old outfielder, who is playing for the Double-A Binghamton Rumble Ponies this season, was named to the Eastern League All-Star Game on Friday.
Given his performance this month and now an All-Star spot, it wouldnt be a surprise to see Tebow promoted to Triple-A Las Vegas by August. It could then open the door for him to be called up to the Mets active roster when rosters expand in September.

Recession fears are flaring as Trump's trade war has markets behaving in a way...
not seen since the financial crisisRemember, fellow D's, "R stands for Recession" - historical fact. Do your due diligence.

This dynamic is reflected in the chart above, which shows the so-called yield curve is not only flattening but nearing negative territory. If the two-year were to start yielding more than the 10-year a rare occurrence known as inversion it would signal that a recession is near, according to historical precedent.

Tom Steyer and 'Need to Impeach' says:
In 2016, Republicans refused to allow President Obama to fill a vacancy on the Supreme Court, insisting that the seat be left open until after the election. They held up his pick, Merrick Garland, for eight months. Give the people a voice, Senator McConnell said at the time.
The Garland nomination was in March of that year eight months before the 2016 election. Trump wont make his nomination until July, just four months before the midterms. There should be no hearings before then.
And that means Senate Democrats must hold the line. Republicans have declared war on our democracy, and the American people need to see Democrats in the fight. We must do all we can to prevent any Trump nominee from getting confirmed. Impeachment is now polling at Watergate levels of support. These are not normal times, and concerns over normal Senate procedure no longer apply.
Republicans and Democrats alike have said the American people should have their voices heard. Make your voice heard now. Demand your Senators do everything they can to block any Trump nominee.
Rep. Maxine Waters cancels Birmingham trip due to security concerns
Source: AL.com, by Jonece Starr Dunigan
U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-California, has cancelled a planned trip to Birmingham due to security concerns. She was scheduled to speak Friday at an annual conference for black female politicians, local officials and community leaders.
Waters was supposed to address an audience of black women for the National Organization of Black Elected Legislative (NOBEL) Women's Annual Legislative Conference, which starts today and ends Sunday. But NOBEL President Karen Camper, a state representative from Tennessee, confirmed that Waters was no longer coming because of security reasons. Details about the safety concerns have not been released and it's not known if a specific threat were made.
Waters' cancellation comes during a time when both Republican and Democratic lawmakers are criticizing remarks she made during an immigration rally telling citizens to publicly confront members of President Donald Trump's administration. Her statement was made in response to Trump's "zero tolerance" immigration policy, which led to the separation of children from families at the Mexico border.
"Let's make sure we show up wherever we have to show up," Waters said during the rally. "And if you see anybody from that cabinet in a restaurant, in a department store, at a gasoline station, you get out and you create a crowd. And you push back on them. And you tell them they're not welcome anymore, anywhere. We've got to get the children connected to their parents."
