Set in 1987, the critically-acclaimed drama examines the juxtaposition of several segments of life and society in New York City: the emergence of the luxury Trump-era universe, the downtown social and literary scene and the ball culture world.
Pose made history by featuring the largest amount of trans actors in regular roles of any scripted TV series in history.
The cast includes: Mj Rodriguez, Dominique Jackson, Indya Moore, Hailie Sahar, Angelica Ross, Evan Peters, Kate Mara, James Van Der Beek, Billy Porter, Charlayne Woodard, Ryan Jamaal Swain, Dyllón Burnside and Angel Bismark Curiel.
A spokesperson for FX said: As television critics have universally acknowledged, there is simply nothing like Pose on TV, so effortlessly excelling on every creative level and earning a place in television history for its infectiously inclusive spirit."

Trump Says U.S., EU Must Cut All Tariffs Ahead of Key Talks

Taking a firm position.
I have an idea for them. Both the U.S. and the E.U. drop all Tariffs, Barriers and Subsidies! Trump said in a Tuesday night tweet. That would finally be called Free Market and Fair Trade! Hope they do it, we are ready - but they wont!
What's at stake today.
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker and EU Trade Commissioner Cecilia Malmstrom are due to meet with Trump in Washington on Wednesday. They plan to signal the blocs willingness to negotiate a bilateral trade agreement with the U.S. on manufactured goods, or a so-called plurilateral sectoral agreement between all major car exporters which would cut or eliminate tariffs on automobiles globally.
The overtures are a last-ditch attempt to dissuade him from imposing tariffs on European car exports to the U.S., in what could deal a serious blow to the 28-nation blocs economy. The Stoxx 600 Automobiles & Parts Index fell by 1.4 percent at 1:03 p.m. in Brussels ahead of the meeting.

For all the gifs and memes and fragments of an Internet broken by his prodigious swings, Tim Tebow turned out to be a decent baseball player. Probably not a great prospect at 30 years old, but good enough to show that his second sports career wasnt a joke.
His best shot at a cup of coffee in the major leagues most likely ended with Mondays diagnosis of a broken wrist. At the time he had been playing for the New York Mets Class-AA team, the Binghamton Rumble Ponies, two levels below the big leagues. And the fact he was hitting a respectable .273 with six home runs and a .734 OPS, along with the prospect of the Mets finishing a dreary season in an empty Citi Field, gave legitimacy to the idea he could be called up to the majors when the rosters are expanded to 40 players in September if for no other reason than to sell tickets.
With the Mets hoping to rebuild for next year, relying on the promise of new, young players, not former football stars in their fourth decade of life, the window on Tebows big league dreams almost certainly slammed shut the moment his wrist cracked last Friday night. But if this is the end for Tebow and baseball, we should appreciate what he has done. He has proven himself to be a sports renaissance man.

When you strip away the headlines and hysteria and the chuckles and jokes about the packaged, evangelical Tebow we are left with a man who loves sports so much he was determined to keep playing, even when the world told him to stop. A little more than 30 years into a life lived in bold type, he has been an NFL quarterback, an excellent television analyst and a minor league baseball player who almost proved he deserved a chance at the big leagues.
Not a bad sports life at all.

'Yellowstone' Becomes Second Most Watched Scripted Series On Basic Cable, Hits New Ratings Highs
If you like "modern Western genre" you'll like this!Source: Yahoo Entertainment, by Nellie Andreeva
Three episodes into its run, Paramount Networks breakout new drama Yellowstone is the second most watched TV series on ad-supported cable to air in 2018, only behind juggernaut The Walking Dead.
Over its first three episodes, the series starring Kevin Costner has averaged 4.6 million viewers in Live+3. The drama had held steady in the ratings and even growing in key demographics. The most recent third episode, entitled No Good Horses, set records in adults 18-49 (1.3), adults 25-54 (1.9) and women 25-54 (1.7).
The series premiere of Yellowstone drew nearly 5 million viewers in Live+3, making it the top summer drama series debut on cable or broadcast. It was also ad-supported cables most-watched scripted drama series premiere since FXs The People v O.J. Simpson in 2016 (8.3 million) and eclipsed the two previous launches on the six-month old Paramount Network, Waco and American Woman, both of which had posted respectable numbers.
From Oscar-nominated writer/executive producer Taylor Sheridan, Yellowstone follows the Dutton family, led by John Dutton (Costner), who controls the largest contiguous ranch in the United States, which is under constant attack by those it borders land developers, an Indian reservation and Americas first National Park. Cast also includes Wes Bentley, Kelly Reilly, Luke Grimes, Dave Annable, Cole Hauser, Kelsey Asbille, Danny Huston, Gil Birmingham, Josh Lucas, Jefferson White, Gretchen Mol, Jill Hennessey, Patrick St. Esprit, Ian Bohen, Heather Hemmons, Denim Richards, and Michael Nouri.

Trump's Fed criticism is nearly without precedent in US history
His most recent attack on normal competent behavior.Source: CNBC, by Jeff Cox
President Donald Trump's move to criticize the Federal Reserve is almost without precedent in a nation that places a high priority on the independence of monetary policy.
Almost all of Trump's predecessors steered clear of Fed critiques in the interest of making sure that interest rates were set to whatever was best for the economy and not to boost anyone's political fortunes.
Almost all of Trump's predecessors steered clear of Fed critiques in the interest of making sure that interest rates were set to whatever was best for the economy and not to boost anyone's political fortunes.
The closest analog with Trump's apparent efforts to influence interest rates he prefers the Fed keep them low was how former President Richard Nixon arm-twisted Arthur Burns to maintain loose monetary policy as Nixon sought re-election in 1972.
That didn't work out particularly well: As the 1970s economy continued to grow, inflation took root thanks to low rates and remained stubbornly in place until the early 1980s, when then-Fed Chair Paul Volcker had to tighten policy sharply. That in turn pushed the economy into recession but also helped slay the inflation problem and paved the way for the most powerful growth the economy had seen in the post-World War II era.

U.S. housing starts hit nine-month low; permits fall

U.S. homebuilding fell to a nine-month low in June and permits declined for a third straight month, dealing a blow to the housing market as it struggles with a dearth of properties available for sale.
Higher lumber prices and shortages of land and labor are constraining homebuilding. The housing market is lagging overall economic growth, which appears to have accelerated in the second quarter after hitting a soft patch at the start of the year.
Higher lumber prices and shortages of land and labor are constraining homebuilding. The housing market is lagging overall economic growth, which appears to have accelerated in the second quarter after hitting a soft patch at the start of the year.
Housing starts tumbled 12.3 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of 1.173 million units last month, the lowest level since September 2017, the Commerce Department said on Wednesday. The percent drop was the biggest since November 2016 and both single and multi-family home construction declined in June.
Residential investment contracted in the first quarter. Junes sharp drop in homebuilding could impact on economists forecasts for second-quarter growth, which are as high as a 5.3 percent annualized rate. The economy grew at a 2.0 percent pace in the first quarter.

Secretary of State confirms Rep. John Knight's voting record 'altered'
"It's always something" - a new wrinkle in Alabama elections
The recent Alabama law prohibiting "crossover voting" in primary runoffs - voting in one party's primary and then switching to vote in the other party's runoff - just hit a weird bump in the road.
State Rep. John Knight, D-Montgomery, got a surprise when he went to vote in the Democratic runoff at Alabama State University today.
Knight, who is in a runoff with Sen. David Burkette for the Democratic nomination in Senate District 26, was told he could not vote in the Democratic runoff because he had voted in the Republican primary on June 5.
"Which is crazy," Knight said. "I was a candidate."
Knight said the chief inspector at the ASU polling place said other voters had experienced the same mix-up.

Secretary of State confirms Rep. John Knight's voting record 'altered'
Rep. John Knight's voting record was changed to show the Democratic Senate candidate voted Republican in the June 5 primary, according to Alabama Secretary of State John Merrill.
"Apparently thats what happened," Merrill said when asked if Knight's record was changed. "At some point it had to be altered because he was shown as a Republican. I can assure you having served with John Knight in the Legislature that hes not a Republican. ... We'll find out why it happened."
