Cereal Apologies: ad from Cheerios that portrays a biracial family ignites GOP media retaliation....

You can not make this stuff up. RNC chair engaging in massively gut wrenching projection.

RNC Chair Reince Priebus issues an edict prohibiting anyone under his command from appearing on MSNBC because of THIS tweet??

“Maybe the rightwing will hate it, but everyone else will go awww: the adorable new #Cheerios ad w/ biracial family,” the tweet read from the Chairman of MSNBC."

Anyone care to use logic to explain what is so offensive about the tweet, leading logically to the freakout, please?

So the GOP fully identifies with 'the right wing'? I can't believe they would take offense at this tweet, unless that is exactly the way the GOPers feel, right?

THIS from the letter that Reince fired off in some kind of alcoholic rage I would wager, because the first thing that came to mind is that he just was on Fox News yesterday, a cable news rival of MSNBC that makes this pathetic screed even more awesomely evil:

MEMORANDUM

FROM: RNC Chairman Reince Priebus
TO: All Republican Elected Officials, Strategists, Surrogates, and Pundits
RE: Until MSNBC’s Phil Griffin Apologizes…

>>>>>>>snip<<<<<<<<<<

"MSNBC hosts—including Alec Baldwin, Martin Bashir, Melissa Harris-Perry, Alex Wagner, and
Ronan Farrow just to name a few—have had a troubling streak in the last several weeks of
making comments that belittle and demean Americans without furthering any thoughtful dialogue.
Perhaps it's time for the executives at MSNBC to consider whether their network is upholding a
meaningful journalistic mission.

This is more than just a tweet or an offhand comment. This is part of a pattern of behavior that has
gotten markedly worse, and until Phil Griffin personally apologizes and takes corrective action, we
cannot be part of this network's toxic programming."

Get it? MSNBC is the network with "toxic programming"!

More attention for the ad, more light to freely throw on the evil that is the incestuous relationship between Fox News, the GOP and political/media corruption.
______________

Not to mention, Dear Reince, that there WAS a right wing media and hate freakout the FIRST time this ad ran in May, 2013, and here is the proof, Dear Upset Reince:

May 30, 2013:

"Camille Gibson, the brand's vice president of marketing, said in a statement: "Consumers have responded positively to our new Cheerios ad. At Cheerios, we know there are many kinds of families, and we celebrate them all." On Monday's Today show, she added: "The [YouTube] comments that were made were, in our view, not family friendly. And that was really the trigger for us to pull them off. … Ultimately we were trying to portray an American family. And there are lots of multicultural families in America today."

More Tea Pot Death Rattles: "Tea Party Groups Suffer Another Huge Defeat; Are They Toast?"

"The trio of defeats: The October bill to re-open the shuttered government and avert a catastrophic debt default (with no strings attached), the December budget agreement to raise spending and mitigate automatic sequester cuts and now the farm bill to renew agriculture subsidies and food stamps.

Tea party groups such as the Club For Growth and Heritage Action fought these initiatives every step of the way and threatened to use their scorecards to downgrade lawmakers who voted for them. In October, they lost the battle when Speaker John Boehner put a clean bill on the floor to fund the government and avert default (although most Republicans voted against it). But the budget and farm bill agreements each passed with the support of 70 percent of House Republicans, a more troubling sign for the tea party groups.

In the case of the farm bill, the groups wanted much deeper cuts to food stamps than bipartisan negotiators settled on. Michael Needham, the CEO of Heritage Action, lamented on Wednesday that their effort was thwarted by an "unholy alliance" to combine farm policy and food stamps and maintain the status quo.

So, how did things go wrong for them?"

National Weather Service predicted the ice and snow and DID warn Georgians, and metro Atlanta

It was the timing, stupid. And then there was just the stupid:

Monday, 4:53 a.m.: The National Weather Service in Atlanta issues a Winter Storm Watch, advising people to be prepared for around 0.5 to 2 inches of snow.

Tuesday, 3:39 a.m.: The National Weather Service in Atlanta upgrades the area to a Winter Storm Warning, predicting 1 to 2 inches of snow later in the day.

Tuesday, 12 p.m.–5 p.m.: About 2 inches of poorly timed snow falls across metro Atlanta, compacting into ice as temperatures dropped into the low 20s and teens throughout the evening, turning highways into skating rinks. People try to make it home from work early.

Tuesday, 1:45 p.m.: Fulton County schools suddenly announce via email they will close for the rest of the day, prompting many parents to head to the roads to pick their kids up. Gridlock hits critical mass, with traffic jams blocking progress every few hundred feet.

--Kevin O (@a23kiki23) January 28, 2014

Tuesday, early afternoon: Local liveblogs begin to chronicle the descent into anarchy that was formerly known as the Atlanta-area highway system.

Tuesday evening: Still stuck on the highways, many schools give up and stop trying to bus students home. The slumber party to end all slumber parties begins.

Wednesday, 4:10 a.m.: Despite no additional snow or ice expected, the National Weather Service in Atlanta extends the Winter Storm Warning for the Atlanta area due to “major road impacts,” warning drivers that “travel will continue to be dangerous or impossible. Only travel in an emergency.”

But the Who Is To Blame Game is in full blown finger pointing mode, so you are still not off the Mass Media hysteria hook, guys.

CNN Anchor Harrasses Black Mayor of Atlanta, ignores white Georgia Governor Deal, Mother Nature

If THAT which I just witnessed in the harassment of Mayor Kasim Reed was not the worst piece of "anger journalism" ala Fox News, I do not know the meaning of harassment. You would think the storm started and stopped at the Atlanta city limits.

Meanwhile Governor Nathan Reed gets nary a mention or blame for the chaos OUTSIDE of Atlanta?

Apparently CNN morning anchor Ms. Costello, she of the perpetually worried and angry voice, was late to work in her downtown Atlanta studio and she of course she is blaming Atlanta Mayor Reed, courteous enough to take the time to go to the CNN studio, for her overwhelming personal tragedy...... being ICE and COLD in winter! On HER morning road commute! The horror!

CNN has become a parody of its former self. With plunging ratings to boot.

Where is a toilet emergency on the high seas when you need one, Zucker might ask.

Creepy Fox News paid contributer Eric Erickson viciously smears Wendy Davis..will Fox fire him?

Erick Erickson painted the Texas Senatorial Democrat candidate as an unstable and unreliable mother who abandoned her children and left her "sugar daddy" husband when she no longer needed his money, contrary to the facts and contrary to being a half decent human being.

But, hey, no war on women at Fox or by Republicans, please look away and at our shiny brochure prepared by Freedomworks.

The sooner Fox News dies, the sooner America can move on to solutions and not just the hate.

If you can stomach the hate and obvious Mommy issues.

Sen. Marco Rubio Ends China Trip, Urges China "not to dominate its neighbours".......

"Florida Sen. Marco Rubio, often talked about as a Republican White House contender, gets back to Washington from an Asia trip just in time for the president’s speech. CNN has a piece on how the trip boosts his foreign-policy credentials. Among other things, Rubio says: “I’ve never accepted the idea that we wanted to contain China…We welcome a China that’s richer and more prosperous, because that’s a potential trading partner, customers for our products and services. What we don’t want to see is a China that uses its newfound power to dominate their neighbours.”"

Yeah, because a nation dominating its neighbours, and anyone else in the world for that matter, is the job of America and the WESTERN imperialist powers.....
Meanwhile the Imperial American Press does its best to boost anyone but Obama.

Further to Packman post: One Republican Lawmaker, Many Votes! Illegal Voting by Texas Lawmakers?

Watch the entire news reporting video, this should be a national story, it completely undermines and exposes Texas Republicans for the haters of democracy that they are.

Multiple voting is ILLEGAL, per the Texas House rules, in clear writing, subject to censure and discipline but they do it even as they restrict the voting rights of citizens.

The video is an excellent journalistic piece that exposes the deep corruption and hatred of democracy of Texas Republicans, a kiss my ass attitude that must end.

Is Real Clear Politics website yet another right wing propaganda site designed to mislead?

I have to ask because I saw this title link on the front page "Obama to Launch Populist Assault on GOP", clicked on it, leading to a Washington Post article entitled "Democrats hope Obama’s State of Union speech will be start of populist agenda", by Zachary A. Goldfarb, Published: January 27.

So Real Clear Politics creates it OWN title for the article, to meet its own agenda?

Isn't there a law against that? Even DU does not permit such lying.

"Obama to Launch Populist Assault on GOP" plays the Obama is a tyrant and the GOP is the victim cards very well, nothing to do with the articles theme. Or reality. But propaganda just is like that.

The Washington Post should review its link share agreement with RCP, I would think.

Another example: RCP created headline is "Carney: GOP Threatening To "Inflict Serious Damage On The Economy" At A Time When It's "Poised To Grow"".

RCP turns a criticism of the GOP never ending hostage taking over the debt limit to an absurdly twisted headline.
See what they did, even MORE threats from the tyrant out of control Obama regime!

Actual quote:

CARNEY: Well, our view is and our position is what it has always been. The American people cannot and the president will not on their behalf pay a ransom, an ideological ransom so -- just so that Congress will do its job and pay the bills that Congress has racked up. That’s just irresponsible. *It would be, again, to inflict serious damage on the economy and the middle class at a time when the economy is poised to grow further and to create even more jobs*

So, you know, we're not going to pay a ransom. When it comes to insuring that the United States doesn't default for the first time in its history. We saw this movie before, and a lot of republicans, including senior republican leaders on Capitol Hill, said aft the shutdown and after that disastrous ideological effort that they would not go down that road again. So we certainly hope that that's the case.

The American world map of shame: U.S. Income Inequality Compared To The World

"Blue countries are more equal than the U.S., red countries are less equal. This map gives you a sense of just how severe economic inequality is in the United States; much higher than in any other developed country, and most developing countries as well."

"Perhaps most damning is China, significantly more equal than the U.S. with a Gini coefficient of 0.415, where the severe income gap has been a source of worsening political instability for almost 20 years. Leagues ahead of the U.S. on income inequality is India, Gini coefficient 0.368, where outrage over corruption and income inequality recently inspired a protest movement that shook the world's largest democracy. (The data for India is from 2004, however; income inequality has likely worsened since then.) Russia, which has seen three popular revolutions in the last century against the caviar-shoveling oligarchs who still run everything, is also less unequal than the U.S., at 0.422 Gini."

Meanwhile the Western countries with the greatest inequality send their emissaries to Davos to complain about all the complaining by the Great Unwashed, the severely perplexed Corporate Overlords are puzzled as to why they are not being worshipped throughout the world as Great Men fulfilling their roles, to be "looked up to and admired" even as the ungrateful minions scrabble for insects to eat outside their refugee tents.

Meanwhile Fox News Brings Out The Big Guns to screech about President Obama making income inequality a highlight of tomorrow's SOTU speech.....Fox News wants to end the debate before it begins and things like the maps above sink in with the voters.
