Steve Scalise: The Massacre In Las Vegas Only Fortified My Opposition To Gun Control

Fox News’s Martha MacCallum asked Rep. Steve Scalise in an interview to be aired later Tuesday if his experience and the deadly mass shooting in Las Vegas on Sunday night have changed his views about the Constitution’s Second Amendment. “I think it’s fortified it,” Scalise said.

“Because first of all you’ve got to recognize that when there’s a tragedy like this, the first thing we should be thinking about is praying for the people who were injured and doing whatever we can to help them, to help law enforcement. We shouldn’t first be thinking of promoting our political agenda,” Scalise said.

Breitbart Editor: If You Want To Survive A Mass Shooting, Maybe You Should Hit The Treadmill...

Breitbart Editor Alex Marlow: If You Want To Survive A Mass Shooting, Maybe You Should Hit The Treadmill

“Regarding running, which we talked a little bit about with Jonathan Gilliam — and I’m a little bit reluctant to use humor at this movement in time because it’s a dark moment but I will anyway. Those of you who listen to the show with some regularity have heard me mention that I’m a horror movie fan. And one of the fun horror movie comedies that’s really great over the last five or six years or so is the movie called Zombieland, where they actually put together a survival guide for how to survive the Zombie apocalypse and rule number one: cardio. Rule number one is cardio. So if you want to survive a major attack, maybe the first thing to do is hit the treadmill a little bit.” – Breitbart editor-in-chief Alex Marlow, speaking today on their SiriusXM channel.

I'm assuming Marlow is referring to that totally out-of-shape veteran that died:

In order to do that in a civilized society, "we maybe have to give up a little bit of our privacy"

Does allowing guns to be so freely available provide a great excuse for the government to further erode what's left of our privacy?

'We maybe have to give up a little bit of our privacy,' says ex-NYC police head after Vegas shooting

• "I believe the No. 1 civil right is to be free from harm," Howard Safir says.
• In order to do that in a civilized society, "we maybe have to give up a little bit of our privacy," he says.
• The Las Vegas concert massacre is the deadliest mass shooting in U.S. history.

Americans may need to give up some of their freedoms to protect against attacks such as Sunday night's Las Vegas concert massacre, said Howard Safir, former New York City police commissioner.

"Let me preface what I'm about to say, so the civil libertarians understand what I'm saying, I believe the No. 1 civil right is to be free from harm. And in order to do that in a civilized society ... we maybe have to give up a little bit of our privacy," Safir told CNBC's "Squawk on the Street" on Monday.

"We need to make people responsible for the guns they own. I'm not saying that we should do away with Second Amendment rights," he said. "What I'm saying is, for instance, we should have a required safety check every year of somebody who purchases a gun. Bring in your weapon."

Mean tweets haunt Trumps gay nominee at confirmation hearing

Richard Grenell's history of assholery on Twitter came back to bite his Quisling ass today during his Senate confirmation hearing to be US ambassador to Germany.

Sen. Chris Murphy (D-Conn.) took issue with Grenell’s remarks — saying he brought it up privately with the nominee and wished to bring it up publicly — referring to the tweets in his role as a Fox News commentator prior to his nomination earlier this month for the role in the Trump administration.

Murphy said the “litany of derogatory comments about women’s personal appearances” were among the “very inflammatory things” said by the nominee, asking him if he regrets the statement and can understand the concern about the impact they’ll have on his role in Germany.

Contrite in his response, Grenell said it was “never my intention to hurt anyone’s feelings” and denied the comments were representative of his character. Murphy said he wouldn’t say aloud Grenell’s remarks, but they were directed at the appearances of Hillary Clinton, Madeleine Albright, Callista Gingrich and Rachel Maddow.

One 2011 tweet directed at Maddow, a lesbian news anchor on MSNBC, said she “needs to take a breath and put on a necklace” and another compared her look to that of pop singer Justin Bieber. One tweet directed at Gingrich questioned whether she “snaps on” her hair. At around the same time, Grenell tweeted “Hillary is starting to look like Madeleine Albright.”

Some of Grenell’s most offensive tweets were deleted during the ten minutes he was with Mitt Romney’s 2012 campaign before he was forced to resign after hate radio host Bryan Fischer screamed to anybody who would listen. But he soon returned to his dickish ways, generating gasps when he tweeted an accusation that NBC reporter Katy Tur had slept her way into her job.

Is Trump trying to incite a civil war?

I'm not sure if this has been asked yet but it should be, so here it is.

Is Donald Trump trying to incite a civil war?

I say YES, he's trying to indeed.

How about you?
