Eating Bacon Is Better for the Environment Than Eating Lettuce, New Study Says

http://www.weather.com/science/environment/news/bacon-better-than-lettuce-for-environment

I would have thought any meat would be bad for the environment moreso then a vegetable. I am kinda surprised. This will be good news for those that have bacon for breakfast. Lettuce eaters may have to reconsider the consequences of eating lettuce.

Good Grief. On Twitter, they are yelling and screaming about President Carter banning Iranians from

coming to the United States that he did by Executive Order. The evil never stops.

It is ugly......I really want to delete my Twitter account because of this. These spoiled brats are nasty.

Trump demands $5 million from CNN to participate in next Republican debate

http://www.washingtontimes.com/news/2015/nov/30/donald-trump-demands-5-million-cnn-participate-nex/

Like a star football player holding out before training camp, Donald Trump said he may demand CNN pay him to be in next presidential debate.

At a campaign rally in Macon, Georgia, Mr. Trump said he pulls in such big ratings that he deserves $5 million from CNN.

“I won’t do the debate unless they pay me 5 million dollars,” said the real-estate tycoon worth billions.

Mr. Trump told his audience at the rally, according to CBS News, that the network was treating him unfairly, over its coverage of his meeting with black pastors earlier in the day. He then queried them whether the network should pay him because the ratings spikes, for which he has frequently taken credit, lets the networks charge more for advertising.

“You have to tell me because I know what they’re going to say,” Mr. Trump said. “‘Trump is a chicken’ … One thing I’m not is chicken, okay?”

Mr. Trump, who frequently speaks off the cuff, then said he didn’t know whether “I wanna take the chance.”

Mr. Trump said he would donate the $5 million to veterans.

The next debate, which CNN will sponsor and air live, is set for Dec. 15 in Las Vegas.

In a letter to CNN president Jeff Zucker before the first presidential debate in September, he spoke similarly, saying the network should donate its advertising profits to veterans groups.

“While I refuse to brag, and you know very well, this tremendous increase in viewer interest is due 100% to Donald J. Trump,” he wrote then.

Boy, 10, gets 2 deer with one bullet on first hunt

http://woodtv.com/2015/11/27/boy-10-gets-2-deer-with-one-bullet-on-first-hunt/

WISCONSIN (WBAY) — Every hunter remembers their first buck and the story of how they got it. But a 10-year-old boy from Wisconsin had a rare experience that some may call beginner’s luck.

“I wanted to go hunting this year because I really wanted a deer,” said 10-year-old Kyler Verbeten.

Kyler went out hunting Sunday with his dad, with his gun for the first time.

“This squirrel kept distracting me, so I kept watching the squirrel,” said Kyler. “The squirrel was just jumping from tree to tree, everything. It was just doing weird stuff.”

Kyler and his dad eventually saw two deer in the woods.

“I said, shoot the big doe, because there was a smaller one,” said Matt Verbeten, Kyler’s dad. “He had the gun, and I’m kind of laughing, we’ll see how he does, he’s 10…”

Kyler’s first shot missed the target.

“I said, ‘Shoot again,’ he puts it back up, BOOM. They just fell right over,” said Matt.

Kyler’s second bullet hit and killed two deer, the shot going through both animals.

“I was so excited I almost jumped out of the stand,” said Kyler, “I just ran down the ladder and ran out there to look at them.”

Glad they caught them. They were so young and now have ruined their lives along with the victim and family. Just a horrible story all around.

New ISIS video threatens attack on White House

The Dijla branch of the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS) released a new video depicting unidentified jihadists celebrating the recent attacks on Paris and vowing the attacks would "conclude with the so-called White House."

In the video - titled "Paris Before Rome" -- militants warn French President Francois Hollande, U.S. President Barack Obama "and those who follow in his footsteps" to expect more strikes.

"We shall burn you with our suicide belts and our car bombs. We shall track you down wherever you go," a militant proclaims.

The jihadists warn that the attacks on France would expand to Washington, D.C.

"We began with you, and we shall conclude with the so-called White House. We shall turn it even blacker than our fire by the will of Allah," a militants says in the video. "Better still ... we shall blow it up just like we blew up the idols on this good land."

The movie "Truth"

Well I just got back from seeing the movie "Truth" about Dan Rather and CBS story about George Bush's National Guard time.

Ok first thing. The acting was great.

The story was unbelievable. Not sure what they were trying to do but what they showed was a complete incompetence of a group of reputable reporters who turned a story into a completely negligent mess. It is actually embarrassing how horrible they screwed up.

I would be interested in other reactions. I think I am going to see a lot of agreement in my assessment.

I wanted to cheer for this movie but instead was very disappointed in the reporters and the lost opportunity to really find the truth about President Bush. I doubt that President Bush even knew about this mess.

Senate Passes Budget That Would Fund Government Into 2017

Source: NPR

The Senate passed a bill at 3:12 a.m. Friday that would raise the debt ceiling and fund the government into 2017. This means that there would be no fiscal standoffs and threats of government shutdown for more than a year.

The measure is now on its way to the White House for President Obama's signature, NPR's Ailsa Change reports for the Newscast unit:

"For months, there was real concern the looming Nov. 3 deadline to lift the debt ceiling was going to send Congress into crisis mode, right when it was picking a new Speaker of the House.
"But now Congress has days to spare, having passed a budget agreement that raises the debt ceiling until March 2017. The deal also increases federal spending by $80 billion over the next two years — splitting that amount evenly between defense and domestic programs.
"The agreement was negotiated by former Speaker John Boehner, three other congressional leaders and the White House. The newly elected Speaker, Paul Ryan, supported the deal but says he'll ensure a more inclusive process next time important legislation is at stake."
As we reported earlier this week, the package also includes provisions that delay a hike in Medicare premiums, sell oil from the emergency reserve to offset spending, and shift Social Security money around.

"The Social Security Disability Insurance fund will, as of right now, be unable to pay full benefits late next year, when it would have to slash them by 19 percent. This bill would shift money from the old age fund and into the disability fund — a tactic Congress has used several times before."

Discuss......Looks like the Democratic Senators went with quite a few Republicans. Of course Rand Paul, Ted Cruz and Marco Rubio all tried to filibuster it and failed as usual.

Melissa Harris discusses hard worker and why not to use that phrase

I never thought about it before watching the show but she makes a very good point. We do need to be careful on who we call a hard worker. I know I will keep this in mind from now on.
