My ongoing journey as a guitar builder
A few recent additions to my collection...
A 5-string homage to the Peavey T-40
A copy of a Mockingbird
and some quad coil pickups I'm building for it
And last but not least, a 7-string that's waiting for its pickups to arrive
I think I'm going to need a bigger wall!
Have to share a track I just CANNOT get enough of lately...
All three of these guys are on a level unto themselves, but this bassist (Henrik Linder) in particular.
O. M. G.
A handy field guide for the various types of nuts.
So I got invited to support a GoFundMe campaign to challenge Steve Cohen for his seat in Congress.
This dude genuinely is a good person. We've been friends for 40 years, were inseparable in and for a while after high school, and were roomies in our early 20's. He's got a heart of gold, and I love him like a brother, but he's not the sharpest tool in the shed, which largely accounts for his being a Republican, which is in and of itself enough reason for me to be completely unwilling to support him running against Cohen (for whom my best friend worked on the Hill).
This is the same guy who told me that he supported Trump because he wanted the government to be run like a business, and "government and business are both all about checks and balances"....
As in "checkbooks and balance sheets".
I shudder at the thought of more people in Congress who are that ignorant of basic civics.
This is great... Opinion Rhapsody
So I decided on a whim a few months ago to try building a bass guitar, just to keep myself occupied.
Turns out I'm WAY better at building them than I am at playing them.
AND, I have a friend that can really play to help me put them through their paces!
Built my first one from a kit.
For this second one, however, I did all myself, with the exception of the premade neck.
I'm not mad at it!
Bubinga veneer on solid black walnut body, dyed maple neck.
Series Humbucker / Single Coil / Parallel Humbucker coil splitting, with phase switches for each pup.
3-band active/passive preamp.
Peach is the new orange
Early phase redaction draft summary released.
