Peabody and Sherman...DU style (or ,why all the negative attacks).

With the Democratic primary season well underway, the ghosts of primaries past are already rearing
their ugly heads.

The attacks ( or perceived attacks ) here on DU of Democratic candidates seem to be happening
on a daily basis and many have a familiar deja vu quality about them. Well I
had a free day yesterday to go exploring for older DU posts and I came across this
wonderful site...

search the history of over 357 billion web pages.

Type www.democraticunderground.com into the Wayback Machine and get ready to explore

My internet search specifically concentrated on past posts on DU and on the bizzaro
anti-Democratic site Jack Pine Radicals (which I wont type the link here but you can find on Google).
I searched the Jack Pine Radicals site because most of the old posts and members
lists have been purged and I was VERY curious to see why and I know there are others who wonder too.

Not every day is represented, but the hundreds of page screen shots will give the curious a LOT to digest.

I concentrated on the year 2016 at DU and I was dismayed by the number of anti-Democratic posts I
found there all the way up to the general election and beyond. Most of the negative posts were from long
FFRed and PPRed DU members, but sadly many posts and responses are from DU members who left for a
while and have returned and some who stayed.

I will not post any of the disturbing links that I found at this time since I'm posting the link to the archive for fellow
DUers to use or not.

I do encourage the curious at DU to take a stroll down this particular memory lane. But be sure to wear hip
boots for much of 2016.

A joke to help ease today's tensions....

One Saturday night at 8 o'clock in the evening just outside a small town in Kentucky, there is a knock at the door at an old farm house. The owner, an old woman wearing an old pink housecoat answers the door.

"Who the hell are you?" She yells at the weary visiter standing at her door.

"I'm Congressman Paul Ryan, and my car broke down 5 miles up the road. Can you give me a place to sleep for the night?".

"Well..." The old woman says, " I really have no room in my house, but you could sleep in my barn. It's nice and warm, but you'll have to share it with my 3 pigs and 2 goats...and they are smelly disgusting creatures."

Ryan says "That's fine. I'm so tired I can sleep anywhere tonight."

So the old woman makes him a comfy bed in the barn and she goes back in the house and goes back to bed.

About 9 pm, there is a loud knock at the door. It's Paul Ryan again.

"You were right" He says. "Those animals are too smelly and discusting. Can I please sleep in the house.

The old woman makes him a bed on the floor in the living room and he goes right to sleep.

About 10 pm, there is another loud knock at the door.

It is Senator Mitch McConnell

"My car broke down up the road aways. Can I have a bed for the night?"

"Well..." The old woman says, " I really have no room in my house, but you could sleep in my barn. It's nice and warm, but you'll have to share it with my 3 pigs and 2 goats...and they are smelly disgusting creatures."

McConnell says "That's fine. I'm so tired I can sleep anywhere tonight."

So the old woman makes him a comfy bed in the barn and she goes back in the house and goes to bed.

Around 11 pm, there's loud knocking at the door once again. It's Senator McConnell.

You were right" He says. "Those animals are too smelly and discusting. Can I please sleep in the house.

The old woman makes him a bed on the floor in the kitchen and he goes right to sleep.

About midnight, there is another loud knock at the door.

This time its Donald Trump.

"My car broke down up the road...no cell service....terrible place... Sad! Can I have a bed for the night?"

Well..." The old woman says, " I really have no room in my house, but you could sleep in my barn. It's nice and warm, but you'll have to share it with my 3 pigs and 2 goats...and they are smelly disgusting creatures."

Trump says " This is nothing like Trump tower but I don't sleep much and it will be for only a few hours.

So the old woman makes yet another comfy bed in the barn (which Trump complains about) and she goes back in the house and goes back to bed.

Around 1 am, there is frantic Knocking at the door once again.








The old woman answers the door.....










Standing there are 3 pigs and 2 goats...............

I personally have never advocated violence in any form but It's looking more and more that this question may be asked over and over again to parents by the next generation.

Too many Americans won't simply sit quietly at home and die or starve or allow their love ones to do so because of a fascist tyrant and his minions craving for control and power.

It will come down to the question that many are contemplating tonight... When do we as peace loving Americans reach our tipping points and how long do we wait before action becomes absolutely necessary and before it is impossible to act.

Sadness and anger fills me at this point. But when does the anger and fear for our families, friends and ourselves make the discission if not an easy one, critical for survival.

Your opinions dear DUers.

I sincerely hope Tom Arnold has what he claims and he is playing Trumps own game...

A true January surprise.

Tom may be releasing just enough info to the press and Trumps people and Trump
himself to keep their minds unfocused while they choose the final members of his
future cabinet and to throw a mental monkey wrench into the planning of the gala
inauguration celebration.

If played right...releasing tidbits over the next few weeks and then giving
the Trumpsters a grand-slam a day or two before the inauguration, this will
result in the press, twitter and the American public only talking about the
released tapes and not the bigly festivities and the new president elect. It will
be everywhere raining on Trumps parade and inundating social media.

Remember... its the U.S of A reality show now folks.

This will enrage Trump and virtually destroy his hopes of the grandest, hugest,
inauguration in history. And no, he will NOT like this attention.

It would be glorious!!!

So keep fingers and toes crossed folks. This could get fun.

A new Russian reality show where crimes are “allowed” will begin next year.

Game2: Winter will strand 30 contestants in the -40F (-40C) Siberian wilderness for nine months with the surviving winner receiving a $1.6m prize. It will stream 24/7 online.
