I just saw a live barrage of rockets being launched

Northwards from Gaza city. I was watching Agenda-Free on YouTube.

This is going to bring airstrikes.

Hamas also announced they had launched. Murdering terrorist scum.

Lily cat has passed.

Lily cat passed over the rainbow bridge today at 445 pm. We knew today would be the day since the cancer had become expediently worse over the last week. This morning we made the appointment at her vet. She left us in mine and my daughter's arms.

I am so devastated right now but at least she is out of the pain that she suffered.

I will respond later to any replies. This evening will be for morning.

UPDATED.......

Thank you everyone for your kind words and understanding in this painful time. Bless all of you.

Update on Lily cat...

Took her in to get stitches out but as we feared, the stitches wouldn't hold. Since the stitches didn't take the wound from the biopsy wont heal. She's eating but having issues with defecating so giving her pumpkin to help. She is definitely slowing down.

Having to clean area twice a day with antibiotic solution. Pain meds and antibiotics twice a day. So very sad. She really chose me to be her human and this is heartbreaking. But we'll give her all the love and attention she needs until till it's her time. Probably this will be very soon.

I'll have to be the one to make the decision. I don't want her to suffer. She is starting to seek out places to be alone so I know the time is nearing.

My sister bought a pet stroller for her and the boys so I'll take her out for a walk this evening when it cools down.

Took this a few minutes ago. She's had pain meds and is resting.

Terrible news about our furbaby Lily.

Our sweet lily cat has been diagnosed with terminal cancer. She is almost 16 and began showing a lesion on her butt some weeks ago and we took her to the vet and they told us it may only be an infected anal gland and they prescribed antibiotics. After the meds ran out, and it was worse, we took her back in and the prescribed more antibiotics and scheduled a biopsy for last Thursday.

The biopsy was very hard on her and we got her a puffy flower shaped cone so she could be more comfortable. The results came back Wedneday as positive and it is a rare cancer mostly found in dogs. We could see a specialist but they said it may not do any good and would probably require reconstructive surgery as well.

She gets the stitches out Thursday and we will talk with the vet about how to make her comfortable for her last days.

She still really likes her food and treats and we are giving her all the love and attention she can soak up.

I am so sad. Even though she is my sister's fur baby...who appeared on her doorstep as a kitten...she always seeks me out for attention.

I'll try to post photos soonest.

My heart aches.

The rise in retail theft calls for the return of Gemco type businesses.

Who here remembers Gemco?

Gemco was a membership store that was huge like a warehouse, and had only sample items on display so nothing could be pilfered. Below is a link to the Gemco Wikipedia page.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gemco

Modernizing check out and delivery options ...for both instore and online purchases plus knowledgable employees helping customers on the floor, would have a drastic effect on containing product loss.

There would always be a large warehouse team fulfilling customers orders and customers could actually see the product before purchasing unlike Amazon.

I worked in a Gemco store in the 80s demonstrating Hoover vacuum cleaners and I think Gemco was in many ways ahead of its it's time.

Let me know what you think.

A heads up DUers... in coming disrupters.

The ugly stepsister site JPR seems to be effectively off line the past 4 or 5 days. Every post comes up as unavailable including the site administrators information.

Not too long ago there were posts on JPR stating they would possibly be going off line if they got too much attention from the media and/or were possibly investigated because of their pro Russian views and propaganda.

Look for an influx of trolls and anti democratic posts due to returning disrupters and possible Russian trolls.

Many of us remember the last time and will be watchful.

Be strong, be aware, be ready.

Update: The internet is forever. www.archive.org has hundreds of JPR posts from this year alone.

NEW UPDATE on covid in the home and a plea.

My sister and daughter have recovered well from their bout with covid but are left with lingering coughs. I truly believe that the vaccine saved my sisters life. I stayed negative through it all and think I dodged a major bullet.

Thank you all for your support and well wishes. Below is my fundraiser link for those with the ability to help but I understand that times are rough for everyone now.

Blessings all.

............................................................................

It's been a very rough couple of weeks with covid in the home.

My daughter still is testing positive well after 10 days, but symptoms are gone except for a lingering cough. My sister also did get it as well and has been sick for over a week. This has caused her to go to a covid dialysis site until its run its course. She is doing better now though but was very sick for a time.

Me, I'm still testing negative. I've quarantined myself to my room and only come out to use the bathroom and shower. My own private solitary hell with cold canned food, bread, cheese and bottled water.

Unfortunately, covid has also led to a stress related temporary disability taking me out of the job market until who knows when. Cant even leave home without panic attacks and have to rely on grocery delivery for my basic needs.

I have also been forced to apply for early Social Security and have started a GoFundMe page to raise rent and bill money (getting Snap for food already and a bit over $200 month from general relief) until the Social Security kicks in.

If anyone on DU can help out it would be greatly appreciated though I know many of you are in the same situations and state of mind.

Below is the link to the fundraiser and I'll keep you appraised of how things are going.

All of you here have been a great support and light at the end of a dark tunnel.

Thank you.

My daughter tested positive for covid.

My daughter, my sister (who is on dialysis), and I share an apartment.

People at her work started getting sick and she came down with a sore throat Saturday night. She has spent the last 3 days at her boyfriend's home and the test just came back today.

My sister is very immune compromised and now is coughing with sore throat and I am also at risk and feel a bit weak but no cough yet.

Will have to see if I can get tested tomorrow.

Please send all the positive energy you can. Very frightened.

Fuck all the antivaxers and may karma return upon them everything they deserve.

..........

Thank you all for the well wishes and energy. I'll keep you all updated. Going to check on my sister and get some rest.

Goodnight DUers.

Got my first dose of the Pfizer vaccine...WOOHOO...

And my extension for unemployment finally went through (should of happened in January).

That with the stimulus and Biden being president , it's been a good month.
