Since the word "liberal" has pretty much been demonized beyond repair by the RW, I say we start using the term "The Woken" when referring to ourselves and I think it's a far better replacement
I say we should totally own that term in all it's forms and I think it sounds, not only like a group who's wide awake and aware, but also strong and even a bit ominous.
IDK, what do you guys think?
Personally, I'm going to start using it and spread it everywhere politics are discussed and even in a few places where it is not.

Did you know that Joe Biden is personally in charge of prosecuting President Donald Trump just because he wants to eliminate his political opponent who will beat him really, really bad otherwise? Also, he's a great big mean poopie head who's also a major criminal along with his whole family and the entire state of Delaware. Besides, Joe Biden had just tons of Top Secret documents in his garage under his Corvette which is way more serious than what President Trump didn't even do in the first place, so there!
Poor, beleaguered President Trump had no idea those boxes of classified documents were there or weren't given back when asked. But apparently he declassified them anyway. Apparently, Joe Biden personally led an army of FBI agents to break into Mar a Lago like a gang of thugs, who all had it in for poor President Trump along with their entire evil organization. Also the DOJ and Joe Biden's meat puppet, Merick Garland, really hate Trump too and will do anything to bring him down.
Also, Hillary Clinton is involved in this witch hunt in some fashion even though she had millions of secret documents in a server she bleached. One guest didn't think the country would put up with them picking on poor President Trump and Democrats were just horrible monsters and enemies of the State.
Fox has manufactured a whole different universe for their viewers to live in totally divorced from reality.

If the Repugs take back Congress ... there'll be no stopping them.
They'll figure if overturning Roe doesn't motivate enough Dems to vote, why they'll put up with whatever we decide to do.
Next on the chopping block ... birth control and LBGTQ protections and after that, SS, Medicare and Medicaid.
Oh, and elections.

I refer, of course, to Florida Man or less sarcastically to the good people of Florida (such as myself) who will no doubt be preoccupied with what may well turn out to be a major hurricane.
We don't know at this point where the storm will make landfall but loss of electricity for many is probably a given since the electric companies usually turn it off on purpose for safety concerns until the wind dies down and they can assess whatever damage may or may not have occured.
Sure, they can watch it later at some point if they care to and the MAGA's will no doubt ignore it altogether anyway but there may still be moderate GOPers and independents who could possibly be persuaded.
Add to that the fact that the major networks will be covering the hurricane instead and that the event itself would normally displace any other story and will certainly be excuse to do so mid week.
Unfortunate.
Donald Trump is the most dangerous person since Adolph Hitler.
He may well be even more dangerous if he somehow manages to get elected POTUS again. He’ll destroy all remaining mores and traditions in the political arena and if there’s not a law somehow enacted preventing it; Trump will do it.
Shit, he might do it anyway even if there is a law against it and end up getting away with it.
He certainly Nazified the GOP successfully and they trip all over themselves trying to please the orange menace and gain his favor. Watch that judge in Florida rule that Trump certainly does have executive privilege since Biden isn’t the real President.
Cassowary attack: giant bird kills owner in Florida after he fell.

“It looks like it was accidental. My understanding is that the gentleman was in the vicinity of the bird and at some point fell. When he fell, he was attacked,” the deputy chief, Jeff Taylor, told the newspaper.
Cassowaries are similar to emus. They can be up to 2 meters (6ft) tall and weigh up to 60kg (130lb), with black body feathers and bright blue heads and necks.
The San Diego zoo’s website calls cassowaries the world’s most dangerous bird with a 10cm dagger-like claw on each foot.
“The cassowary can slice open any predator or potential threat with a single swift kick. Powerful legs help the cassowary run up to 31 miles per hour (50km/h) through the dense forest underbrush,” the website says.
The Gainesville Sun says the man was breeding them, but for what purpose we can only imagine.
