No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalI suspected you were not your usual self; it's understandable and I share some of your present
situation - some isolation, faltering energy, aware of decreased motivation, etc.
I don't have a lot of answers, but can recommend some little things...
- I make sure I do what I can to get eight hrs sleep, even if it means a very late start to the day.
(I've told anyone who might contact me that I don't take calls before noon. That works fairly well, but not perfect.)
- I try to take advantage of sunny days and sit outside for a while. I find the sun healing both physically and spiritually.
- Observe nature around you - birds, flora and fauna. They give a sense of peace of mind. Occasionally go to a quiet public
park and observe the people, younger and older, and their pets.
-Eat regularly - healthy though not fancy or heavy meals, take enough fluid to not be dehydrated.
- Like you, I'm especially adverse to seeing or hearing rancorous politicians or pundits. PBS offers programs of interest or
entertainment which pass the time pleasantly.
- I'm not so good about phoning people, but lately I've begun writing a brief card or note to a relative or friend. I'm also
posting what I know of family history on Facebook for younger relatives, as so much of that information will be lost when I
pass on.
Forgive those who need forgiving.
That's it for tonight. You've been well attended to by DUers above. Will be back in touch soon.
Sympathy to 18 boy and to family; it hurts.
Good memories of Jerry Springer when he was council member and mayor of Cincinnati,
and subsequently a well-liked newscaster on WLWT.
Jerry Springer was mayor of Cincinnati after the check incident.
He was a young city councilman at the time when wrote the check.
He resigned from city council when the check became known.
He ran again for council and was re-elected and subsequently chosen as mayor.
After serving as mayor, he became a very popular newscaster on local radio, ending his newscasts with " Take care of yourself and each other."
Jerry Springer was very personable and quite well-liked in Cincinnati.
Because of pregnancy and other reproductive issues, women see doctors regularly
throughout their child-bearing years. Vitals and women's organs other than reproductive are therefore checked more regularly than in those in men's bodies. Men very often do not visit physicians or have medical intervention for most of their adult lives, unless they noticeably contract an illness or are in an accident, etc.
It's men themselves who do not prioritize their own health; most wives and family would be happy to have men tend to health issues.
I believe those 5 states have 7 US Reps between them.
ID and MT each have 2, WY, ND, & SD each have one.
Fewer US Reps than US Senators.
Has Mitch McConnell returned to the Senate as yet?
If not, what is his physical status?
