No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalIt's later than we think!
Time flies by.
Old friends, with whom you shared your youth or early adulthood, know you ina way that later friends never will.
Old friends know where you're coming from when you speak or interacting with them.
And many are gone in the blink of an eye, forever.
So sorry. It hurts....
It sounds as though you're plenty familiar with the ins and outs of retirement finance.
That's a good thing.
The IRA was originally my spouse's, so I inherited it, and, God willing, our children will inherit the balance.
I am no longer eligible to convert traditional IRA to Roth, because total income is too great. While we were a two-person household it was possible tax-wise, and we have a smallish one, but not after I became a single person.
I'm in that age bracket, well diversified financially, and am down 10% of portfolio YTD.
Of course, that's on paper only, no need to make changes or sell at this time.
Have a very good financial advisor, one who doesn't panic or make changes precipitously.
We came back quite well from the problems in 2008.
From my perspective, the losses now, at the end of Dec. mean that my RMD requirement will be lower this year than otherwise - a good thing.
I've read that she makes secret visit to NYC; I imagine she also spends time with Barron
and her parents.
Sorry, can't remember the source re NYC trips.
And what about Barron? Does he even live in the White House; I've also read (somewhere?) that he spends a lot of time with his grandparents and is bilingual in English and Slovakian.
(I would imagine that hearing a language he doesn't understand would drive Donald bonkers.)
Senator Jim Bunning of Kentucky said something similar when Justice Ginsburg had a pancreatic
cancer in 2009. Bunning said Justice Ginsburg had "cancer- the kind you don't get better from."
Jim Bunning died in May 2017, but Ruth Ginsburg survives!
People such as Bill O'Reilly don't learn from others. He is a loser.
An innocent child, at the mercy of uncaring and ruthless adults. nt
Several things in common, including 2 knees replaced, driving (just renewed my driver's license..)
I'm still in my one-floor but too big house.
I use a Hurricane when out of the house, to avoid unknown uneven spots, but happy to say, no falls as yet.
Fewer old-time friends still around or active, but treasuring remaining family and friends even more.
Keep laughing!
It still beats the alternative!.....
Beto/Landrieu for me.
Sherrod Brown is my senator also.
He does great work for Ohio and for the American people.
He'll be available either as a Senate leader or a very able Cabinet member.
Jimmy's book signing Dec. 5 will likely be delayed.
He and Rosalyn will attend GHWB's funeral, wherever it is.
