Because I am a senior, in the winter of my years, as they say,
I pray daily for strength and wisdom.
Those virtues seem ever more important as we see the incoming administration, known for holding values contrary to those that have served humanity well over the centuries.
With strength, we will not be pulled down in anger or defeat, but go about our lives in serenity, turning off as necessary the pervading noise around us.

Under normal circumstances there would be no guessing, and I don't honestly believe there will be action tomorrow sufficient to change the expected result.

Gingrich is a little long in the tooth.
Perhaps he really no longer wants that kind of structured position or role in government.
He's likely content to sound off at special events, or as a (paid) speaker/lecturer and author, making the round of talk shows, author tours, and punditry events.
I am reminded of the inexperienced, too young civilian staffers Bush & Co.
sent to Iran to administer that country when the US had "liberated" Iran.
