She looks old beyond her years in photos; not wise, not mature, but mimicking "glamourous" women

in their 20's. 30's.

Very sad. She needed a Mom present for her.
Hope she doesn't truly mess up her life beyond fixing.

October is a little on the late side. Absentee/mail-in ballots go out to voters in early October.

Give us the best by mid-September at the latest, so everyone can chew on it, absorb what they don't vomit, then vote.

Of course, many of us could vote today - we know wayyyyyy too much, more than we ever wanted to know.

Hasn't Ruth Bader Ginsburg been treated rather successfully over the years for pancreatic cancer,

among other cancers?

I recall Sen. Jim Bunning of KY saying years ago that she would be gone within months, and, of course, she's still here and Jim Bunning has been gone for years.

That's really an aside, but my point is that Justice Ginsburg has had somewhat successful treatment. If I were in the same circumstances I would want as much information as available about her treatment. I imagine those physicians who work with pancreatic cancer would be aware of that. Not suggesting to go to her hospitals per se, but get knowledge of methods used and find out who uses similar treatment.

Poor Dad. As for his religiosity, as a fellow Catholic and near his age, make available to him all that brings him comfort re faith, so that he at least can come to peace in that area. Do not push hope of miracles, but pray with him as he wishes and see that he has access to the sacraments, especially the Eucharist and at some point, Confession/Penance, if he wishes. My faith gives me daily comfort as a senior who realizes that earthly life may come to an end quickly or not.

Peace be with you, and your Dad and all your family.

We don't know that he actually went into the brother's room.

He may have just gone to an area where the family and new widow were gathering. Or could have viewed him through a glass-enclosed wall., etc.
Likely, brother Robert was not conscious when 45 arrived.

Incidentally, Robert just remarried in the spring. Perhaps putting things legally right with the knowledge that death would soon come a'knocking.

I agree, Larissa. I resolved the day after election 2016, that I would not let him have the power

to occupy my life and energy in such a way to take my peace from me.

I've not become totally successful in that endeavor.
But, frankly, my family and those that I love and care for, as well as the rest of my life concerns and interests are more important.

Life is too short to let others take control of your feelings.
I'm way up in years, could just sleep away at any time.
He's not worth it.
I'd rather live my life without the misery of such a person in my thoughts.

Gen Honore' is a treasure.

He has clear, practical, reasoned answers to the problems posed every day by the Trump presidency and administration.
He is a true leader with a history of results.

I look forward to Dr. Jill Biden as First Lady and hostess. She is so gracious and warm and smart.

What a refreshing change that will be. She is such an asset to Joe.

I understand that she expects to continue her work in education.
That will be an interesting balancing act, but, if anyone can do it, she will!
