The question would be - did he just accept the first right-wing explanation he read, or

did he go to the core of the situation for a more complete answer. - I'm thinking the former.

As to why he converted- I don't really know; however, it's not at all unusual for persons in a mixed-religion marriage to convert one way or another for unity of religion for their children. Also, the change from Anglicanism to Catholicism is minimal, comparatively.

As an aside, Jeb Bush is a convert to Roman Catholicism

as of 1995. He was previously an Anglican.

Yes, I understand.

I was referring to fizzgig, directly above my response, who apparently hasn't met her neighbors as yet.

Good idea to introduce yourself to neighbors.

You never know when you may need to call on them for something small - borrow an egg_ or something large - acute illness or problem needing anyone's assistance.

Good neighbors are a blessing.

My next door neighbor shovels my sidewalk when it first snows. He (or his family) often take make garbage cart to the curb the night before pickup, when getting it all the way down the hilly driveway is more than I can manage.

Sadly, I seldom see the neighbors on the other side, because my exit through my garage is on the side of my neighbor first mentioned above. But they are good neighbors re no problems and home neat and tidy.

How wonderful! A true coming home for you.

I do believe your fellow parishioners missed you all this time.
You indeed have much to be grateful for this Thanksgiving Day.
Now, if only the ride to and fro could be worked out more routinely.

My day was lovely in a more mundane way - stayed home and read DU too much (again) then hosted my four adult children at a restaurant where we had table service (as opposed to buffet, which I hate on holidays because people are always jumping up and down and conversations are continuously interrupted so that dinner is not relaxed.) I had filet mignon and only ate half, so will have a good second round tomorrow. I did have a mini pecan pie for dessert, though.
