No Vested Interest's JournalLt. governor candidate Eric Kearney steps down from Dem. ticket
Within days after Democratic candidate for Governor Ed FitzGerald announced Eric Kearney of Cincinnati as his running mate, reports of past and present unpaid debts surfaced in various Ohio newspapers. Among the unpaid bills are taxes due the federal government as well as the state of Ohio.
It soon became obvious that these problems, which Sen. Kearney attributes to difficulties stemming from the newspaper for African-Americans that he and his wife own and manage, would be a "distraction" from the campaign Mr. FitzGerald envisioned against governor Kasich.
There are a number of possibilities to replace Sen. Kearney on the ticket, but a new choice will likely not be announced until January. Mr. FitzGerald would prefer to have a candidate from either the Cincinnati area or the Columbus area, to balance his own strengths in Cuyahoga County.

Not exactly sure - likely six or seven, maybe five.
The thing that happens is that one loud-mouth schoolmate always finds out sooner and broadcasts to the rest of the class. I guess I was not especially traumatized, in that I don't recall the exact moment.
Also, I had a younger brother and a baby sister, so I would have been urged to keep the "secret" for their sakes.
We still have color films ( back in the 40's) of some of those early Christmases, and I do remember the some of the gifts received - a muff made of bunny fur, a beautifully furnished doll house, (the baby sister broke many of those pieces), and bathrobe with a terry cloth hood.
It was all a very innocent time.
Sounds like #3 was looking for the "nurse and a purse". nt
The saying re geriatric romance among my widowed friends is
that many/most older men who are interested in the available women are are looking for
"a nurse and a purse".
I have positively no interest in that part of life, though my mother when widowed at 67 did remarry, to a widower, and she/they were relatively happy for about 10-12 years. The story is too long to finish, and out of respect for my mother, I won't.
I am, though, very happy for older guys and gals who do find the right combinations at that stage of life.
It sounds as though you're doing something right! nt
So Policy Mic says Ohio is the cursingest state
as well as the least courteous.
Don't know where and how they got that info, but it sure doesn't reflect SW Ohio.
What say you, fellow Buckeyes?
Reminds me of my college days at a all-female college
when most entering freshman gals presumed they'd be engaged by the time they graduated.
And many were.
Alas, I didn't marry till 25!
Meanwhile, my husband-to-be (but I didn't know that yet) was at an all-male college.
And likely not thinking about being engaged any time soon.
Now that photo is funny! nt
