No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalI'm sorry to say that you may have it pretty close. nt
Is that the daughter that just announced that she is pregnant?
Ivanka? Does he have only one daughter?
I know there are several sons, by several wives.
RE seeing more clearly - I was shocked to see age spots etc. and even
a few unwanted, stray hairs on my face, after cataract surgery.
Isn't $100,000 peanuts when you're talking airlines and flying?
I would think any airline, even using smaller planes, could run through $100,000 in very short order.
So very sorry you have had this loss and hurt of losing your friends.
Do not blame yourself for the death of your friend.
He obviously had physical problems for which you are not responsible, and for which your intervention likely would not have solved his problems.
You are wise to keep the door open.
Sometimes we don't know and may never know what caused the perceived (by her) problem between you and her. It likely is/was a misunderstanding of a word or a gesture or look or some thought put into her mind by another.
We sometimes just have to accept that misunderstandings are part of our human condition and sometimes things may go wrong that may never be completely set right. - Hard to accept.
(I have had a friendship abruptly ended as well, over the telephone, with no reason given. And though I miss the friendship, for we did certain activities together that my other friends have little interest in, I recognize that she was particularly sensitive and may have interpreted something I did or said (or didn't do or say) in a negative manner. It happens, and it's too bad.
Mourn for the friends you have lost. Then find peace in those who know and love and have concern for you. There is still much to celebrate in our big, beautiful world.
I have Medicare and a very good supplemental policy.
Had 2 separate cataract surgeries in July 2015.
Was billed about $25.00 for each surgery and ca $5 from the anesthetist.
One very important matter: prescriptions for eye-drops.
I was given 3 different eye-drop prescriptions. The Pharmacist told me they would cost about $600.I would have paid, if necessary, but decided to call the opthalmalogist's office before picking them up, because sometimes a person finds that they don't really need them, but filled prescriptions are not returnable.
So the person in the Doctor's office said "Don't get those prescriptions filled"; she would phone in others, which turned out to be generics. Bottom line, I only had to pay $4 each for the 3 eye-drop prescriptions.
Distance (driving) and medium distance (TV) are now done without glasses. Lower power glasses for reading & computer work.
Good luck.
You are correct, of course. Employers and HR care about these things.
Unfortunately, editors and like personnel have been cut or perceived as unnecessary expenses by too many businesses.
I was just pointing out that many here on DU do not see the ad you are referring to because a small donation was given, perhaps at Valentine's Day when the little hearts are given for a small donation.
I, for one, am so glad to not have ads on DU, as there are far too many online, on Facebook, local newspapers, and even among the obituaries listed on Legacy.com.
No ads will be visible on DU with a small donation. nt
