No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalAncestry.com has a yearbooks section
where many photos of individuals can be found in high school and college pics.
These are often group photos of clubs, teams, bands, etc, as well as individual graduation photos.
There may be other ways of locating school pictures, i.e., there are some yearbook sites and well as some school and college alumni sites that could be searched.
I saw parts of the debate on CSPAN. Jerry Brown was in command
the whole time.
A no-brainer.
Unbelievable!
Imagine telling an octogenarian to do telephone sales, or to sell what's in her garage!
Maybe they have no garage.
They may be living in a small flat or already have sold their garage leftover.
I have found much good material in genealogybank.com.
More short newspaper articles from smaller cities when life was slower and a visit or an illness was reported on.
These articles put flesh on the names of these ancestors and their families, about whom I heard little from my parents.
I did find photos of my grandfather and another of his second wife, from whom he was divorced and whose name was never spoken within our family. It seems she went up on a plane - as a passenger - in about 1920 - that was the subject of the article.
Beautiful words, beautiful put. And the bonus of the poetry
of Daniel Berrigan.
I am grateful.
When I first visited in 1958, there was not yet
a good explanation or theory of what Stonehenge was or what it meant or signified.
It was just considered a prehistoric monument of note.
It was only in later years that meaning was attached to the positioning of the stones.
I guess it took sophisticated instruments to define the relation to the sun and stars, etc.
Ah, yes, I bet Jesus' mama came through for him.
Whoever heard of a Catholic boy named Leroy? That's like naming a Catholic child Wesley or Luther - not going to happen.
Anyway, there's lots of very good, funny Catholic stories.
We should put them in the Catholicism forum, where no one's permitted to knock them!
Thanks.
It's really sort of laughable, although I recall that
Chavez himself had a devout side to him.
Maybe he wouldn't approve.
I believe this is done at one of the Catholic high schools near Cincinnati, as well.
I recall reading that the young men keep a dress jacket in their lockers and are ready to help when the call comes in.
It is not only an act of mercy but in many cases almost a necessity as so many are living to advanced age and have no one to perform this work.
What a great feeling! Now, start saving for retirement. nt
