I can't understand what Republicans see in Carson.

Many of those interviewed afterwards - by Luntz and on CNN- were so taken with Carson.

I have to admit I missed his closing statement - I just had to take a break from all the vacuous statements being made- but saw nothing to recommend him up to that point.

Clearly your legal training and experience have served you well in this instance.

Even while being of more real assistance than any others on DU have been able to render, you are able to be objective about the outcome.

Sorry to know that TTW has threatened you and ex with theft charges, etc.

Even knowing, as you know the law - setting aside the mighty efforts you and others made to accommodate Yoshi - any attempt by TTW to turn on those who did their mightiest to assist her in her grave need will surely backfire on TW in a big way, and kill any support she had - moral, financial, and physical- on DU.

It's always a great pity to do oneself in, but we all know it happens and, often, all we can do is step back and watch the implosion occur.
I do wish TTW and Yoshi well, but fear things are moving in the wrong direction for her at this time.

I thought I had read on the earlier posts from TT, but I could have it confused

with another of the personal stories I've read here.

Sometimes we have to step back, and this may be one of those times.

I feel very badly for TTW, for Yoshi, and for Msanthrope and her ex, as well as for Moosepoop and the many others, inclusing DUers and those who have donated to the gofund.me account.

We all have seen people, both those close to us and those whom we only know of remotely, make decisions that appear to not be in their best interest.
They have a right to make those decisions.
It hurts those who would make a different or even better, wiser decision. But we must step back and let the individual act.

My thoughts are offered for a good outcome for TTW and Yoshi, and gratitude for all those who have shown empathy, both materially and in thought.

President Carter just had liver surgery the other day.

He has often been on the scene for elections, but likely not available for this one.
Therefore, he would not be able to make a statement in which he would have absolute confidence.

Not so in my family of four children.

The pickiest eater - would not eat vegetables or eggs- was/is the "all-boy" type, interested in sports, and a good student.
To this day as a middle-aged adult he still eats few veggies and no eggs, but seems to get along in society fairly well.
I will admit that he has perfectionist tendencies, especially re his own performance. He has also suffered some depression - not clinical- in the past.

His father also ate no eggs, though nothing was made of it in the household.
Father was also something of a perfectionist, and suffered secondary depression in his last illness - more a function of an organic brain disease than of emotional problems.

May all be well for President Carter.

Jimmy Carter's family has been racked with pancreatic cancer, with his siblings Billy and Ruth dying relatively early from the disease, and his mother Lillian dying from the same at a later age.
It is believed that his father's family was also stricken heavily with pancreatic cancer.

Therefore, it has to have cast a shadow over Jimmy Carter's medical conditions, but he has avoided such problems, thankfully..
