No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalYou are choosing to be there and then.
I don't know if I agree with that approach, but, if you believe strongly that is your route, be sure to have a trusted someone with you.
My feeling is that redoing the event heightens and magnifies the drama, perhaps more than is healthy, but then who am I to say. Please don't allow yourself to be in a state of agitation that works against you, not for you.
Peace, Denn. You're among friends.
Please find a way to give yourself credit
for getting past that horrible time and finding your way for the past 350-some days.
Denn, you know that some of us here have lost spouses or other dear ones, and the first year is always so hard, especially until the first anniversary is past. We don't know how we will handle it.
And then, we get past the first anniversary and we breathe a deep sigh of relief and realize that we have handled it, even if not always perfectly, and we know we can go forward to out new future.
You will have similar feelings and realizations, Denn, when the dreaded date is past.
I sincerely hope you have made plans to be busy and to be with people or someone you can trust and be comfortable with. Give yourself a break of having a decent meal, preferably in a restaurant, surrounded by the variety that humanity is. Play some sweet music, perhaps something you can sing along to.
And please come back and tell us all about your day and how it was.
KY Gov. Steve Bashear is a Democrat.
KY has had a majority registered Democrats, though they tend to vote Republican, unless the registrations have changed recently.
KY is just across the Ohio river from me; many KYians work in Ohio, and vice versa. Am glad to know they will be better cared for health-wise. Many years of tobacco farming and using have taken a toll; tobacco farming is giving way to other types of work, and hopefully, the health of KYians will improve.
"Having" and "using" are two different things.
He is/was a Jesuit, after all.
If he wore one, was it with the old black shoes he wore as Pope?
Glad to know your trip went well.
Will look forward to hearing about it.
Have a good weekend!
I agree with your first two points, but
don't wish Colin Powell to have influence in the Dem Party.
He can never fully undo the damage he has wrought on earth.
The Cappa magna would likely make Papa Francis
puke.
The sooner the Church gets away from such ostentatiousness, the better.
Perhaps the men in blue belong to one of the lay orders. Notice the ribbon hanging around their necks - there's likely a large medal of some kind attached.
There's no place in a 21st century church for such fol-de-rol.
I despise the man for his lies at the UN
It will take a lot more than a few words to put him back in the good graces of those who know his responsibility for thousands of lives lost and unending enmity in the Middle East.
Would that be in Russian Daylight time?
If so, we're likely halfway through the day already, more so for Vladivostok time.
Oh my! I've never seen a train on a clergyman!
Do you think he had to practice swirling it around like a bride?
Or perhaps someone(s) carries it for him.
And who/what are the men in blue?
Don't know what they were doing, but I bet it lasted for hours.
Can you imagine going to confession to someone like that?
No, I much prefer Francis' common man approach.
