No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalI heard Jeb Bush say on TV the other day (it might have been a tape from an earlier time- not sure)
that the newspaper postings by the mom before adoption of the child was to get father's to pay child support.
If that was even part of the reasoning at the time, it was an extremely poor reason - to sacrifice the privacy of a mother in hopes of getting a few dollars of child support.
Likely many or most of those fathers were unable to pay any support money. Some may not have even been aware that they had fathered a child.
Jindal is governor of Louisiana. nt
It's known as "Walking the walk."
Won't hurt any of them, really.
Remember, Hillary was seen standing in line at Chipotle's.
She didn't send in someone.
Walking the walk.
It was the lobbying career.
Not the government service, per se.
Perhaps during the government service, some "work" on the side.
Joe Biden, a career government servant, has not enriched himself unduly.
And Joe's wife, Dr. Jill, has had a career which added to the family income.
Congratulations! The 60's are good years, enjoy them.
The 70's are another thing altogether.
I'm seldom bored. As long as I have
reading material, even if online, or a TV with remote, I'm usually occupied, mentally at least.
So much to learn, so little time.
Yes, it is a sad end to the young woman's life.
I believe the first listing is not for Julie Cushion, as she could not have been married 50 years. It likely is for another listing on the same page of death notices.
Sometimes we find out information we'd rather not have known.
God rest her soul.
Her obituary was listed in the Lansing Star-Journal
on Feb. 18, 2004, page B5.
I have been unable to pull it up online, except for registering and paying a fee.
Likely the Main Public Library in Lansing will have a copy of the Lansing Star-Journal for that day.
You could call or email them and request a copy of the obit be mailed or emailed to you.
If you are not near to Lansing, ask a member of the Michigan group on DU to do the legwork for you.
There is a genealogy group here on DU, whose members are quite familiar with obtaining obituaries; they may be able to help you out.
I have checked ancestry.com, of which I am a member, and do not see the obit. available there.
You are correct that drug therapy for mental issues is the first line
of defense.
You are also correct that one must give any prescribed drugs a fair chance to do their work.
That some do not correct the problem is known, and even the trained psycho-pharmacist may not figure out the answer for some individuals.
Hanging in and not giving up hope when one wants to throw in the towel is the most likely way to health.
