No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalTrump fatigue. Too much too frequently.
Thank the Lord for remotes to change tv stations, and/or the mute button.
Try a Jesuit Church, preferably at a University.
Is St. Peter's a Jesuit University?
Although there are some conservative Jesuits (the one on EWTN, for example), the majority of Jesuits are well-schooled in the theology of Jesus, and are more likely to reflect His principles.
Some Franciscans are also living those principles, and it is reflected in their homilies. (I attended a Franciscan church in Durham, NC at a time when I visited there frequently and was very impressed.)
I have had occasion to review voter rolls in a retirement home in SW Ohio and observed that two retired priests were registered as Democrats and a third with no political affiliation - only three priests living there. They live the life one would expect of a religious Democrat - good-natured, humble, open and available to all.
Good luck. I realize the importance of this matter to you. Life in the Church is very important to me as well.
This happens all too often in many states.
Howard Dean had the right approach - candidates in every House district.
Who is the Dem. leader who will bring us back to that position?
5th Sunday in Ordinary Time - Reading 1: Isaiah 58:7-10
Thus says the Lord:
Share your bread with the hungry,
shelter the oppressed and the homeless;
clothe the naked when you see them,
and do not turn your back on your own.
Then your light shall break forth like the dawn,
and your wound shall be quickly healed;
your vindication shall go before you,
and the glory of the Lord shall be your rear guard.
Then you shall call, and the Lord will answer,
you shall cry for help, and he will say: Here I am!
If you remove from your midst
oppression, false accusation and malicious speech;
if you bestow your bread on the hungry
and satisfy the afflicted;
then light shall rise for you in the darkness,
and gloom shall become for you like midday.
Quite a situation that Sessions' confirmation can not occur until
after the DeVos confirmation because Sessions' vote as a Senator is needed to get DeVos through.
I'm most hopeful of the DeVos confirmation failing, as only one more Republican defection is needed and there is huge pressure on all US Senators to defeat DeVos.
Sessions' defeat would be great, but I'm not holding my breath over it at this time.
New TV ad today - this one from AARP, asking for viewers to contact
Senators re Social Security.
This is a new phenomenon - TV ads for political purpose outside the election season.
Perhaps they have a lot cash left over from the election season.
The early Seinfeld reruns feature Jerry and cast using a huge cordless phone.
That always reminds me just how old those shows really are.
The humor is timeless, though.
Melania has been quoted as saying that Barron idolizes his father
and Barron tries to act like his father so often that Melania sometimes calls Barron "Little Donald."
Barron has an entire floor to himself in the Trump Tower.
The White House cannot provide that- an entire floor just for Barron.
Perhaps it's the child who's putting his foot down on this choice.
I consider Reuters one of the most objective news agencies
around today.
You always get a good story from them, and their reporters, when appearing on TV, give fair appraisals of what's going oon in the world.
