No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalHave you considered a security system (motion sensor or camera) and a sign
that violators of your privacy will be reported to authorities?
While a "Do Not Evangelize" list may be desirable, the effort to get one in place requires the support of others - local officials, etc.-
which might not be so easily or quickly obtained.
Good luck in your efforts.
OMG - You not only let them in, you give three hours of your time?
I don't even like unsolicited phone calls, let alone someone knocking on my door for any manner of "sales".
I believe my time is "my" time, and I'll waste in a manner that pleases me , not others.
It seems I've just been told I'm not good enough....
Well, I don't stomach that, but, as a senior adult, I've come to recognize and accept
that I can only affect a very little corner of the world, so I aim to make that little corner as pleasant as I can for those around me.
So, yes, I have to avert my eyes to much of the misery today, and in the past, lest myself and others lose hope.
And, I wish for you, jtuck004, hope for today for you and all you encounter.
Your news is not good for us DUers, but I'm glad for you that you're retiring
and hoping you'll find that period rewarding for a long time to come.
I know this picture is meant to be sarcastic, but, honestly,
it sickens me so much to see Jesus shown holding a rifle and attributing such terrible words to Him, I can't stomach it enough to even recommend.
Sorry.
I'm not a Mainer, but the following thought struck me before the election-
The nurse who returned from Africa and was home quarantined by LePage (after having endured being held in a tent by NJ's Christie)and spoke out against LePage's actions, probably elicited some support for the governor due to all the media hullabaloo and fear-mongering.
The nurse was a very smart woman and knew what she was talking about, but some would resent her defiance in speaking out.
When I observed all that going on, I thought to myself - not good for Dems (reasonable people) - good for Repubs (they market fear.)
That is true. But at least I would be able to communicate
with others if need be. The language barrier is just one more brick in the barrier, if one is not multilingual, as I am not.
Such a pity so many places in Mexico have become unsafe
for American (and other) travelers.
A beautiful country with beautiful, sweet people, but I would feel vulnerable if I were to go to certain areas now.
