Does that include tax cheats?

I know of one person who gave large sums to Mother Theresa of Calcutta but through financial machinations caused huge problems and losses for individuals and institutions. Guess who he supported politically - not Dems.

Go get'em, Papa Francis!

My 1000th post! Good morning, world!

In about 13 months, I've unburdened myself of thoughts and opinions 1000 times.
Thanks for the opportunities.
It's good for the soul!

Like so many things, it depends on tone and context...

The minority in this instance is obviously referring to a Caucasian.
What else is being said, and what emotions, if any, are involved.

It could be simply a descriptive term, referring to a countrified, unsophisticated person.
Or ir could be used in derision, hatred, you name it.

Hatred of any one is not a healthy choice.

It harms the hater. Physically.
It can harm the hated, but in the instance of a public figure, will have little or no effect.

When you're in the mood for it, It is good.

I like mine with more sauce, no onions - a four-way.
It's considered to have a Greek origin; some cinnamon is used in the sauce.
Some parlours will give you a large plastic bib to use while consuming the chili.

If there were a Pope Francis Fan club, I'd be

right there.
His sweet ways have beguiled me.
I like his wearing a red clown nose.
I also like the Dalai Lama, what I read of him is usually kind and common sense.
Not so crazy about Billy Graham, though.

Even if he's a long-shot, it's good to have a candidate with

a recognizable name.
Hopefully, Grandpa Jimmy and Grandma Roslynn can help in his campaign, by meeting with older folk who remember Jimmy's governorship and presidency, and by raising campaign funds.

Where does he live in Georgia? Not in or near Plains, I guess. Perhaps Atlanta?

You have a good point.

Today's Cincinnati Enquirer quotes eleven non-voters from Cincinnati, most of whom did not find anything on the ballot compelling enough to get to the polls.

Some, a few, simply did not have the time after working a long day or shift and then having a commitment at the end of the day - family, appointment, etc. Here's where making voting by mail easier would help. It is fairly easy at present, I believe, but takes a little planning ahead, and apparently, some or many cannot or so not do that re voting.
One woman expressed that "blacks", her words, did not see gains and so, apparently, she did not see the value in voting. I would have pointed out to that woman that City council members represent both black and white citizens and that black council members went from five to four as a result of this election, so more black voters might have influenced that number.

We all know that older white voters will come out, and in SW Ohio, the majority are Republican. So Dems need to work harder to get out the vote in non-presidential years.

What a beautiful example of compassion for all humanity.

I'm sure that man has suffered in body and soul, likely for many years.
I hope he gets lasting comfort from the touch of our dear pope Francis.
