No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalVery interesting.
I hope to catch other programs in the series C-Span is airing.
Saw the first one "Marbury vs. Madison", and learned a lot.
After reading and knowing about the escape from the maximum security
prison in Northern New York, I can believe that patient, motivated, smart prisoners can do more than one can imagine. Perhaps there are times of the year and certain conditions they look for - tides, currents, water temps, etc.
Note: My cousin has done the annual swim from San Francisco to Alcatraz a number of times, even well into his 60's. He trains for these long-distance swims.
It's good someone still practices this form of art. nt
My Dad was a Democrat, Mom not very politically interested.
Dad- Irish Catholic Democrat, though he proclaimed to be a Dixiecrat in 1948 or 52 - whenever that was going on. He had his own small business and believed a businessman had to be relatively quiet publicly re politics lest a customer be rubbed the wrong way.
Mother - I believe she supported FDR - who wouldn't during that time? But she was more interested in social life - friends- so didn't express herself much re politics.
Penny-wise and pound foolish.
This is the same type of thinking as those who have not funded maintenance of our infrastructure.
Short-term profits are king.
Forget about posterity.
I will vote for the nominee of the Democratic Party for President of the US.
I will also for Democrats for offices down ballot.
Should a Democrat running for public office be so vile or corrupt or stupid that I can not in good conscience vote for him/her, I will leave that office blank on my ballot.
Things we learned in kindergarten - Pick up after yourself. nt
Did anyone notice? Did any heads turn? nt
At least you know yourself, Trudy, and have learned, likely
at great price, how to deal with it.
Cheers back at you.
There are more than a few of those on DU. My ignore list -
only 6 or 8- are examples of those who know better than others how life should be lived, i.e., no tolerance for others and other ways of thinking, than their own.
