No Vested Interest
No Vested Interest's JournalI love huskies and love babies, but
I wouldn't leave that one alone with that baby too long - I think he's jealous.
I presume it was a family decision, not the RNC.
That's the way those things usually work.
Don't go there. nt
No. Don't remove it. That's where I found it!
We need to let light in and brighten the day of as many as we can.
There's always enough bad news coming daily, hourly - yesterday's shootings in NV, for ex.
We all need to have our hearts warmed.
Many thanks for bringing this incident to our attention today. nt
Senators are not affected by redistricting.
Two senators represent the whole of each state.
Only House Representatives affected by redistricting, and, yes, they are in a most terrible way.
Winning the House is/will be very difficult, but always worth giving our best shot, for we never know what circumstances may arise that would make even a district that seems unwinnable - winnable.
An incumbent may become ill, die -I'm not wishing it,but that has happened-, be involved in a scandal or illegality, have family or monetary problems.
So it's always worth putting forth a worthy candidate; if he/she doesn't win, it's always good practice and exposure for another campaign.
Your action in this situation sounds appropriate.
I believe the minister should have just smiled at the woman, or said something like, 'All right" or "I understand" and gone about his business of offering a prayer.
He should not make the family uncomfortable. They likely knew the neighbor's views on religion.
Being a clergyman, he likely is used to what he considers proper respect and to people acquiescing in his request.
A seasoned clergyman knows there are all kinds of people with all kinds of views and is flexible enough to handle.
This was likely done on the advice of SunTrust's legal department.
Liability risk, you know.
