Who are the MAGA Republicans?
I'm not asking for a statement of purpose or binding philosophy. But it probably helps to define it.
I am looking for names. I want a list. Doing a search doesn't help. Some of them are obvious, of course, but when Ms. Karine Jean-Pierre was asked she "demurred" according to one article I read.
Do we need to define a MAGA in order to identify a MAGA? If so, how loose or firm do the criteria have to be for someone to qualify as MAGA? What's the threshold?
Are they all Republicans? Maybe some are Libertarians disguised as Republicans. Are some "closet" MAGA or "convenient" MAGA, when it suits them? Or "once a MAGA" but now claim to be reformed?
Most of all, who do you think we can decorate with the MAGA albatross?
I have some ideas but I'd like to know what my colleagues here at the Democratic Underground think.
Of course, any and all ideas are welcome.

Rep. Maxwell Frost (D-FL) unloaded on the impeachment inquiry ...snip...so much so, that one witness appeared aghast at the lawmaker’s scathing remarks.

Republicans on the committee called three witness to testify: Fox News contributor and George Washington University Law Professor Jonathan Turley; Former Deputy Assistant Attorney General Eileen O’Connor; and Bruce Dubinsky, a forensic account. Notably, none of these witnesses were fact witnesses, but rather experts in their respective fields. Nevertheless, the GOP’s witnesses – especially Turley – seemed skeptical about the evidence presented so far.
“This fake impeachment is based on desperate political calculation, not any evidence,” Frost declared. “And Mr. Chairman, you say this hearing is to establish the basis for this fake sham impeachment hearing, but these witnesses are not giving us any basis or giving us any evidence.”

“These witnesses are not giving any answers,” Frost continued. “They’re just asking more questions. We have one witness who has a lot of questions – Ms. O’Connor –, Dubinsky – one witness who knows something about accounting but has no real involvement in what’s going on –, and Mr. Turley’s stopping here on his way to his next Fox News hit.”
As he spoke O’Connor could be seen on camera with her jaw agape, as if to be in disbelief at Frost’s dismissive remarks.

Got it.
I wonder if there are any specific, justifiable maybe even medical reasons he could have for his wardrobe choices.
I mean like difficulty in finding clothes he likes in his size or something physical like an inability to tolerate certain fabrics. I know there are some physical conditions that cause discomfort when wearing certain fabrics or restrict certain areas of the body.
ADHD, PTSD, being on the spectrum, sensory overload and fabric allergies are all examples of conditions that can influence and even require unconventional wardrobe choices.
It makes me sad for humanity that so much emphasis is put on appearances when we are defining each other. There are so many ways that only seeing the superficial can be deceptive.
Some people aren't fortunate enough to afford to dress well and others have never been taught how to do it.
Some believe that they can put on a tie and a suit and act like an ass because they wear better clothes.
If we only find value in a person based primarily on what they are wearing we may be missing what's really important.
For example, are they kind, what's in their hearts? Are they more inclined to be compassionate and egalitarian? Are they just shallow and dressing only to create an air of privilege? Are they putting on airs while simultaneously hoping to make others appear inferior? Are they "dressing down" to make others feel at ease?
If we can't look past appearances we may be deceived and we also may miss out on making a friend or even meeting the person of our dreams.

Did the Algonquin round table somehow spiritually relocate itself in the early 1970s to Key West, Florida? The idea that the small, remote island city was a hotbed for one of the last great counterculture arts scenes — particularly for prose writers, but also with some music mixed in — is the focus of a new short film about the Key West scene of 50 years ago, “All That Is Sacred.” The 34-minute movie, which stars the famous novelist Tom McGuane and writer-musician Jimmy Buffett, has its premiere at the Telluride Film Festival this weekend.
Variety has an exclusive premiere for a trailer for the film, which does not yet have distribution; check it out below. We also talked with McGuane and director Scott Ballew about how the subject of the film came into focus, harking back to a loose collective of wild but serious writers in Key West that also included men of letters like Jim Harrison, Richard Brautigan and Russell Chatham.
Doing it as a half-hour-plus short rather than a feature “seemed like the right length based on the path we took in making it about the friendship. I mean, each one of these guys could, should and probably will have at least a 90-minute film on their own individual journeys.”
“I hadn’t understood how powerful it was going be,” says McGuane. “We’ve shown it to a lot of people — we’ve just shown it to Tom and Meredith Brokaw — and I mean, everybody that sees it seems to burst into tears. It’s just a strong little movie and I think Scott did a great job of it.”
