Duluth, MN (NNCNOW.com) - A nationwide ammunition shortage has police departments across the country counting their bullets. It's no different in Proctor, where the Chief says he was told he'd have to wait months, even a year to get more ammo.

"I was really surprised, let's just put it that way," said Chief Walt Wobig of the difficulty getting ammunition.

Woberg says that when he asked suppliers for the 1,000 rounds of ammo his officers needed for training, he was told he'd have to wait months.

"I go, 'Do you have 40–caliber qualification rounds?' And they go, 'Well, no. It's going to take six to eight months [to get them],'" said Wobig of a conversation with a manufacturer.

Movie theater publicity stunt triggers officers to respond to active shooter situation

JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -
Management at the Goodrich Capital 8 Theaters is defending what it calls a publicity stunt at the movie theaters this past weekend.

During the opening weekend of the latest 'Iron Man' movie, a man walked into the theater in full tactical gear and carrying a fake gun.

Jefferson City police and witnesses, however, are not pleased with the stunt and are questioning the theater's logic after recent shootings in Aurora, Colo. and Newtown, Conn.

John Molock is a retired Army war veteran and suffers from post-traumatic stress disorder. He told ABC 17 News this most recent trip to the movies triggered memories he never wanted to relive.

Minnesota House passes gay marriage; bill heads to Senate Monday

Gay marriage in Minnesota passed a critical test Thursday, May 9, with the House passing legislation on a 75-59 vote.

The vote sends the debate to the Minnesota Senate, which is expected to vote on same-sex marriage on Monday. Gov. Mark Dayton has said he will the bill should it reach his desk.

The House had been seen as the bill's toughest challenge, with Senate leaders declaring they have the support to pass the bill weeks ago.

Supporters and opponents of the bill to legalize gay marriage started gathering at the Minnesota Capitol hours before the House took up the bill at noon. Some of the House DFLers -- who have the controlling majority -- stopped to give hugs and high-fives as they walked into the chamber along a hallway lined with supporters and opponents chanting and raising signs.

Repubs way over-reached on the "Marriage {in}Equality Act" last ballot. They lost the Legislature and now are facing their worst nightmare.
I may have to get my suit out; I think there will be a couple of weddings soon.
