Ron Obvious's JournalStand by Me - Filming Locations
Stand by Me is one of my favourite films of all time. OK, the kids swear more and smoke more than I remember doing in my childhood, but other than that it was a perfect nostalgia film. It's true, you never do make friends later in life like you had at twelve.
This video shows some of the filming locations, and the maker rather cleverly inserts himself into the action in places.
The Pythons before they became Monty Python
I'm currently reading John Cleese's autobiography So Anyway (recommended), and was inspired to look for some clips referred to in the book. There are definitely hints here on what was to come later.
Do Not Adjust Your Set, starring Eric Idle, Terry Jones, Michael Palin, Denise Coffey, and as a special treat for fans of inspector Frost (Touch of Frost), David Jason.
At Last the 1948 Show, with John Cleese, Graham Chapman, Tim Brooke-taylor, Marty Feldman, Aimi MacDonald and David Frost

John Cleese playing straight man to Mr. Pest (Marty Feldman)
Lastly, here's Eric Idle interviewing John Cleese on said autobiography.
On Edit: misspelled Chapman as Clapman....
One Man’s Quest to Rid Wikipedia of Exactly One Grammatical Mistake
File this under Heroes for Today. This man has made 47,000 edits to Wikipedia doing nothing but correcting the incorrect usage of "comprised of" which apparently really gets up his nose.
Henderson has now made over 47,000 edits to the site since 2007, virtually all of them addressing this one linguistic pet peeve. Article by article, week by week, Henderson redacts imperfect sentences, tightening them almost imperceptibly. Im proud of it, says Henderson of the project. Its just fun for me. Im not doing it to have any impact on the world.
