Typical for tRump, he has to rent a crowd. The memo the tradespeople got demanded there be no resistance to him. Free speech is only for nazis, gorka, spencer, anglin.
I notice from the memo that there was no end time listed for the event, but obviously they told the employees it was regular end of shift. Then shitler stuck around for hours afterward, getting his butt kissed by ownership and management, I guess.
He had zero to do with the cracker plant, though some state repugs had been involved in shoveling out the tax investments. When this thing was being proposed, planned, he was busy tweeting about birth certificates, cheating on wifey, stealing tRump u students' money, bankrupting casinos, you know, business leadership stuff.
He stuck around to stick it in labor's ass.
The whole thing was purposeful. Shows that he'll come into Labor territory,
and jerk all those tough construction workers' chains, threatening their paycheck. Make them stand in full sleeve high vis osha mandated stuff, for hours crowded together. Obviously they'd be arrested by ss or cops supporting ss if they said, 'screw this, I'm leaving'.
Our taxdollars, and theirs, are paying for that Shell plant 'investment'.

Went to a Tisha B'Av gathering outside of ICE today.
At a non-descript newer brick bldg on South Side, by the Hot Metal bridge.
I'd like to thank the Interfaith Jewish groups who held the service and protest rally today.
The rabbis and the rank and file synagogue members took time to help others, including a lot of catholics. I was honored to participate, and thank them for speaking while my catholic hierarchy remains mum. (Not Pope F., but the ratzinger/jpII appointee, Bishop Zubic.)
It was a nice ceremony and activist event, one of 50 in the country.
I turned out for JVP's event backing moslems in the Squirrel Hill neighborhood, right at the start of Rump's admin. When that shooter shot up the Tree of Life, some Islamic groups offered money, to stand guard during the Synagogue's services, whatever was needed. Now good Jewish people are helping catholics. (There are some protestant converts among the immigrants and refugees, but the population is largely R.C.)
Seems like the way forward. Work with all good people, for all good people, across traditional activist advocacy lines.
