You have a ton of good discussion topics in the o.p.
I'm catholic, and have been impressed for decades by the disproportionately large contribution to making things better in this country that come from people who are religiously observant or secular/culturally Jewish. In progressive social movements, politics, philosophy, academics, justice, journalism, people from that small 2.3% of the population fight to make things better for the whole country.
Re antisemitism, watching out for it as a key warning sign can be useful. If a social or political movement springs up and starts making a splash, says things that seem progressive or appears to do in-depth investigative reporting, but seems a bit murky and tough to pin down -- the key defining moment that lets me peg them, the moment that sets all the alarm bells off and cements that outfit as bad guys in my mind, is the moment that they say something anti-semitic. As soon as they say 'because the Jews' or 'it's the Jews', it's a key tip off. It instantly shows who they are.
Years ago, there were quite a few pro-Alex Jones posts on this site, he was disguising himself as a force 'against fascism'. But watching him blame activities coming out of the nazi bush family on the Rothschilds, blame 9/11 on Israel, blame attacks on synagogues in Mumbai on the Mossad, it was clear that he was a pro-nazi repug bircher. It took a while to become an accepted fact here that Jones was working for the bad guys, but the sub rosa antisemitism was a clear tip off, though some post-ers who I thought weren't right wing trolls were dazzled by the 'anti' bush stuff coming from Jones' trash outfits.
Groups like his always take high profile incidents that come from covert workings of our country's far right wasp financial power structure -- or come from the far righties in our intel that serve that power structure, or from underground nazi movements that are supported by the monied wasp power brokers or their rightie intel servants -- they always take those incidents for a spin and try to pin them on 'the Jews'. They always have a cartoon version of history and reality that they're willing to offer the public, pure propagandic psyops, but the second they say 'it's the Jews' they show they're working for the nazis who are the real villains. They excuse the actual bad guys who they work for, muddy the waters about the guilt of the wasp nazis, and go after a target that those nazis want to go after. Their true aim is to scapegoat the Jewish people, all of whom they're just itching to attack, anyway.

Regarding the '30 pieces of silver' slur, the key thing that tipped me off that Flynn was a nazi repug bircher (que some naysayer to tell me he's a 'registered Dem'. Don't bother.) was when he 'accidentally' retweeted an anti-semitic statement from some nazi zero called 'St Bibiana @30piecesofAG'.

The inclusion of Mike Cohen in the story is interesting, because Pence threw Cohen under the bus, when defending Flynn to Chris Wallace.
Birchers vs. Jewish wiseguys.

The problem is repug alliances with Putin.
The whole WI delegation are birchers, Pence is a bircher, Flynn is a bircher. Pence tried to run interference for Flynn, to keep Flynn in power, Flynn is Pence's ally. Then intel said 'oh, we have all calls to russians on tape', now bircher ryan says 'poor pence'. He also wants to out the dRumpf team for firing his fellow bircher Flynn, while trying to get credit for 'praising' dRumpf for doing it.
The same thing happened during the Pence interview by Chris Wallace. Pence downplayed the whole Flynn-Russia contact thing as rumor, and brought up another rumor -- dRUmpf's lawyer Mike Cohen's meeting in Prague with Russian officials. Pence went on to say the rumor was ridiculous, so he wanted credit for 'shooting the rumor down', when he in fact brought it up.
Also, Cohen is a Jewish wiseguy on dRumpf's team, and the bircher Pence was smearing him. That's the key infighting that is occurring in dRumpf's inner circle. You can't keep a coalition together composed of genocidal anti-semite birchers and Jewish organized crime and psy op propaganda neocon people.

has to do with the fact that dRUmpfenfuhrer has zero intel or national security knowledge or connections. He knows nothing, and is trying to hold a coalition together of virulent anti-semitic birchers and Jewish organized criminals who are sops to Netanyahu's Likud Mossad righties.
The national security / intel connections that he could bring to the table for a 'winning' 'combination' are 2 diametrically opposed groups. He had to take a super anti-semitic bircher nutjob like Flynn onto his team for intel credibility. He had to take a Southern 'concerned citizen' in as head of Justice. Watching Randi Rhode's coverage of Fox's Chris Wallace interview of bircher Pence, it was interesting to see Pence's answer to the second question 'Were there any contacts during the campaign between dRumpf's associates and russian operatives about hacking?' Because what bircher Pence did was bring up false allegations that 'Michael Cohen was accused of having a meeting in Prague (with Russian operatives), and a news organization finally did some checking and it was false.'
Sure, bircher Pence was blowing smoke, trying to distract. But what he did was throw the long term dRumpf business associate Jewish mob lawyer under the bus, while wanting to take credit for 'not throwing him under the bus but really just exonerating him.'
Bannon is an extreme nazi anti semite, who works for an org that got it's start from Jewish propaganda people like Breitbart and Berman. He's a navy intel guy who worked for Goldman Sachs. Bannon is either Opus Dei or a bircher, his specialty is propaganda not intel, but he's sitting in on NSC intel meetings.
He pushed for a strongly antagonistic stance against China (US and Russia aligned to split control), that's getting suddenly reversed now, with a reversion to the "One China" policy.
The dRumpf foreign policy whizzes pushed for Jerusalem to be recognized as Israel's capitol, a sop to the Likud right, but reversed themselves to bad mouth settlements.
Bircher Flynn was on top of the world, in dRumpf intel terms, suddenly running into big problems about his pro dRumpf and Russia treason. Conway's side bested klansman Sessions buddy Chuck Cooper in the Solicitor General fight, suddenly she's fending off an ethics investigation from Chaffetz and a blowback from blatant lying on terror attacks. Those terror attacks help her explain the Moslem ban, which the admin 'abandoned at 5 pm today, then took up again at 6 pm.
All the flip flop reversals are a struggle between the 2 disparate factions dRumpf is trying to bring together to get a foreign policy national security apparatus in place, that works and is acceptable to the interests he has to satisfy.
