nytimes.com Reports: Carbon Dioxide Level Passes Long-Feared Milestone
In this 2 page online article, "The New York Times" looks at a dangerous milestone. The question now comes down to how long are the people in whole keep allowing those that say it (global warming) is not real, to keep up the dangerous ignoring of the problem.
The level of the most important heat-trapping gas in the atmosphere, carbon dioxide, has passed a long-feared milestone, scientists reported on Friday, reaching a concentration not seen on the earth for millions of years.
Scientific monitors reported that the gas had reached an average daily level that surpassed 400 parts per million — just an odometer moment in one sense, but also a sobering reminder that decades of efforts to bring human-produced emissions under control are faltering.

Governments have been trying since 1992 to rein in emissions, but far from slowing, emissions are rising at an accelerating pace, thanks partly to rapid economic growth in developing countries. Scientists fear the level of the gas could triple or even quadruple before being brought under control.
Indirect measurements suggest that the last time the carbon dioxide level was this high was at least three million years ago, during an epoch called the Pliocene. Geological research shows that the climate then was far warmer than today, the world’s ice caps were smaller, and the sea level might have been as much as 60 or 80 feet higher.

My SO has no Idea!
I have B.A. in Communications from MSSU. But I lost my copies of my transcripts due to the tornado and my flash drive with the electric copy getting stolen at a shelter. I have become delinquent in the payments of the loans due to no job since May 22, 2011. To get the transcripts I have to contact a clearinghouse and set up a payment plan. According to them I must get a paycheck so they can use the numbers on it to start to take payments off of it or my bank account number ( I don't have a bank account).
My SO keeps showing me jobs in my field and is yelling at me to apply. "Stop wasting your education" he says. Those jobs want copies of my transcripts. I can't give them what I no longer have. It like he is putting salt in a very open wound. He won't listen or understand. For now all I can do is pray for one of the fast food or clerk jobs to call. I am hurting so bad and he just won't stop and see what is going on.
So many are in a very similar boat right now in this country. It is a catch 22 for so many, need proof of education to get the job they are trained for, but can't get it due to not working and going delinquent. Thus, can not get the paperwork to change things.
And I am sure they to get to hear it from loved ones. But it still makes you feel alone in this world.
The GOP is going to hurt so many over not wanting to close tax loopholes. (another LFR rant)

Yep, the Grand Old Pansy party is about to bring in something that will hurt so many. The media keeps say how they won't be felt for some time, but they are not reporting ALL that will be hurt.
Did you know that many people in emergency shelter right now are looking at not having it? And that there are food pantries across the nation that are looking at closing down? There is even going to be a cut out of the W.I.C program.
I overheard at the pantry that they are going to be sweating it out. They have been team up with the T.V stations here in Tucson to do a drive that is at it's end to take some sting out. But, due to people being worried about their jobs, they did not do as they really hoped.
All I have mention is just the tip of the iceberg that is out to sink many people.
This is going to affect many that are just coming out of economic nightmares and will put them right back in. What happens to a person that has done what they are supposed to and keep falling down? Remember that many have done what they are supposed to do as in have a job, save all they can and fight to pay all their bills. Yet they can't pay for the necessities of life, no matter how hard they work.
I fear for those that are at their wits end. What will happen with them? What will they do since they feel as if they have no hope? It is the direction those thoughts will take is what scares me. There will be a lot more Desperate people out there and when you have nothing but time to sit on a bench and think...you would be surprised at what will go through your mind.
How long will it take for the idea to become something that a person is sure will work may take some time. But it will get there. Now do the math on the amount of people that are going to be in that thinking point. You do not know who is going to pop or what form that pop will take. But we will see it happen all because the GOP does not want to close Loopholes in the tax code.
