Tom DeLay: Justice Department Wants To Legalize Sex With Animals and ‘Little Boys’

Just when you thought these people couldn’t get any more offensive – or ridiculous, Tom DeLay has announced that there is a “secret memo” from the Justice Department that aims to legalize “12 new perversions” including sex with animals and “having sex with little boys,” reports Right Wing Watch.

For good measure, DeLay added that gays are out for some Christian blood.

Speaking with Newsmax host Steve Malzberg yesterday, the former GOP House leader and Dancing With the Stars contestant said:



Malzberg bizarrely concluded the interview by saying “nothing would surprise me.”

Ex-Gulf Cartel leader captured in Edinburg gets 30 years in prison, $100M fine

BEAUMONT, Texas — A former leader of Mexico's notorious Gulf drug cartel captured last year in Edinburg was sentenced Tuesday to 30 years in a U.S. prison and fined $100 million.

Juan Francisco Saenz-Tamez was sentenced Tuesday by a judge in Beaumont, Texas, on drug and money laundering convictions.

Saenz , whose cartel nickname is a vulgar Spanish term for the female anatomy, is a 23-year-old native of Camargo, across the U.S.-Mexico border from Rio Grande City. He was arrested in October during a shopping trip to Texas.

Saenz pleaded guilty in January to distribution and possession with intent to distribute cocaine; conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute marijuana; and conspiracy to commit money laundering.

Prosecutors say Saenz was responsible for shipping at least half a ton of cocaine and 90 tons of marijuana into the U.S. Investigators believe the drug cartel laundered $100 million.

Legionnaires disease scare at Galveston prison hospital

GALVESTON, Texas - KPRC 2 was sent a memo that was issued to UTMB employees that reveals a high level of bacteria in the water at the TDCJ {Texas Department of Criminal Justice} hospital, which is the prisoners' hospital and not the public facility.

Routine testing of the water supply reveals elevated levels of Legionella bacteria.

"The Legionella bacterium occurs naturally in water but typically not at levels that can cause illness. The bacteria must be aspirated into the lungs to cause illness. Infections that may occur can be effectively treated with antibiotics, UTMB said.

They want people to know that no one has ever been infected while at UTMB or TDCJ, and to prevent such a possibility, they are installing medical grade bacterial filters on numerous locations including ice machines and showers.

Texas A&M University System to extend benefits to spouses of same-sex employees

The Texas A&M University System's decision to extend benefits spouses of same-sex couples gave local advocates a chance to not only celebrate, but let go of almost a decade of frustration built up during a fight for those benefits.

Some in the local LGBT community thought A&M, given its conservative history, would delay offering enrollment to spouses of employees and retirees after the Supreme Court legalized same-sex marriage nationwide Friday. So it was a pleasant surprise to Stephen Balfour, director of information technology for A&M and treasurer for the A&M GLBT Professional Network, when he heard of the Monday memo stating employees of all walks of life would have the opportunity to enroll spouses in benefits programs starting Wednesday.

"Personally, over the course of the last two days, my outlook was improved, and I was already happy," Balfour said. "I feel like there has been a weight lifted off their shoulders for a more-inclusive environment. I had a little bit more joy in coming into work today."

Judy LeUnes, president of the Pride Community Center for Bryan-College Station's board of directors, said doubts of same-sex employee benefits being offered at A&M and other area employers was the only damper on an otherwise festive day following the Supreme Court's morning announcement.

Female ocelot hit by vehicle, dies

RAYMONDVILLE — In recent years, the ocelot has struggled to maintain its population.

It’s number one killer, the car.

The dwindling spotted species took another hit, on June 8, when a female ocelot died after it was struck by a vehicle on State Highway 186 between Raymondville and Port Mansfield.

A U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service veterinarian who performed the necropsy confirmed the ocelot was a mature female that had bred in the past, but did not appear to be raising a litter at the time of her death.

Of the remaining estimated 80 ocelots in Texas, this female was one of approximately 30 identified ocelots in the Willacy County population, all found on private lands, officials said.

Trump files $500 million lawsuit as pageant woes mount

NEW YORK (AP) — As fallout built over Donald Trump's remarks about immigrants from Mexico, the Republican presidential candidate answered back with legal action to match his trademark brashness, filing a $500 million lawsuit.

The suit against Univision for dropping the Miss USA and Miss Universe pageants claims breach of contract, defamation and First Amendment violations, and contends Univision turned on him because it supports Democrat Hillary Rodham Clinton for president.

In a statement, Univision called Trump's lawsuit "factually false and legally ridiculous." It said it will "continue to fight against Mr. Trump's ongoing efforts to run away from the derogatory comments he made."

Univision, which moved last week to opt out of Trump's pageants because of the celebrity businessman's remarks earlier this month, is now far from alone.

Hood County Clerk reverses decision on marriage licenses

Hood County Clerk Katie Lang has reversed her previous decision to not allow anyone in her office issue marriage licenses to same-sex couples, although she is claiming that we all just simply misconstrued what she said earlier about not allowing anyone in her office to issue those licenses.

I am pretty sure I did not “misconstrue” what the woman in Lang’s office told me earlier today when she said NO ONE in that office would issue a marriage license to a same-sex couple. I called and asked specifically.

This is the statement now posted on Lang’s Hood County Clerk website:

“The religious doctrines to which I adhere compel me to personally refrain from issuing same-sex marriage licenses. Nonetheless, in addition to the county clerk offices in the several surrounding counties, as soon as the appropriate forms have been printed and supplied to my office, the County Clerk’s Office of Hood County will have staff available and ready to issue same-sex marriage licenses.

“Because some have misreported and misconstrued my prior statements, I want to make clear that the County Clerk’s Office of Hood County will comply with the recent decision of the Supreme Court of the United States.

“I am grateful that the First Amendment continues to protect the sincerely held religious beliefs of public servants like me. That has not changed since last Friday. As Justice Kennedy stated, ‘it must be emphasized that religions, and those who adhere to religious doctrines, may continue to advocate with utmost, sincere conviction that, by divine precepts, same-sex marriage should not be condoned.’”

Baton Rouge mom booked after 3-year-old tests positive for cocaine; police find the pair in apartment covered in dog feces and dirty diapers

A Baton Rouge woman was arrested Monday after a hospital determined her 3-year-old child tested positive for high levels of cocaine.

And when Baton Rouge police arrived at Megan Gaylord’s apartment, they found it “covered in dog feces, spoiled food, trash, dirty diapers” and other materials, a police report says.

Police were called to the residence, Apt. 42C at 155 Marilyn Drive to investigate a disturbance call. The apartment was in such bad condition the officers could not complete their investigation of the home, the report says, and they contacted Child Services to document the conditions inside the apartment.

According to the report, while talking with Gaylord, 25, and the child, police smelled “a strong odor of burnt marijuana.” EMS then transported the mother and child to Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center, where the child tested positive for cocaine and the mother positive for multiple controlled substances, including marijuana and cocaine.
