Just saw interview with Rachel and Chuck Schumer...There were protesters at his house. Why?Why?

Why not protest at GOP homes...pick the most vulnerable house and Senate GOP members and let them have it. The Dems are on the side of Dreamers but don't have the power to save them...and yet they take shots at those that agree with them and ignore those who issued an executive order rescinding DACA (president) and those who have done nothing who have a majority in Congress (the Republican house and senate members. We don't have the levers of powers. So scream that you won't vote Democratic and maybe even follow through and what will happen...more Gop who will make worse laws and then folks will scream for the Democrats to save them...demand it ...but we can't because you all took the keys away...and we are not steering the 'government' vehicle. It might help to target the GOP elected. It won't help to target Democrats who will do everything they can because they believe in DACA and want to save the dreamers. If the Democrats had control of the government, the dreamers would not be at risk. Think about that.

We got the best deal possible.CHIP for 6 years/ DACA Vote in a couple of weeks.

We have another chance and got CHIP...I think it is the best we could do. Also, no more American kids vs DACA...which would hurt DACA.

At least three Repubs didn't vote for the CR

Thus, it was not the Democrat shutting the government down. And Trump is on his way to Florida to play golf and fund raise...probably the worst optics in the history of optics. I am glad we hung tough. We had no choice. I only hope the shutdown doesn't last long as this affects the lives of millions of people.

I switched from Sling to Playstation Vue.

I like vue quite a bit from the start...more channels, sports, local news and my disabled sister-in-law could watch Good Morning America on the day it first aired (Hulu next day). But now they have added a grid...it took some work to figure out how it worked and there probably is stuff I don't know still, but I love it. You can go back days and watch shows you missed or just decided to look back for the hell of it. You can go forward and for seems like weeks and add movies. I added all the Christmas movies. You add shows with a + sign and then they are recorded...no limit either like sling for the DVR...and I have had less technical issues than Sling...although Sling had improved. And the added all three Hall Mark Channels. I love the mystery channel. It also turned out cheaper than Sling for what I wanted and way cheaper than cable.

GOP tax plan could bring big New Year's surprises/First of all it will be implemented on Jan. 1st.

"American taxpayers may get a jolt on New Year’s Day when new tax rules — including some sudden tax increases — take effect just days after Republicans hope to pass their overhaul and have it signed into law.

In an effort to juice the economy with tax cuts ahead of the midterm elections, the GOP is planning a Jan. 1 start date for its sweeping rewrite of the code.

But along with Republicans' much-advertised cuts in business and individual taxes, there would be tax increases as well, some of which have been barely debated.

Some people who sell their homes may find they owe thousands more in taxes; investors could pay more when they sell stocks; and undocumented immigrants could find themselves cut off from a popular child tax credit Republicans plan to expand.

Fringe benefits for workers such as subway passes and help with moving expenses will
likely no longer be deductible, which might prompt companies to drop them.
