Aerows
Aerows's JournalRevised platform for defense (and that is what it is, defending this) of the Orlando murder.
* do not encourage others to give up their guns
* Pretend that Islam had nothing to do with it
* Ask the American public to do nothing because it might interfere with gun sales.
* Don't emphasize the gay part too much because it is extremely confusing that he was homophobic, and we don't want people to talk about those icky gay people on TV.
I haven't been to a bar in a decade
But when I did, it was the Bourbon Street Pub (the gay mister, not the hey mister).
This song came on, and it was incredible. Everybody stopped in this crowded as hell bar, and sang along to this one. It was a powerful moment.
I'm absolutely heartbroken over the Orlando shootings
but I would like to say that those of you who have reached out are fantastic people.
You have no idea how much it means to many of us.
I'm not suddenly a spokesperson for the gay community, so if I offended, just know it was coming from my heart.
I'm horrifically sad
But I just don't know how to express how incredibly sad I am.
And I screwed it up because somebody thought I was mourning a TV show instead of the bright, wonderful human beings that had their lives cut short.
It's painful as hell
that people were murdered and maimed.
It's horrific, tragic, and we could do something about it if we weren't goddamn cowards that slink in fear of the NRA.
50 people died today
and you already have people wanting to vacate this site.
I wonder why. It couldn't possibly be because this site already has a history of gay purges, posts that malign us are allowed to stand, and the fucks given despite 50 people losing their lives isn't enough evidence that homophobia is real.
Excuse me for getting pissed off about that.
Absolution
I'm a weak, horrible human being that can mourn people dying in the streets from hunger and lack of medical care.
Can I please have one second to mourn Root? Inspirational character.
All day today, I've read posts from High Horse posters
Usually relatively low in post count, but high in "support the party, or else".
I'm not "young". I'm 43.
Calling me an idealist searching for a Utopia isn't exactly going to work for me, either, because I've heard it already from every Republican under the sun since I was in elementary school.
Now Democrats are saying that it is "searching for Utopia" to speak up about things like wealth inequality, getting money out of politics and decreasing our military budget?
If you espouse this, if you believe in pushing it, I didn't leave the party - it left me.
