They have no loyalty to anyone but their class, or whatever it's called now.

These guys want WW3 and any other war that will allow them to steal resources. People are just statistics on the bottom line of their business ventures. Why would anyone think they'd care about causing people to get killed, since they love the money they make off war more than human life? Or the money they make off anything, no matter what they kill in the process, the ocean, the ecosystems? They are destroyers.

Tom Delay's permanent Republican majority, by hook or crook. In this case, by both. It sucks.

AFAIK, nothing can be done until the next census in 2020. This is why Nordquist says they had the next twenty years mapped out. Will Democratic voters stay the course or stay home in 2014?

While Grover was unable to install his designated Robosigner-in-Chief, the GOP have already shown this week, despite the majority opposing them, they have no intention of giving up on their hateful policy to suppress voters and women.

They will continue fight their war of obstruction and attrition, with their media inflaming their base and demoralizing Democratic voters by disinformation about what the Democrats and Obama are working to do to get this country back on track.

Why do they do this, one might ask? Try this blast from the past for a laugh, but this is serious:

Why does the Republican Party zealously pursue policies so obviously counter to the best interests of ordinary Americans?

Since the New Deal, Republicans have been on the wrong side of every issue of concern to ordinary Americans; Social Security, the war in Vietnam, equal rights, civil liberties, church- state separation, consumer issues, public education, reproductive freedom, national health care, labor issues, gun policy, campaign-finance reform, the environment and tax fairness. No political party could remain so consistently wrong by accident.

Exposing the ugly truth about the Republican Party's diabolical plot to replace constitutional democracy with an oligarchic fascist theocracy...

You're doing good. And as far as arts and civics.. Yes, bi loss. All of what was called a 'liberal'

education, meaning well-rounded, expanding all the thought and reasoning processes instead of training people just for corporate work have been culled from eduation.

I even find a number of people here who have no idea about government. They get enraged over the media driven emotional conceptions of what one Congressman, Senator, Governor or even the POTUS can do. It's this grandoise idea that they don't have to deal with all of the unglamorous things that people have to do, as if it's all done with triumphant music. winning in a minute.

Media promotes a bully or godfather view of the powerful, that they can just say what's going to be done, and it will be done or heads will roll. That's not democracy they're longing for, with our due process and respect for all parties involved; it's the desire to have a strong man, a dictator, sweep all the things they despise out of their path.

I have grown wreary of googling for people who see a media story and immediately get into a rage that the Democratic Party or Obama, or whoever, is not governing by fiat and able to do everything. Facts don't mater, how it's done doesn't interest them at all.

Change is accomplished with coalitions, it's all a group process. And it's not about being spineless, cowardly or sold off. That's this Sopranos reality that media has put out, all are in it for themselves, none has an altruistic bone in their body.

And the abuse I've seen heaped on our elected figures, by people who refuse to learn the basics or get involved in the hard work of dealing with people face to face, day in and day out, year in and year out, and then start calling names. os discouraging. And it's not very honest, IMO.

Keep on posting and putting it there, and I agree, education is taking the biggest hits of all, and it's not at all progressive. Too many people bought into conspiracy, believe funding the government is oppression, so they don't want to pay their taxes and refuse to be involved in changing it. Those taxes support education, healthcare, the poor and others that make a society worth living in.

I'll see you around later, have a good evening.

They NEVER stopped defending the Confederacy, hating Lincoln, Yankees, Carpetbaggers, Sherman...

You have to go back to the tenets of the South when they left the Union. Here is Confederate philosophy, read the dreck (emboldening font mine) and weep:

But not to be tedious in enumerating the numerous changes for the better, allow me to allude to one other though last, not least. The new constitution has put at rest, forever, all the agitating questions relating to our peculiar institution African slavery as it exists amongst us the proper status of the negro in our form of civilization. This was the immediate cause of the late rupture and present revolution. Jefferson in his forecast, had anticipated this, as the "rock upon which the old Union would split." He was right. What was conjecture with him, is now a realized fact. But whether he fully comprehended the great truth upon which that rock stood and stands, may be doubted. The prevailing ideas entertained by him and most of the leading statesmen at the time of the formation of the old constitution, were that the enslavement of the African was in violation of the laws of nature; that it was wrong in principle, socially, morally, and politically. It was an evil they knew not well how to deal with, but the general opinion of the men of that day was that, somehow or other in the order of Providence, the institution would be evanescent and pass away. This idea, though not incorporated in the constitution, was the prevailing idea at that time. The constitution, it is true, secured every essential guarantee to the institution while it should last, and hence no argument can be justly urged against the constitutional guarantees thus secured, because of the common sentiment of the day. Those ideas, however, were fundamentally wrong. They rested upon the assumption of the equality of races. This was an error. It was a sandy foundation, and the government built upon it fell when the "storm came and the wind blew."

Our new government is founded upon exactly the opposite idea; its foundations are laid, its corner- stone rests, upon the great truth that the negro is not equal to the white man; that slavery subordination to the superior race is his natural and normal condition. This, our new government, is the first, in the history of the world, based upon this great physical, philosophical, and moral truth. This truth has been slow in the process of its development, like all other truths in the various departments of science. It has been so even amongst us. Many who hear me, perhaps, can recollect well, that this truth was not generally admitted, even within their day. The errors of the past generation still clung to many as late as twenty years ago. Those at the North, who still cling to these errors, with a zeal above knowledge, we justly denominate fanatics. All fanaticism springs from an aberration of the mind from a defect in reasoning. It is a species of insanity. One of the most striking characteristics of insanity, in many instances, is forming correct conclusions from fancied or erroneous premises; so with the anti-slavery fanatics. Their conclusions are right if their premises were. They assume that the negro is equal, and hence conclude that he is entitled to equal privileges and rights with the white man. If their premises were correct, their conclusions would be logical and just but their premise being wrong, their whole argument fails. I recollect once of having heard a gentleman from one of the northern States, of great power and ability, announce in the House of Representatives, with imposing effect, that we of the South would be compelled, ultimately, to yield upon this subject of slavery, that it was as impossible to war successfully against a principle in politics, as it was in physics or mechanics. That the principle would ultimately prevail. That we, in maintaining slavery as it exists with us, were warring against a principle, a principle founded in nature, the principle of the equality of men. The reply I made to him was, that upon his own grounds, we should, ultimately, succeed, and that he and his associates, in this crusade against our institutions, would ultimately fail. The truth announced, that it was as impossible to war successfully against a principle in politics as it was in physics and mechanics, I admitted; but told him that it was he, and those acting with him, who were warring against a principle. They were attempting to make things equal which the Creator had made unequal...

As I have stated, the truth of this principle may be slow in development, as all truths are and ever have been, in the various branches of science. It was so with the principles announced by Galileo it was so with Adam Smith and his principles of political economy. It was so with Harvey, and his theory of the circulation of the blood. It is stated that not a single one of the medical profession, living at the time of the announcement of the truths made by him, admitted them. Now, they are universally acknowledged. May we not, therefore, look with confidence to the ultimate universal acknowledgment of the truths upon which our system rests? It is the first government ever instituted upon the principles in strict conformity to nature, and the ordination of Providence, in furnishing the materials of human society. Many governments have been founded upon the principle of the subordination and serfdom of certain classes of the same race; such were and are in violation of the laws of nature. Our system commits no such violation of nature's laws. With us, all of the white race, however high or low, rich or poor, are equal in the eye of the law. Not so with the negro. Subordination is his place. He, by nature, or by the curse against Canaan, is fitted for that condition which he occupies in our system. The architect, in the construction of buildings, lays the foundation with the proper material-the granite; then comes the brick or the marble. The substratum of our society is made of the material fitted by nature for it, and by experience we know that it is best, not only for the superior, but for the inferior race, that it should be so. It is, indeed, in conformity with the ordinance of the Creator. It is not for us to inquire into the wisdom of His ordinances, or to question them. For His own purposes, He has made one race to differ from another, as He has made "one star to differ from another star in glory." The great objects of humanity are best attained when there is conformity to His laws and decrees, in the formation of governments as well as in all things else. Our confederacy is founded upon principles in strict conformity with these laws. This stone which was rejected by the first builders "is become the chief of the corner" the real "corner-stone" in our new edifice. I have been asked, what of the future? It has been apprehended by some that we would have arrayed against us the civilized world. I care not who or how many they may be against us, when we stand upon the eternal principles of truth, if we are true to ourselves and the principles for which we contend, we are obliged to, and must triumph...

'The worst kind of nannyism'? Surpassing transvaginal ultrasounds, criminalizing abortion and...

Denying same-sex couples the right to marry under a secular government, destroying public schools for religion, rate a lot higher than a feel-good measure on eating a plant based diet on my personal list of undesireable government intrusions.

The 'government small enough to fit in a woman's uterus' laws are very personal and much more oppressive to many of us, and cause much more harm to many for life in terms of infringing on our freedom to live as we choose.

'Nannyism' is a term the right uses to denigrate all liberal and progressive policies such as Social Security, Medicare and Medicaid. We'll just have to respectfully disagree on this.

So true! Couldn't talk Beckbatshitcrazy Sis out of 'We can't take 4 more years! What will we do?'

Hysteria recently. Steady infusion of toxic waste into the brain reduced a rather selfish person initially into a frothing maniac.

November 8, 2012

With sufficient rainfall and a well, 40 acres and a mule would shut my mouth up! But..

Beck, like most baggers, are too busy hating the rest of us to get out and do physical labor. My Beckbatshit sis is one of them. She won't even try to grow some vegetables in her back yard, although I have urged her to do so. "It's too hot."

And she has employed Mexican emigrants to do her yardwork, but claims that "Since they're under contract to an American emplyer, they are not really staying here or asking for welfare, and they work so cheap, it's a good deal for everyone."

This is the same batshit crazy who told me that "Obama is going around the world to import illegals to vote for the Democrats, bribing them with welfare." Strangely enough she thinks that the only ones imported will be Mexicans. So Mexicans are in every country now. Who knew?

Reality and logic are not Beck's strong points, nor are they of any of his followers. And they vote, dammit.

More from the source article, as this isn't just one poster on a Facebook page spouting this:

Boycott Business who accept Welfare payments

Thirdly, I believe we all need to express disgust with Obama and Democrats in public places. To some extent I already do this. Example:

When I'm at the Wal-mart or grocery story I typically pay with my debit card. On the pad it comes up, "EBT, Debit, Credit, Cash." I make it a point to say loudly to the check-out clerk, "EBT, what is that for?" She inevitably says, "it's government assistance." I respond, "Oh, you mean welfare? Great. I work for a living. I'm paying for my food with my own hard-earned dollars. And other people get their food for free." And I look around with disgust, making sure others in line have heard me.

I am going to step this up. I am going to do far more of this in my life. It's going to be my personal crusade. I hope other libertarians and conservatives will eventually join me.

What I plan to do this week, is to get yard signs made up, at my own expense, that read, "EBT is for Welfare Moochers." I will put the signs out on public property off of the right-of-way so it's entirely legal, in front of every convenience store or grocery store that has a sign out saying "EBT Accepted Here." I may even do some sign waving in front of these stores, holding up my "EBT is for Welfare Moochers," sign, and waving to passers-by.

I have not met one Libertarian who doesn't agree with this. It is all about the money. They suck.
November 8, 2012

It's discouraging. But even if their candidates don't get elected, they are destroying civil society

With cleverly worded measures and propaganda that prey on those who are on the edge financially. Some days, I've felt that this is Libertarian Undeground, and have talked to people about leaving the site.

Because the same people that I see bashing Democratic ideas as old hat, have bought the shiny Libertarian mentality, that makes one pure as the driven snow ideologically, and look down on the complexities of governance. Even though those old hat ideas that gave them an education, a job, and so many things that they assume fell out of the ether and to which they are entitled.

And I found the link to the post that was put on the OP's page, copied from Eric Dondero's shout out on his website:

http://www.libertarianrepublican.net/2012/11/the-end-of-liberty-in-america-only.html

Those who continue to spew the Democrats are not saying the right words, as if it is just up to some person in office to inspire the masses with hot rhetoric to educate all the people, are wrong and not being honest with themselves. They speak as if they had the media in their pockets when we don't, as the Obama campaign victory was not won in the media. It was in spit of the media by one on one work -- that means this must continue, or we will fail.

The expectation of a savior who is a firebrand to inspire, will not not come, as Obama could only do what he could to keep the office of POTUS. It took a marathon on his part, but much more on the part of those will going to go out day after day. Those who look for the strong voice to heat their blood will never find one good one, and will stay home as they did in 2010. I tell people this is not over by a long shot.

The POTUS and Senate and Democratic officials are merely holding back the push for feudalism. When you get right down to it, that is the end of all this brightly wrapped libertarian philosophy, now packaged in many forms, but started by the Koch brothers and akin to their former products, the Birchers and the Teahadists. They are just another Koch funded brand name on fascism and economic oppression. But they won't believe it, they think they found liberty and freedom. I've posted several articles and given many links in the past on this debate, but it's really become a religion for them.

Thanks for the reply there.

Glenn Beck's solution. Does it mean Americans will be spared from his lunacy?

Yes, Glenn, buy some land and till the soil behind a mule to feed yourself. Safer yet, never go on the air again so the Obama legions can't find you. Honestly, we won't be looking for your crazy ass, but keep thinking that and get out of the way. We'll work to help this nation regain its footing in the literacy, critical thinking, science and reason that you did so much to destroy. Bye, bye.
