'When did a woman's body become public property?'

It has been for most of human history as far as the powerful and the priest say.

We also have those who insist on control for genetics and making cannon fodder.

Neither of which respects women.

We have had an experiment in holding to an idea of individual freedom in this country, and apparently the powerful and the priests have decided it is time to end that experiment.

Rush's diatribe on Fluke turned him on, I'll bet. Nice going, GOP.

No Lone Rapist defense on this one. You guys own this prince, trying to give her one of Rick Sanctorum's gifts from God, or practicing for his new job raping women for the state for the GOP.

I wonder what station his radio was set on?

Rush's making light of the horrors committed at Abu Graif comes to mind.

They think this is funny, they're proud of him just like they didn't let up when Giffords was shot. The FB postings praising the killing of the little girl that day, since she'd grow up to a 'bleeding heart liberal' by allegedly Christian posters, quite young as well, terms their social views.

Terrifying POV, well armed, and increasingly in positions of authority. This will, of course, be written off as unrelated to any of my connections I've made... Just another lone crazed rapist...

That's what it's always been about. Mainly to provide cannon fodder. And, BTW:

The 1% do not believe in the morality play that's being served up here. They never have.

They are not subject to these laws, were able to get abortions and birth control before they were made available to the lower classes. There was a period in the sixties and seventies when the rights of the poor and middle class were bubbling up.

These were people who wanted more control over their lives. The Koches and other one percenters decided to influence the people with their default contol mechanism, religion, racism, etc. Example being the rise of televangelism and Reagan, and the rest of them.

Now their lackeys are taking every form of control back for them, denying access to healthcare, voting and jobs in addition to this. It keeps the poor running in circles and desperate.

These games are for increasing the number of the poor, who are being set at each other's throats by the propagandists of the GOP.

Voltaire made a statement on this particular societal phenomenon over two centuries ago. Nothing has changed in that time.

“The comfort of the rich depends upon an abundant supply of the poor.” -Voltaire

The kind that figures they can pay for their own without insurance and skirt the laws.

After all, law is part of that terrible government.

Nothing wrong with this! In WW2 Germany, anyway. Just 'following orders.'

So, are we there yet?

I'm sorry about going there, but at this point I'm having doubts about who really won WW2.

Thanks to Prescott Bush and his offspring.

I had a youtube video of a teabagger MD who was yelling...

In his clinics to his patients about how Obama was going to come to their house and force feed them fruits and vegetables if they voted Democrat.

I mean this was a doctor and he should have known better than that. The crazy is strong in this country.

Must be the water supply or constipation that's making them dizzy. I don't know what to do.

The right attacked her early on for this. The Limbaugh crowd mocked it as the 'watermelon' patch,

Republicans said the 'Gummint' was coming to force vegetables down everyone's throat with the Obama Youth Corps and endlessly discussed Michelle's rump. By June of 2009, the GOP media machine went after this garden:

...No sooner had the garden been announced than a letter addressed to Mrs. Barack Obama arrived at the East Wing from an organization that represents companies selling chemical pesticides and fertilizers. The Mid America CropLife Association, an agribusiness media group, urged the first lady to give conventional agriculture equal time. Referring to chemicals the group euphemistically called “crop protection products,” the letter said not only are such nonorganic techniques necessary, but their safety is also “supported by sound scientific research and innovation....

...To be sure that Obama got the message that she should be using synthetic pesticides in the garden, the association began an online letter-writing campaign.

The White House never responded.

But the blogosphere has had a field day with the letter. And it was nothing compared with the fun Jon Stewart had on “The Daily Show.”

Stewart’s mischievous staff persuaded a spokesman for the American Council on Science and Health, a group that accepts corporate funding from Coca-Cola, Kellogg’s and PepsiCo and generally sides with industries’ positions on health and environmental hazards, to be interviewed about the White House garden. The correspondent: comedian Samantha Bee.

In the recent segment, titled “Little Crop of Horrors,” the narrator said that “this seemingly harmless, 20-by-50-foot token gesture has created a firestorm.”

Bee interviewed Jeffrey Stier, associate director of the council, who referred to the Obamas as “organic limousine liberals.”

“I think the Obama garden should come with a warning label,” he continued. “It’s irresponsible to tell people that you should have to eat organic and locally grown food. Not everyone can afford that. That’s a serious public health concern.”

His reasoning: “People are going to eat fewer fruits and vegetables. Cancer rates will go up. Obesity rates will go up. I think if we decide to eat only locally grown food, we’re going to have a lot of starvation.”

...Starvation and obesity simultaneously...

And Obama hadn't even been in office six months by that time.

The stastistics on the right explain how we got where we are. CSPAN & the other NOOZ won't.

Good points to bring up during the election season this year. And to drive home in local races, as well. I'll add this I found, because it can't be said too often about our opposition:

The single largest defect of modern conservatism is that it has ruined the nation. Conservatives do not have ideas; they have interests.

Conservatives are not “thinkers”; they are rationalizers who give an intellectual gloss to their belief that an alliance of predatory businesspeople and religious extremists should rule the rest of us.

The wreckage caused by modern conservatism lies all around us, and speaks for itself: If conservatism isn’t dead, it should be.
