Bookmarking this for everytime teh crazy gets me down. Great way to start the day!

Thamks for posting this!

I'm seeing one link that does not show that; it appears to be valid; is there a full transcript.

Also the point of this OP seems to be getting lost with peronality conflicts here at DU.

You may want to edit again, making sure that neither yours, nor Robb's, excerpts are the primary language in this OP. But a full transcript with a link for people to verify it and get this thread back to where it belongs,

The issue is the insanity in our society. I remember some years back being struck with horror by this contrast, but no more. It is the truth of so many human failures, that we have to address:

The three children on the left still have the breath of life, barely, but they are alive. The entity on the right was never alive.

What is important, America? Will you deny what you are, can you continue to turn your eyes away from the tools of death in which you feel so much pride?

This that you wrote:

'..today, we don't have to look so much to far-off lands for reports of civilian slaughter.'

You have nailed the problem we are suffering from. Desiring the power to intimidate others, does not support civil society and democracy. It utterly destroys it from top to bottom.

I feel we are being punished. Not by foreign enemies or a vengeful creator. We are being punished by simply being what we are.

It was inevitable that a nation that based its security on deadly force, would experience the same.

JHMO.

Sadly, that does not seem to be the issue tonight. I've got better things to do. (Warning: Kitteh!)

Here's my favorite cheap thrills fight video played by a pair of felines. It has suspense, menace, all the prerequisites for drama.

There's sexual betrayal, unwanted pregnancy, vulgar language, a coward, a woman done wrong, hatred, vengeance, threats of violence and police, even.

I come down on the side of the female feline. Get that two timing scrub but good, GRRR!:

This has been another post from:

Good night all.

True, Robb. I wouldn't have found this OP without the other, though. I am guessing this would have

been locked in GD as a gun post (pro & anti treated the same there) and not political enough.

And he can't respond here, so he put his own spin, mainly going with RFK. The picture of him and the others just break my heart.

There is no Meta and we can figure out to commemorate and move the discussion of gun control in any way that we choose. I do note NYC SKP did support GC to reduce violence at the end.

It's all good to me, we are not the enemy of each other here. We all have some definite enemies with the NRA, ALEC and those who preach violence daily for a living, while the innocent perish.

The object of DU is to move the goal post to peace and freedom to live in safety forward, not play thread monitor or literary critic.

Excellent, moving thread, with your emphasis on how we have allowed this sector of our society to drag us into a way of living that is really a way of dying. We as a people must get back to what is important and what we want our world to be.

No winners, all lose by this.

What is quoted in that OP is exactly what baggers and libertarians believe.

And yes, they would 'let it all burn' to make a point.

They want civil society to be destroyed. They want coroporatist rule.

And they are very close to getting it as public sector workers are demonized and the privatization forces are applauded.

Privatization is economic apartheid, make no mistake about it.

We better get our act together and support those who are for civil society. It has well-funded enemies who would profit directly from its demise.

Woohoo! Lapel pins was his jobs plan huh? A smokescreen for his jobs plan in China...

I remember that, the dog tags we were given and the assignments as to who'd die at school or home.

I lived in range of the Cuban missiles and it was in our faces. We had the sirens and aircraft buzzed the school for more terror.

I wasn't afraid, I developed a certain sense of fatalism. It was guaranteed we'd be hit for strategic reasons.

Plus they educated us with everything nukes did to the people of Japan. They showed us how most of us would be incinerated.

Then long stories of the misery of the 'survivors.' We knew that even if we survived, our lives wouldn't be worth living anyway.

It was in elementary school. I didn't hate the Russians, the Cubans or any of them. But I realized some adults were going to get us all killed for nothing. Effing Idiots.

Nine Inch Nails - Right Where It Belongs

See the animal in his cage that you built
Are you sure what side you're on?
Better not look him too closely in the eye
Are you sure what side of the glass you are on?
See the safety of the life you have built
Everything where it belongs
Feel the hollowness inside of your heart
And it's all
Right where it belongs

(Chorus)
What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you think you know
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you want it to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks?
Would you find yourself
Find yourself afraid to see?

What if all the world's inside of your head
Just creations of your own?
Your devils and your gods
All the living and the dead
And you're really all alone?
You can live in this illusion
You can choose to believe
You keep looking but you can't find the woods
While you're hiding in the trees

(Chorus)
What if everything around you
Isn't quite as it seems?
What if all the world you used to know
Is an elaborate dream?
And if you look at your reflection
Is it all you want it to be?
What if you could look right through the cracks
Would you find yourself
Find yourself afraid to see?

And so it goes.

Thanks, sheshe. Great to see this young man again. And Obama rocks!

Being deaf is really hard in a social context. But sign language can be beautiful and very expressive.

Chasing Cars - Snow Patrol (ASL)

We'll do it all, everything, on our own
We don't need anything or anyone

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world

I don't quite know how to say how I feel
Those three words are said too much
They're not enough

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

Let's waste time
Chasing cars
Around our heads
I need your grace
to remind me
to find my own

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world
Forget what we're told
Before we get too old
Show me a garden that's bursting into life

All that I am
All that I ever was
Is here in your perfect eyes
They're all I can see
I don't know where
Confused about how as well
I just know that these things
Will never change for us at all

If I lay here
If I just lay here
Would you lie with me
And just forget the world

Barack Obama, our transformative president.

I found more complete transcripts of this interview. Let's just say the N word was used often...

The full interview was so offensive, it's no wonder much of it was edited out.

Yes, it was that bad.

I'm not posting it, because blacks have heard enough.

Just sayin'
