Bringing up HRC is red meat to conservatives. Her bashers use buzzwords, misinformation and outrage.

My retort to one of many who call her a 'corporatist' and said Rand was better, is from the lefty icon:

http://www.democraticunderground.com/1017158126

No, we are not waiting for their sacred utopia. We know who will cheer as we perish. No one should forget the policies for which HRC was savaged in the 1990s.

Healthcare, the rights of children, women and expanding the social safety net and education. Her haters won't discuss those issues, which shows those are not their sacred 4 issues they say we must vote for Rand to save us.

Their only comments on those things are failures of our attempts to secure them, but gee, with friends like them, who needs enemies?

Sorry, but we've got to save ourselves from the Pauls!

August 26, 2014

Over half the country are pets, huh? We know how well that worked out for us. (Warning: Graphic Pic)

They forgot one minor issue for their continued dominance of the discussion here. Our rights and our lives are not numbers on their profit and loss sheets, written off like Mitt's 47%.

(NOTE: The back story of this image is that those children were rescued.)

But the analogy remains. Their suffering is part of the idol of 'free trade' and the plantation mentality of the Libertarian Tea Party GOP. They only list 4 things that will make them vote LP that come from their status in society now, not ours.

None of them equate to the DNC platform, which they call 'statism' and us 'sheeple.' Yeah, we will organize to protect any institution, government, church, etc. that holds back the empowering entities of the Libertarian cultists from our 'liberty' and 'freedom' which will cost them money. That which is stolen from us is hidden by the 'invisible hand of the market' to them, but not to us.

Yes, my feelings are quite harsh. Since it's not just history and it's killing people now. As far as the 'Indieteapublicans' as JAG calls them are concerned, they expect us to stop squawking like chickens being crushed underfoot as the elephants dance.

We will not go easily. Keep on disrespecting us, and we might just bite, yes, we will become bad pets.

Their sacred property rights have not protected us, no, they supported real slavery and still do with their free market canard.

Then they call us Obama cheerleaders, partisans and other such things to put down what we need from government and society. Make no mistake, when they disrespect the process that so many died to create to give us a voice, they are disrespecting our humanity.

They want us to believe they are big philosophers, all full of theories and we are their intellectual inferiors.

I say we have transcended their view of reality and are going for much higher goals than their 4 sacred cows they try to beat us over the head with. No, we won't bow down to them. We won't submit to live by the charity that they say is the solution to poverty, which is just another way to deny us our rights.

Go for it! I'll take the DNC platform over theirs anyday:

BERNIE SANDERS Uncovers 1980 Koch Agenda- "What Do the Koch Brothers Want?"

What else do the Koch brothers want?

In 1980, David Koch ran as the Libertarian Party’s vice-presidential candidate in 1980.

Let’s take a look at the 1980 Libertarian Party platform.

Here are just a few excerpts of the Libertarian Party platform that David Koch ran on in 1980:

“We urge the repeal of federal campaign finance laws, and the immediate abolition of the despotic Federal Election Commission.”

“We favor the abolition of Medicare and Medicaid programs.”

“We oppose any compulsory insurance or tax-supported plan to provide health services, including those which finance abortion services.”

“We also favor the deregulation of the medical insurance industry.”

“We favor the repeal of the fraudulent, virtually bankrupt, and increasingly oppressive Social Security system. Pending that repeal, participation in Social Security should be made voluntary.”

“We propose the abolition of the governmental Postal Service. The present system, in addition to being inefficient, encourages governmental surveillance of private correspondence. Pending abolition, we call for an end to the monopoly system and for allowing free competition in all aspects of postal service.”

“We oppose all personal and corporate income taxation, including capital gains taxes.”

“We support the eventual repeal of all taxation.”

“As an interim measure, all criminal and civil sanctions against tax evasion should be terminated immediately.”

“We support repeal of all law which impede the ability of any person to find employment, such as minimum wage laws.”

“We advocate the complete separation of education and State. Government schools lead to the indoctrination of children and interfere with the free choice of individuals. Government ownership, operation, regulation, and subsidy of schools and colleges should be ended.”

“We condemn compulsory education laws … and we call for the immediate repeal of such laws.”

“We support the repeal of all taxes on the income or property of private schools, whether profit or non-profit.”

“We support the abolition of the Environmental Protection Agency.”

“We support abolition of the Department of Energy.”

“We call for the dissolution of all government agencies concerned with transportation, including the Department of Transportation.”

“We demand the return of America's railroad system to private ownership. We call for the privatization of the public roads and national highway system.”

“We specifically oppose laws requiring an individual to buy or use so-called "self-protection" equipment such as safety belts, air bags, or crash helmets.”

“We advocate the abolition of the Federal Aviation Administration.”

“We advocate the abolition of the Food and Drug Administration.”

“We support an end to all subsidies for child-bearing built into our present laws, including all welfare plans and the provision of tax-supported services for children.”

“We oppose all government welfare, relief projects, and ‘aid to the poor’ programs. All these government programs are privacy-invading, paternalistic, demeaning, and inefficient. The proper source of help for such persons is the voluntary efforts of private groups and individuals.”

“We call for the privatization of the inland waterways, and of the distribution system that brings water to industry, agriculture and households.”

“We call for the repeal of the Occupational Safety and Health Act.”

“We call for the abolition of the Consumer Product Safety Commission.”

“We support the repeal of all state usury laws.”

In other words, the agenda of the Koch brothers is not only to defund Obamacare. The agenda of the Koch brothers is to repeal every major piece of legislation that has been signed into law over the past 80 years that has protected the middle class, the elderly, the children, the sick, and the most vulnerable in this country...

Tomorrow it will be Social Security, ending Medicare as we know it, repealing the minimum wage. It seems to me that the Koch brothers will not be content until they get everything they believe they are entitled to.

Our great nation can no longer be hijacked by right-wing billionaires like the Koch brothers.

For the sake of our children and our grandchildren, for the sake of our economy, we have got to let democracy prevail.

We've heard these memes for years, Americans have come to believe this is how it has to be.

Another explanation of this here:

How Freedom Became Tyranny

Rightwing libertarians have turned “freedom” into an excuse for greed and exploitation.

George Monbiot - December 19, 2011

Freedom: who could object? Yet this word is now used to justify a thousand forms of exploitation. Throughout the rightwing press and blogosphere, among thinktanks and governments, the word excuses every assault on the lives of the poor, every form of inequality and intrusion to which the 1% subject us. How did libertarianism, once a noble impulse, become synonymous with injustice?

In the name of freedom – freedom from regulation – the banks were permitted to wreck the economy. In the name of freedom, taxes for the super-rich are cut. In the name of freedom, companies lobby to drop the minimum wage and raise working hours. In the same cause, US insurers lobby Congress to thwart effective public healthcare; the government rips up our planning laws; big business trashes the biosphere. This is the freedom of the powerful to exploit the weak, the rich to exploit the poor.

Right-wing libertarianism recognises few legitimate constraints on the power to act, regardless of the impact on the lives of others. In the UK it is forcefully promoted by groups like the TaxPayers’ Alliance, the Adam Smith Institute, the Institute of Economic Affairs and Policy Exchange. Their conception of freedom looks to me like nothing but a justification for greed.

So why have we been been so slow to challenge this concept of liberty? I believe that one of the reasons is as follows. The great political conflict of our age – between neocons and the millionaires and corporations they support on one side and social justice campaigners and environmentalists on the other – has been mischaracterised as a clash between negative and positive freedoms.

More at the link about the meaning of positive and negative freedoms and how the concepts are being used against women and all the other groups:

http://www.monbiot.com/2011/12/19/how-freedom-became-tyranny/

They have not changed the agenda, just packaged it differently. I have other examples of their state platform, no moderation.

And we are fighting over this at DU with good faith, with shiny things in our faces, when they are not arguing in good faith. The USPS lingo is the same as the NSA lingo. And so much is like that.

It has nothing to do with what they say it is, and it's one RF101* here every week or faster, to depress the Democrats from voting by demoralizing them. And they use the 'left' to do the same, but the results will benefit the Libertarian Party.

I have to be practical and not dogmatic. People in real life can't wait for their utopia. Which as you explain in your OP, is not one for us.

*Take a good long read of the link below if you have the time. It's continuous and has worked for many years:

Yes, 'the Rand Paul shit was a bridge too far.' I only saw reactions to the weekend outbreak.

Send me some links by PM, HOF people. I've seen some pushback, so there must have been a lot of it posted.

But it was building up in posts earlier, you know the Barry Goldwater theme, 'In your heart you know he's right' to which I always retorted back then, 'In your heart you know he's nuts.'

I wish the Libertarians would quit the concern trolling and just say outright that is where they are. Just be proud! Embrace their inner Rawn Pall! The Democrats are NONE OF THEIR BUSINESS. Make their case without dragging Democrats into their fact free 'critiques.'

Because:

We know no Democrat will ever be good enough for them. Like duh, they aren't Democrats. Although some are deluded Democrats who have actually moved on from the Democratic Party and fell for the sacred 4. They should quit telling Democrats what to do, as they can't stand them and they're dancing with the Devil but deny it, but I know where this stuff is going when the only Dems they like are only following the LP issues. A lot of DINOs in that group, folks, don't be fooled.

You can tell by the fact that there is never a word of praise for any liberal victory by Democrats, period. No constructive, real world solutions. No plan to govern, and the Democratic Party is 'the party fof government.' The default is corporations and theology. Quit blowing smoke up our ass.

Instead of negativity, they should tell us how great the Pauls are, along with the JBS, FreedomWorks, and the rest of them. They may claim they don't like them, but the end result of their agenda gets the same work done. They need to refute or defend everything on the Libertarian platform since that is what is coming to pass. They swallowed the sacred 4 issues and say they would vote for a Democrat, if only they would support those 4 parts of the Libertarian Party platform.

Hello! Democrats are not and should not be Libertarians and a lot of people don't agree with the sacred 4 issues. Deal with it! They say they won't vote or will vote third party, which helps Libertarians.

The Libertarian Party, like the John Birch Society and the Tea Party, were begun by the Koches and many other one-percenters, like the fossil fuel corporations, the most powerful and corrupting in the world. That is where the money to shovel this bullshit is coming from, and they took the bait, the MIC bait they rail against.

The Libertarians show their stripes by not railing on threads about what ALEC with plutocrat funding is doing to us, and how it will push things to be all about money, much of it covered with blood. Thus the alleged anti-war holier than thou routine rings hallow. Koch brothers hosting Cruz and the rest of the warmongers doesn't get on their radar.

It'd be pitiful if it didn't actually lead to such evil things coming to pass, by not looking at the reality of who is feeding them that swill. They are playing the DU by NOT telling us how great their platform is and what it means for us. They won't do it directly, only piss and moan about what we are not doing right, to make us give up. They need to speak their truth to us in its unvarnished glory, not gripe at us about us.

It's like the MRA's who focus on the actions of women, and not on how great they are. A former Nazi identified the MRA as a hate group, as they focus on destroying someone else. They are here to destroy us by discouraging and slanting the conversation so that in despair we adopt their nihilist, every man for himself philosophy, and give up on our strengths, instead of saying what's so great about their platform while they destroy every vestiage of the New Deal.

I double dare 'em. If they won't, they are just doing the Segretti with all their F.U.D. infecting DU. I fart in their general direction. Meh.

Loyalsister expressed this very well:

A basic libertarian principle is
zero taxes. That includes corporations. If there is an absolute need for roads or something it should be paid for with a regressive sales tax. Not progressive.

On social issue Rand Paul is extremely conservative. When he takes the libertarian position on zero government involvement that means health care, social security, and no involvement in helping people living in poverty.
Not the least bit progressive.

I think those things totally nullify any possible progressive positions on MJ and foreign policy. Here in America our success should depend not on an accident of birth, but on the strength of our work ethic and the scope of our dreams.

The Anti 'War on Drugs' is the Libertarian meme to win black voters. But from:

Black People Unimpressed With White People

We still see...

These guys, who aren’t going to vote for this guy’s son

Because blacks weren't oppressed before the 'War On Drugs' and that's the only issue they care about, right?

Nothing like the Voting Rights Act, raising the minimum wage, protecting worker rights and all the rest that Rand voted against.

Because it's all about the pot, don't you know?

Yup, the Libertarians got a real winner with that one!

NOT...
