Dredging up old stories and any anniversary to not criticize PBO but to accuse him of heinous crimes

Goes on here everyday. This is not criticism, not based on fact but the gut contention PBO is a person of incredible evil that really loves killing and hurting people, that he hates this country, all its people, and the people of the world. That he wants them enslaved, that he wants to be impoverished, suffer, etc.

Obama the anti-christ, DU version. It's the same thing as a RWNJ site. After a while, this contention that it's all the same is theirs and arises from the Koch funded disinfo agents that have cultlike followers. This is continuous. Most recent example:

Today is the 798th anniversary of the Sealing of Magna Carta

...How, one wonders, is president Obama going to mark this day?

Perhaps by marking someone for murder by drone without trial, perhaps by disappearing someone else, or perhaps by instituting - in the name of Freedom - random searches of people walking down the street?

http://www.democraticunderground.com/10023021135

Oh, lookee. A random Wikipedia page that suddenly says Obama is over turning a thousand year of freedom. That doesn't even fly, those freedoms didn't free the slaves, give women the right to vote, end child labor etc. But let's go back to those thrilling days of yesteryear and say that Obama is destroying the Enlightment and all of Western Civilization, Except when he's enforcing the things that Western Civilization, with all its festering wounds insist on happening aournd the world today. Anyone who doesn't know, just don't ask. You might decide to just shoot yourself.

Let's see, murdering, not allowing a trial, disappearing someone else, etc. As if it's an establshed fact.

Well it is according to Alex Jones, World Net Daily, Drudge an the other spiritual kin of this stuff. Really? Really? Given a pass as a criticism of the government or Obama? Freeperville has found a new home!

Don't worry, it'll get a lot of recs. Next thing will be the anniversies of any mass murder to attach to Obama. Let's see, St. Valentine's Day massacre, Hiroshima, or 911, Boston, after a while it's all a blur of hatred that is based on the idea that American government doesn't do anything right is a total sham, so burn it down and then utopia wll arise. Thanks, Ayn Rand, what a lovely idea.

We've already got several threads I read but didn't comment on, insisting Obama is intending to commit a holocaust and attacking anyone who didn't go along with all of that. Really?

Sounds like this place was annexed by Glennbeckistan. But hey, the big money media made it so ubiquitous, that it's just what everyone has to agree with.

Here's the image folks are looking for, this describes your view of a man following the laws you don't like. And it's straight from Glennbeckistan. But many here really do express this at DU. So how to separate the spirit of this from what's being posted at DU?

Don't bother, it can't be, just here it is:

Laws written by people you elected, or failed to elect, and then scream since you think both parties are the same, that Rand Paul is the new savior to worship at the feet of (beware if you get too low to the ground, his crew stomps on heads), and you didn't vote, won't vote, will never vote again, never, ever, ever.

And are too proud to work in a precinct to change the government, because that's just piddling worthless shit. Any person that advises that is a partisan hack like me and not at all cool.

So let's not be partisan, not support the platform of a social safety net and equal ritghts. Let is all go rot, it's not good enough anymore. The same who wailed and left the party because of CPI, now found another cause. And after that it will be another one, and another. The Koch brothers have enough money to influence the media, and they are so proud of their success.

Let's all sit at home and cry. And cry we will, because there are real partisans who will definitely show up at every local meeting and vote in every election. The ones who steal the rights of people daily, but those don't matter as we revel in the coming of ragnarok at DU.

Nah, only civil 'liberties' matter, not hose for the others.

So many want government to disappear to save that freedom, liberty, life, etc. Grover Nordquist and Charles Koch want the same thing along with the heroes of the Libertarians that are being worshipped here.

How did it happen that all the rest that these evil fucks did, do now and intend to do, just doesn't matter? Why continue to denigrate Obama and all government, with no solution being offered, which is what the Becks and their crew want? Think the church and corporations will protect the rights of Americans then? Or will they suddenly go away when the government is gone? Does it look like they are giving up right now, and only barely held back by that awful government, and Obama?

Looking at the big picture, too many are not interested in improving government, despise every single person that works in it. That's the source material for this dreckt.
And we're called Obamabots, asskissers, authoritarian swooners, cheerleaders, groupspeakers worshippers, sheeple, mindless drones of the state when the voice of the Koch Left to Right media machine rules this place?

Pot, meet kettle. But it's not that simple, either. It's not like the GOP and Democratic Party platforms are sports teams here. They are not the same, except to Alex Jones, Patriot Movement, David Duke and the Paulites, and the Libertarians. They want the government gone.

They want a theocracy based on their view of liberty, which will truly make the rest of us slaves and are working to create poverty, discrimination, steal the rights of women and minorities, make everything unaccountable through privatization.

The two parties and these entities, are not the same. I guess while the conservative owned media says to go bonkers over their latest creation, like the Tea Party before, we should just forget civil rights in this country.

I hope they played this at the wedding:

One Love! One Heart!
Let's get together and feel all right.
Hear the children cryin' (One Love!);
Hear the children cryin' (One Heart!),

Sayin': give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Sayin': let's get together and feel all right. Wo wo-wo wo-wo!

Let them all pass all their dirty remarks (One Love!);
There is one question I'd really love to ask (One Heart!):
Is there a place for the hopeless sinner,
Who has hurt all mankind just to save his own beliefs?

One Love! What about the one heart? One Heart!
What about - ? Let's get together and feel all right
As it was in the beginning (One Love!);
So shall it be in the end (One Heart!),

All right!
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Let's get together and feel all right.
One more thing!

Let's get together to fight this Holy Armagiddyon (One Love!),
So when the Man comes there will be no, no doom (One Song!).
Have pity on those whose chances grows t'inner;
There ain't no hiding place from the Father of Creation.

Sayin': One Love! What about the One Heart? (One Heart!)
What about the - ? Let's get together and feel all right.
I'm pleadin' to mankind! (One Love!);
Oh, Lord! (One Heart) Wo-ooh!

Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Let's get together and feel all right.
Give thanks and praise to the Lord and I will feel all right;
Let's get together and feel all right. /fadeout/

He gets 'serious props,' while Obama says same but it's called 'unlawful' per OP last night:

Judge: Obama sex assault comments unlawful command influence.

Two defendants in military sexual assault cases cannot be punitively discharged, if found guilty, because of “unlawful command influence” derived from comments made by President Barack Obama, a judge ruled in a Hawaii military court this week.

Navy Judge Cmdr. Marcus Fulton ruled during pretrial hearings in two sexual assault cases — U.S. vs. Johnson and U.S. vs. Fuentes — that comments made by Obama as commander in chief would unduly influence any potential sentencing, according to a court documents obtained by Stars and Stripes

On Wednesday and Thursday, Fulton approved the pretrial defense motions, which used as evidence comments that Obama made about sexual assault at a May 7 news conference:

“The bottom line is: I have no tolerance for this,” Obama said, according to an NBC News story submitted as evidence by defense attorneys in the sexual assault cases.

‘I expect consequences,” Obama added. “So I don’t just want more speeches or awareness programs or training, but ultimately folks look the other way. If we find out somebody’s engaging in this, they’ve got to be held accountable — prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged. Period.”

I posted on that thread. Obama and the Australian man reflect my views. The perception is being created that Americans have no one leading on this, despite Obama being on the case. I posted what Obama said in May, but no one wanted to hear it. The full story below from then is below, but this new one where they use Obama stating his policy to deny enacting it is disgusting.

We need to toss out those who don't give sexual assault the attention it deserves. We need more Gillenbrands, McCaskills and Murrays in office and less who kowtow to the old ways. I love the Australian using the words, 'brothers and sisters.' We have a long way to go to respecting those who try to move this country forward.

Obama: 'No tolerance' for military sexual assault

By Michael O'Brien, Political Reporter, NBC News

News Conference, East Room, White House, May 7, 2013.

...The president said he had spoken today with Defense Secretary Chuck Hagel to urge him to “exponentially step up” efforts to identify suspects in assaults, and aggressively prosecute those cases.

“The bottom line is: I have no tolerance for this,” Obama said at a press conference following his meeting with South Korean President Park Geun-hye.

‘I expect consequences,” Obama added. “So I don’t just want more speeches or awareness programs or training, but ultimately folks look the other way. If we find out somebody’s engaging in this, they’ve got to be held accountable – prosecuted, stripped of their positions, court martialed, fired, dishonorably discharged. Period.”

“For those who are in uniform who’ve experience sexual assault, I want them to hear directly from their commander in chief that I’ve got their backs,” the president said. “I will support them. And we’re not going to tolerate this stuff, and there will be accountability...”

June 15, 2013

Well said, and needs to be said more often. Forest and trees... (warning, long post)

Anyone who 'can't see how the Kochs and their minions have fooled him/her into believing Obama is the enemy' is bambozzled or else is here depressing us from going forward, which would also be exactly what the Koches want. How anyone cannot see the money behind the media is beyond me. A DUer wrote this and I saved it, to think on and recall the items in it. I have no link, as it was in Meta:

But there are, on the internet, also some individuals, and groups, who clearly promote agendas that coincide with the same agendas as the wealthiest and most powerful interests on the planet.

DU, Kos, etc. may seem insignificant to some, but as we all know,

(1) Money strongly influences information
(2) Information becomes public opinion
(3) Public opinion elects power
(4) Power greatly influences profit margins and the distribution of power
(5) The outcome of any election can depend on a single vote

I'm just sayin'...that there are people out there with unlimited wealth, who have no qualms about sparing no expense in using their money to spread information that will form public opinion, in order to elect candidates favorable to their private profit and power interests.

There are no restrictions, or financial considerations, preventing them from doing so. If I were of their corrupt ilk, corrupt ilk meaning individuals such as the Koch Brothers, I would definitely spend a few pennies to sway public opinion in my favor, everywhere, in order to promote my self interests.

(Come to think of it, I would probably even help finance a think tank to promote my self-serving agenda. Makes good logical sense.)

I would certainly finance individuals and groups whose function it would be to swing public opinion, and the Democratic Party, to the right in any way that I possibly could. Being filthy rich beyond comprehension, I would most assuredly do this. Actually, I would probably not even have to think about it, as it would be the task of some of my highly talented, extremely well paid employees, to insure that this was done.

The Koch brothers are some of the richest people on the planet, and have used their money to influence every kind of media, from childhood and on, if they don't buy it directly. They once stayed in the shadows, behind the John Birch Society, the Libertarian Party and all its associated institutions and think tanks, they personally created.

They funded the AFP and FreedomWorks, but at long last came out of the shadows and showed themselves to threaten Obama in 2010 and created the Tea Party. Charles Koch publicly demanded, along with their pal Nordquist that they would hurt Obama if he didn't bow to them but the fabled DU version of a spineless Obama didn't.

And they have carried through on every one of their threats. You mentioned the Palast article. I posted on that and Keystone in the BOG. You know, where the weak minded Obamabots hang out and worship him, haha. They further helped their buddy, Ron Paul and now Rand, and have changed the USA from ALEC legislation state to state, with nothing less than the destruction of the public square and the federal government which obstructed their aims.

They are against all civil and human rights, which are not the same as these 'civil liberties' they sold so many on, who don't comprehend the Koches' philosophy or the consequences, but want something shiny and new, that is really as old as the monarchy. Bambozzled and not able to confess it, they now demand we bow to their ideas and incite the mob against Obama, which is the Koch brothers goal. Going at it from both sides, the best technique ever. How anyone could forget Thom Hartmann's piece here at DU and what we're up against is not a person I'll bow to, anymore than I do PBO:

Thom Hartmann: Conservative Millennials, Boomers & Libertarians all being Conned

http://www.democraticunderground.com/?com=view_post&forum=1017&pid=44227

Just one of many articles on their long ranging work to destroy Obama and democracy. They and their media created the Tea Party to stop the Bush tax cuts sunsetting, to get this pipeline, to destroy faith in our government and take down Obama. Not because of what he has or has not done. They want his ideals of uplifting the poor and saving this nation destroyed.

Covert Operations - The billionaire brothers who are waging a war against Obama.

by Jane Mayer August 30, 2010

David H. Koch in 1996. He and his brother Charles are lifelong libertarians and have quietly given more than a hundred million dollars to right-wing causes.

On May 17th, a black-tie audience at the Metropolitan Opera House applauded as a tall, jovial-looking billionaire took the stage. It was the seventieth annual spring gala of American Ballet Theatre, and David H. Koch was being celebrated for his generosity as a member of the board of trustees; he had recently donated $2.5 million toward the company’s upcoming season, and had given many millions before that. Koch received an award while flanked by two of the gala’s co-chairs, Blaine Trump, in a peach-colored gown, and Caroline Kennedy Schlossberg, in emerald green. Kennedy’s mother, Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis, had been a patron of the ballet and, coincidentally, the previous owner of a Fifth Avenue apartment that Koch had bought, in 1995, and then sold, eleven years later, for thirty-two million dollars, having found it too small.

The gala marked the social ascent of Koch, who, at the age of seventy, has become one of the city’s most prominent philanthropists. In 2008, he donated a hundred million dollars to modernize Lincoln Center’s New York State Theatre building, which now bears his name. He has given twenty million to the American Museum of Natural History, whose dinosaur wing is named for him. This spring, after noticing the decrepit state of the fountains outside the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Koch pledged at least ten million dollars for their renovation. He is a trustee of the museum, perhaps the most coveted social prize in the city, and serves on the board of Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center, where, after he donated more than forty million dollars, an endowed chair and a research center were named for him.

One dignitary was conspicuously absent from the gala: the event’s third honorary co-chair, Michelle Obama. Her office said that a scheduling conflict had prevented her from attending. Yet had the First Lady shared the stage with Koch it might have created an awkward tableau. In Washington, Koch is best known as part of a family that has repeatedly funded stealth attacks on the federal government, and on the Obama Administration in particular.

With his brother Charles, who is seventy-four, David Koch owns virtually all of Koch Industries, a conglomerate, headquartered in Wichita, Kansas, whose annual revenues are estimated to be a hundred billion dollars. The company has grown spectacularly since their father, Fred, died, in 1967, and the brothers took charge. The Kochs operate oil refineries in Alaska, Texas, and Minnesota, and control some four thousand miles of pipeline. Koch Industries owns Brawny paper towels, Dixie cups, Georgia-Pacific lumber, Stainmaster carpet, and Lycra, among other products. Forbes ranks it as the second-largest private company in the country, after Cargill, and its consistent profitability has made David and Charles Koch—who, years ago, bought out two other brothers—among the richest men in America. Their combined fortune of thirty-five billion dollars is exceeded only by those of Bill Gates and Warren Buffett...

A lot more at the link:

Remember, folks, that they have much more money in their hands now. Even to fund the right and the left and conspiracy theorists. They have made it very profitable and popular to denigrate the Democratic Party and Obama. Some may not question negativity and jump on it like a dog on a piece of raw steak and get very excited about it. Better see who's tossing that red meat and why they're doing it. Big picture.

June 15, 2013

Keep people who believe in equal rights in the White House and vote out those in Congress who don't.

The institution is a creation of government, is there to support our people and values, and we have to show with our votes what our values are. It's as simple as that. We need more Gillenbrands, McCaskills and people that are angry at rape in office, instead of leaving the military and nation in the hands of bigots. No one said it'd be easy, and this country has been convulsed from the left and right trying to move it forward and backward. This is who reforms these institutions, which are tools of the people that pay for them to exist. We must take control or they will disintegrate into a state of mind such as paramilitaries and juntas.

That's the nature of unregulated institutions they will keep pushing the limits until the people take away the funding that allows it. Right now we have too much private money funding those who are robbing the public trough and their morals are reflected in government. It's still up to us, we are many, they are few. We can't be fooled by their bravado. We're still the boss until we give up and let them rule us.

June 15, 2013

Same way everything is being changed, Acts of Congress. It requires changes in that body first.

We need more Senators like Kirsten Gillibrand and Claire McCaskill who mirror the views of Obama and others to change the military. We already have Michelle Obama working on the needs of soldiers and their families, and those Senators like Patty Murray who work hard to attend to the needs of soldiers and their families and we need more.

And less swayed by private defense contractors who have been a source of illicit behavior again and again. Working alongside regular military they cannot be ignored, nor has the sexist voice of Rush on AFN. They have effected people in uniform and IMO, denigrated the force. Yes, this has been going on for a long time and some veterans joined these companies to act an the fashion of mercenaries to make up for what they saw as a lack of financial gain in their years in the service. They are a formidable economic and political block in this country, and not for the better, I say. We must elect their opposition.

I don't want those who are and have been doing what is right, to be punished by the acts of those who have found an unofficial (and I still will say unofficial despite my anger, justified or not at this judge going against the tidal change that must happen on this issue) niche to commit predatory acts in uniform. Rape culture has no place in our government, supported by taxes.

Goodness knows there has been enough to be angry at the military about, for which Congress and presidents who were elected by the public for whatever reason, set them on the path to do. They are not a law unto themselves, but with large bureaucracies, like large corporations, they may appear that way. While some may want to destroy all large organizations hoping it will free mankind, the needs of mankind can sometimes only be meet by large groups.

Life in uniform is a transformational event. The people in the service are trained to do things we find laudable, such as those who went to assist Hurricane Sandy survivors and communities and those who come back to use their educations to move us forward in many fields. I'm not bashing all of them, but I won't excuse criminal behavior that maims the lives of others.

Because that isn't moving us ahead. A number of women and men who were mistreated and did not get justice from these military run courts have come back to lives of mental disorder, homelessness and committed suicide. They could have been so much more, and have been devalued while the perps have not. It's time to turn that way of thinking around wherever it is has a foothold. I'm sure, from the comments of veterans here at DU, that the vast majority of those who serve and have served, don't want these perps finding a comfortable home where they once risked everything.

It's about badly needed social change. When the orders on racial integration in the service by Harry Truman came into effect, there was still opposition to it but change came, and it was past time it came. The military has been forced to effect social engineering within its own ranks that have benefited society in the past, and the people who leave the military will be helping move society forward from their latest changes, with women and gays.

Even though we have this to deal with now, it will change. Those who join the service come from many backgrounds and cultures but many have said their time in the service changed their views on other people and upon their return to civilian life, transformed their neighbors with their experience. This is going to happen again.

June 15, 2013

Obama reflects my views on this. He can't win, really. People yell he must use the 'bully pulpit.'

If he does say something that reflects his views and those of millions of unpopular people like sexual assault victims, someone will claim the same bully pulpit denied their rights. Yeah, there should not be undue influence, but to call his words 'illegal' - give me a break.

So they're going to keep on getting away with it and harm others if they aren't discharged. When they finished their time, they'll get a honorable discharge and benefits and go back to civilian life to do the same. The judge using those words that even if found guilty they can't be discharged is saying the service protects rapists. They're untouchable now.

Senator Kirsten Gillibrand was right and people in the Congress were wrong to allow these judges to protect felons in uniform. What a fucking disgrace and I do mean fucking.

His reason is to keep women at home barefoot and pregnant:

Rick Perry: Outlawing All Access To Abortion Is ‘My Goal’

By Tara Culp-Ressler on Dec 11, 2012 at 5:50 pm

"...To be clear, my goal, and the goal of many of those joining me here today, is to make abortion, at any stage, a thing of the past. While Roe v. Wade prevents us from taking that step, it does allow states to do some things to protect life if they can show there is a compelling state interest. I don’t think there is any issue that better fits the definition of ‘compelling state interest’ than preventing the suffering of our state’s unborn. [...]

Again, the ideal world is a world without abortion. Until then, however, we will continue to pass laws to ensure abortions are as rare as possible under existing law."

Perry does not support legal abortion access for women who have become impregnated from rape or incest, a far-right position that cost several anti-choice candidates their seats in last month’s election.

The governor has already taken significant steps toward accomplishing his goal in Texas. He has signed a bill requiring women seeking abortions to undergo a mandatory ultrasound — the same type of legislation that the Oklahoma Supreme Court recently ruled unconstitutional because it goes too far to restrict women’s right to legal abortion under Roe v. Wade — and is working hard to defund the Planned Parenthood clinics that provide reproductive services to low-income women across the state.

http://thinkprogress.org/health/2012/12/11/1319871/rick-perry-abortion-goal/

Obama fought back on this, but you can see what Perry's goals are. What difference does equal pay mean to a housewife - who's not paid anyway. Perry will ensure they stay pregnant:
