And you know that basic civics about omnibus appropriation bills and veto power is needed.

Some folks go off on a tear from a sensational media story on a vote they don't like, but don't follow up. It's important to visit the page or contact whoever we see in these news stories to find what the final vote tally or amendments to a bill are; if it even passed; and the bigger picture of the larger bill. Rather than expend a lot of energy or get discouraged. The media is expert at breaking our hearts, which serves their owners.

If these bills are not passed, government shuts down totally. Some people forget that is the goal of the GOP and the Tea Party. It really is, they're not kidding. They are constantly blackmailing those who are progressive with their tactics to keep government functioning.

The battle is in our states, and it's not impossible, as the video shows as in the past, we can unite to defeat those who don't believe in equality for all of us. I think the man in the video gave the best analysis of how to do it. Never too late. Never over.

Are we going through the 3rd Reconstruction?

Are we going through the 3rd Reconstruction?

Published on Jan 28, 2013

Rev. Dr. William Barber provides a seven minute reframing of American history that is surprisingly, even shockingly timely in the context of America's present-day battle over voting rights.

In his view, we are currently going through the third reconstruction. The first Reconstruction took place after the Civil War. Fusion politics — a governing coalition including Lincoln Republicans, freedmen and former slaves, and populists — made it possible for former slaves to become business, community, and political leaders. But fusion politics was snuffed out by a violent backlash, and replaced by Jim Crow laws that blocked African Americans from voting through poll taxes, impossible "tests," and terrorism.

In the 1960s, there was another attempt at reconstruction, better known as the Civil Rights Movement. The progress we made was met with another violent backlash, culminating in the assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Robert F. Kennedy in 1968.

Dr. Barber identifies the possibility of a third reconstruction, one that could actually succeed, with the launch of Barack Obama's campaign for president in 2008. Once again, this attempt at fusion politics has been met with a hateful backlash. The backlash against integration, equality, and trans-racial governing coalitions has, in all three instances, included attacks on voting rights of African Americans and other minorities. Rev. Barber believes that change is inevitable because of demographic shifts in America and the effectiveness of fusion politics.

I found this going through links from DUer Egberto Willies (I think he's in Texas) who has a blog and does a call-in talk radio show Coffee Party Radio (versus the Tea Party).

I hope we can help him spread the work of Fusion Politics for the 3rd Reconstruction we know is building behind the media curtain in the USA. I found this through his OP:

We need to transform American politics and bring back the progressivism discussed in this video and learn the true history of the South and America. This is the quiet revolution that will not be touted in major media. It is much needed and the positive solution to our dilemmas.

Barack Obama and the History of Fusion Politics

If he'd been kept in jail, it wouldn't have happened, no matter what. She called the first time...

The neighbors called the next two times. It was an ongoing crime in progress that was not taken care of. So much is let go under the banner of 'family' or 'domestic.' It's time to stop this diminishment of assault based on place or relationship. Letting these things go on affects all of society ineventually. The perps don't learn; the person hurt is suffering disruption that may lead to unemployment or health problems from stress, much less from the damages of the assault; and any children in the family will be taught a bad example. I've seen this let go and also seen it dealt with very strongly. The more powerful that the intervention is, the better in the cases I've seen.

But RWers call that a police state tactic. Remember the Inforwars fan couple who took their children and fled to Cuba?

Those children had been taken away from them because they were dealing drugs and talking doomsday stuff - possibly they were going to commit murder suicide. The kids' grandmother was taking care of them. Then it was trumpeted on CT radio about how bad social services were - you can bet if he'd been slapping his wife around it would have been 'family values' time again.

There are big problems in all of these cases of children being removed, but this woman could have used some help, serious help to stop this happening. Instead, she and possibly some children are having havoc in their lives first from the perp, second from legislators or council members who were probably against her getting any help anyway.

Of course, we're all just talking, speculating and only see one part of these short stories. You're right, they don't give enough information. Just think how many thousands of times this is happening, and never makes the news...

I'm sad about the state of our society when no one offers any alternatives.

No surprise there. The rants that man delivers are designed to terrify and incite people.

Naturally, Alex had already gone with his stories on this and we will continue to have OPs inferring the same, coincidentally or not:

New Pictures Purport To Show Tsarnaev Brothers Engaged In Firefight With Police

Steve Watson | Witness does not describe elder suspect being run over.

Aunt of Bombing Suspects Talks To Alex Jones: Smells an Inside Job

She felt people were listening to her phone and she made a point to say she was not being threatened.

Tamerlan Tsarnaev “Radicalization” Plot Line Used to Reinvigorate War On Terror

Kurt Nimmo | World War sparked by conflict of civilizations will terminate in tyrannical global government.

That's the front page of today's Infowars which I checked to see if he acknowledges this story. Not yet, but no doubt he'll be yelling he's being persecuted for telling The Truth© soon.

And as Chris Rock says, 'that train's never late' and Jones 'just had to go there' as he rehashed his 9/11 Dancing Israelis spiel:

Alex Jones: Suspects “look Israeli”

The conspiracy broadcaster wonders if the Jewish state may have had something to do with the Boston bombings...

Second verse, same as the first. Now wash, rinse, repeat. Tired of this. Damn if the JBS - Koch Brothers brain soap isn't working well.
