The GOP death panels at work. They want this:

Senator Sanders reiterates his intense opposition to cuts in Medicaid.

Kudos for Rockefeller. The GOP call him a RINO but I call him a human.

That was the first thought that came to my mind, too. A wise and compassionate man.

He did his part for the world well. He is part of the era of so many great men laid to rest now. Nelson was born July 18, 1918. JFK was born May 29, 1917. The light they showed the world in their years will not be put out:

Mrs. Kennedy and AG Robert F. Kennedy walk away from President Kennedy's casket after lighting the Eternal Flame. The evergreen boughs which cover the base of the temporary Eternal Flame can be seen behind them. The Presidential Honor Guard is in front of and to the left of Mrs. Kennedy. Note the presence of the Green Beret.

We have seen terrible and wonderful things in our lives. Thanks for posting this, Cha.

The first amendment means little without ecoomic/social freedom. Only the powerful get a voice then.

The powerless and unpopular are allowed to speak, but not change the conditions of their lives in any meaningful way.

The first is being used to deny others their right to live as they should be allowed, in favor of the religion of the powerful being protected.

The idea of Equality is the only value that America has had and is working to perfect.

Venting is not power.

Sure, Cheetos. Your good faith efforts to enact destructive, deadly legislation was rebuffed.

You only got tthe minimum number of people that you promised your satanic masters would starve, drop dead and lose their human rights.

Mean Obama! Mean Democrats! Boofuckinghoo!

Uh, mixup. Like Led Zeppelin's The Immigrant Song... Yes, I thought it really said this...

Screwed up America The Beautiful in elementary school, too. Sigh.

Another version on Capitol Hill in 2009. Look at who's there...

Cicely Tyson performs Sojourner Truth's "Ain't that a woman?"

First Lady Michelle Obama joined House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton and other lawmakers and dignitaries on Capitol Hill on Tuesday to unveil a bust of Sojourner Truth, the 19th-century slave turned abolitionist who was also a fiery advocate for womens rights.

I wonder if students are being taught about her now?

She was a heroic figure in my public school textbooks, along with Frederick Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Booker T. Washington, George Washington Carver, abolitionists, the Underground Railway and the suffragettes.

How did we get to this in the USA, that people don't know the obvious about human rights anymore?
