TRMS shows something good in Texas re: Ebola

to Galraedia for this video:

I grew up around people like Jenkins, quiet, but doing the right thing. May he be part of the coming majority in Texas.

Texas is Rick Perry's fiefdom in the Koch Kingdom. That says it all.

No Medicaid expansion. Clinics shut down. People dying with preventable diseases. Agencies to deal with public health and social services destroyed.

Regulations thumbed at. Irresponsible privatization run rampant. Texas has a lot of health problems, this is just one of them.

Lack of insurance?

The GOP Death Panel tosses the poor and the uninsured out of hospitals to go home and die fast so they can get more tax cuts to millionaires. The GOP are so far down the road of war against us that they are traitors.

Predictably, GOP media is claming that hispanic immigrants are the next Ebola vector. They're going to point the finger at everything but their own actions that destroy public health.

There is racism involved, but it's an undercurrent that has been ongoing, with minorities taking the very worst of cuts. The racism is systemic there and it's not getting better. I'm hoping all POC next month GOTV and shake the foundations of Texas.

I suggest they take two aspirin and listen to this classic I listened to as a child at home:

Wait, that woman there! Republicans would foam at the mouth! Although:

Myself, I prefer Bolero to Ebolero. Perhaps they'd be fooled, I don't know.

Louie Gohmert is concerned about this:

Citing security threat, Obama expands U.S. role fighting Ebola (Posted for my fellow BOGsters)

Rebuttals to the negative conservative comments at the source of the above:

I have to say that most of the posters here should be ashamed of their comments. They show your lack of understanding of the world as well as a couple with some thinly veiled racism. None of you could be involved with a church that sends medical people throughout the world to help in countries where people are dying. You also don’t have any friends or relatives working in the oils business who work in places like this. You all should work on your compassion a wee bit.

Y’all, of course, realize that the US military doesn’t just consist of guys with guns, right? There are engineers, doctors, nurses, scientists. Heck, there already is one health center in Liberia being run by US military personnel. And, of course, if the US sends engineers, doctors and nurses in there will need to be some guys with guns to protect them. Why should we do that? Because ebola will spread. The CDC is already working with hospitals in the US on how to deal with it. It is in our interest to contain that and minimize the impact. also, troops have been training for germ warfare, exposure to this type of situation.

Why do people think ISIS needs to be contained but not Ebola? Why do people think that people who wish harm to the US are not trying to leverage the outbreak of Ebola against the US? This is why we cannot allow this to fester in anarchy. That, and we are human beings who are supposed to care about other defenseless humans beings who are suffering from this outbreak.

This will be a great opportunity for our CBN (chemical biological nuclear)Trained troops to get the real hands on Bio-warfare training. Good to have this knowledge for the future. With Synthetic Biology and the ease of modifying the genetics of organisms, we will see terrorists and even Military uses of Hemorrhagic and other diseases in our lifetimes. If ISIS or some other group got one of their members sick then he could be transported to USA or Europe and blow himself up in a crowed place. You Obama haters better use logic and not emotion with this issue.

The 1918 Flu originated in Haskell County, Kansas, spread to US Army bases, went to surrounding cities, went to US ports, and went to foreign ports and Europe. It was called the Spanish Flu because most countries, including the US, Allies, and Central Powers, had censorship to conceal bad news, so Spanish newspapers were the only source of information about the 1918 Influenza Epidemic that came from the US. It should have been called the Kansas Flu.

Folks, there are daily flights from the Unites States to these West African countries and back. Some of those arriving on the flights are your neighbors, co-workers, children’s classmates, neighborhood small business employees, etc. The United States is the largest melting pot in the world as far as people diversity goes. Even if direct flights to these countries are stopped, you cannot stop people from seeing their family members – they’ll always find a way. It is in your best interest that the United States helps to contain the disease there in West Africa than wait for it to get here. Its only a matter of time before it gets here.

http://www.reuters.com/article/2014/09/16/us-health-ebola-obama-idUSKBN0HB08S20140916

There were responses to posts claiming that the Spanish Flu was why we went to WW1, and part of President Wilson's plot to kill Americans.

More posters pushed the theme that Obama wants infected troops to come back and decimate the American population in the same way.

The rebuttals show a realistic world view. We should go abroad since whatever is going on elsewhere, will be here. Because we are an immigrant culture and government must take action to protect all of us.

The GOP's response to the call for Ebola aid was to slash the funding:

GOP House guts White House’s request for funds to fight and contain Ebola

By David Ferguson - September 9, 2014

House Republicans have gutted a White House-sponsored bill that would direct funding to the fight to contain the hemorrhagic fever Ebola, which is raging out of control in multiple African countries.

The Hill blog reported that a source familiar with the budget negotiations confirmed that House Appropriations Committee Chairman Hal Rogers (R-KY) will agree to provide only $40 million of the $88 million the Obama administration asked for in its 2015 budget.

Twenty-five million dollars of the $40 million would go to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and $15 to the Biological Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA) in order to speed up production of an experimental anti-Ebola drug.

The Obama administration originally asked for $58 million for BARDA, a division of the Department of Health and Human Services. The agency is tasked with coordinating the nation’s response to public health crises, including medical testing, vaccines, drug development and other products and services associated with “public health and medical consequences of chemical, biological, radiological, and nuclear (CBRN) accidents, incidents and attacks, pandemic influenza, and emerging infectious diseases.”

October 6, 2014

I just called him and told him all you said. He was grateful to be remembered by other veterans.

I looked up active aircraft in Wikipedia. The version of Spooky he flew is now gone, but replaced with another called Spooky:

Lockheed AC-130 Spectre / Spooky / Ghostrider / Stinger II

Picture says 'AC-130H Spectre jettisons flares' but why it would, IDK.

The Lockheed AC-130 gunship is a heavily armed ground-attack aircraft variant of the C-130 Hercules transport plane. The basic airframe is manufactured by Lockheed, while Boeing is responsible for the conversion into a gunship and for aircraft support.[1] The AC-130A Gunship II superseded the AC-47 Gunship I during the Vietnam War.

The gunship's sole user is the United States Air Force, which uses AC-130H Spectre, AC-130U Spooky, AC-130J Ghostrider, and AC-130W Stinger II variants for close air support, air interdiction and force protection. Close air support roles include supporting ground troops, escorting convoys, and flying urban operations. Air interdiction missions are conducted against planned targets and targets of opportunity. Force protection missions include defending air bases and other facilities. AC-130Us are based at Hurlburt Field, Florida, while AC-130Hs and AC-130Ws are based at Cannon AFB, New Mexico.[3] The AC-130s deploy to bases worldwide in support of operations. The gunship squadrons are part of the Air Force Special Operations Command (AFSOC), a component of the United States Special Operations Command (SOCOM).[4]

This sounds very much like my BNL was doing. Although he didn't volunteer to be weapons expert. Testing when he joined the Air Force (he knew he'd be drafted and wanted a choice) showed he'd be good with computers. But they didn't need that, so he was trained on weapons instead. This is how these are used for today:

All of the weaponry aboard is mounted to fire from the left (port) side of the non-pressurised aircraft. During an attack the gunship performs a pylon turn, flying in a large circle around the target, allowing it to fire at it far longer than a conventional attack aircraft. The AC-130H Spectre was armed with two 20 mm M61 Vulcan cannons, one Bofors 40mm autocannon, and one 105 mm M102 cannon, although after 1994 the 20 mm cannons were removed for most missions. The upgraded AC-130U "Spooky" has a single 25 mm GAU-12 Equalizer in place of the Spectre's twin 20 mm cannons, an improved fire control system, and increased ammunition capacity. New AC-130J gunships based on MC-130J Combat Shadow II special operations tankers were planned as of 2012[update]. The AC-130W is armed with one 30 mm Bushmaster cannon, AGM-176 Griffin missiles, and GBU-39 Small Diameter Bombs.[5]

Only RWNJs like Gohmert are using it. Well, and race baiting Fox. I say to hell with them both.

Before this, it was the kids from Central America. Before that the Umbrella, Ketchup and Latte Gates.

Donald Segretti gave it a name, Ratfucking. Check Wikipedia. It's all there. Winning elections since Nixon.

And this hysteria in the media is set up like the Bundy fiasco was. The CDC released info on a vaccine for Ebola in September. But this is all anyone will hear from MSM.

Reid, Sanders, Warren and Obama were making traction on the Koch agenda the week the Bundy fiasco started getting nonstop support on MSM. No one now remembers what the Koch agenda revealed was.

This is the newest shiny POS the media will divert attention with, through the month of October, slanted to make Obama and thus the rest of the Democratic brand, look incompetent and not fit to rule, crooked or just plain evil.

Gohmert says Obama is intentionally bringing Ebola here by way of the medical troops sent to Africa to stop it at the source. So you repeat that and ask why is it being brought here. It's up to you, of course, if you want to believe these people are imported to do us harm.

Consider that most of those who do, claim Obama is illegitimate and must be 'taken out.' That's not the way DU sees these things.

Stupid question. Could the names of these be less dramatic and aggressive?

Why so... provocative?

Why not just call them by numbers?

Who thinks this stuff up and is it appropriate?

Or is it way the hell gone past irony or propriety?

Guess I wouldn't wanna be killed by something named the Peace Rose:

I oughta leave this thread alone, but I can't resist it.
