I see this article as more of a snipe at the GOP. Remember this iconic pic?



Of course the GOP want to take back that information from Obama. Like John Conyers' report, it 'names names.'

There have been convictions from those reports and there may be some from this information.

And I agree with all the rest that you said, the blind hatred will only benefit Libertarians.

Untethered by reelection, powered by an economic resurgence and clearly feeling just plain good about his standing, President Obama forcefully delivered a vision of where the nation needs to go in his sixth State of the Union address. And any doubt about his confidence was dispelled in one drop-mic moment near the end of his address.

“I have no more campaigns to run,” Obama said in the middle of a compelling oration devoted to the need to for Democrats and Republicans to work together. In response, congressional Republicans in attendance applauded. The man who frustrated his base and others with his turn-the-other-cheek thought for just a second before acknowledging their cheeky reaction with an ad-libbed rebuke. “I know, because I won both of them,” said the first president since Dwight Eisenhower to win at least 51 percent of the vote twice...

What Obama said after he delivered that improvised response to GOP cheekiness shouldn’t get lost in all the high-fiving on the left and the sneering on the right.

"My only agenda for the next two years is the same as the one I’ve had since the day I swore an oath on the steps of this Capitol – to do what I believe is best for America.  If you share the broad vision I outlined tonight, join me in the work at hand.  If you disagree with parts of it, I hope you’ll at least work with me where you do agree.  And I commit to every Republican here tonight that I will not only seek out your ideas, I will seek to work with you to make this country stronger..."

I left out the sarcasm icon, I thought it'd be understood. I always pull out the CSA response to the

Emancipation Proclamation, or even the letters written by their president and vice-president, which prove the war WAS about slavery. It explained their treason perfectly, as they rebelled against the statement that many people have held close to their hearts to give them the strength to go on from the opening of the United States Declaration of Independence:

We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness. That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed;[7]


The CSA leaders opposed the words, calling them insane, unnatural, and an affront to God. All POC and all women were deemed lower beings who had no right to be involved in government.

The intention of Ron and Rand Paul, Paul Ryan, the Koch brothers, and their followers in the militias and Tenther movements is to implement that philosophy. I'll go back and edit...
